WhiteFang replied to Legostein's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Thank you for uploading those photos! Seeing it, made me wanted to work harder, so I could join you guys one day! It's truly amazing and wonderful. -
Oky, you nearly gave me a heart attack. At the very least, both of your entries especially Category B was submitted in the nick of time. You only left 6 minutes when you posted your Category B entry. Next time, please try and avoid from submitting too late. It can be quite scary and disappointing if you didn't make it in time.

The name, "Forbidden Forest" certainly quite misleading for sure. This set is classified as one of the smallest HP set for this year and part to be feature together with the HP 7 (Part 2) movie. I will think this whole set is just a mere focus of the HP characters and a chance for you to own those key characters without forking out huge sum of money for the bigger sets. I agreed that Narcissa is the jewel of this set and I think it's one of the main reason for many to pick it up. Love the family photo down there. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for this fine review. Finally, there is someone who has touched on this review. I am very excited about this set when I first saw this set. Even though, at that time, I didn't have enough budget for this set, I am quite sure I did feel regret about it. It's certainly great to see this in pictorial review. Actually, there is one of such review hiding in somewhere, inside RA.

Apart from the current cast of the LEGO Black Pearl, we only seen "Hadras" and no one else. So I am really hoping to see the whole gang. Otherwise, we might all have to resort to those Atlantis sea creatures such as the Manta Ray, Squid Warrior, etc. I get your point. I will suppose and boldly assume that the significant trademark of the Black Pearl is her "black sails". No other ships ever hold the black sails. I might be historically wrong on that.
-
First post now updated!!! Lots of new funny wacky titles!
-
Outstanding piece of castle. It looks just like a classic Black Falcon castle on a larger scale! Very beautiful.
-
As I had watched the trilogy recently, I believed the reason why it was called the "Black Pearl", is because of its exclusive and unique black sails that taunt other vessels. Furthermore, it is the fastest ship in the sea and previously captained by Jack Sparrow, and later, Barbossa. This ship was a blood debt that was part of the deal between Jack Sparrow and Davey Jones, and it was involved in many iconic POTC scenes, such as against the Flying Dutchman in the 3rd movie. Overall, I will think the Black Pearl ought to have more Jack Sparrow's crew, while "hoping" and "leaving" the Davey Jones and his gang onto the "Flying Dutchman" if there is even such a possibilty in the next wave/next year.
-
Thank you for the link. However, at this stage, this Black Pearl is still just a preliminary design and based on my past experience and impression which I have gotten when we first saw those POTC preliminaries, it did not make me go crazy but after seeing actual images and actual sets, POTC is now one of my favourite theme. Even though, the current image did not make me felt so much interested. I felt, there is a "wow" factor missing in there. Apart from the black sails and the highly desired minifigure, Davey Jones, I hope this ship design will be something solid. Meanwhile, I will just reserve mine judgement until I see a much "confirmed" image!

Happy Birthday to the both of you! May you have an enjoyable weekend!

Fred, I just noticed this and I must admit that this is a very good customisation attempt to make the elf's ear less "brown". It is certainly looks so much better and appealing. So, I wonder how many did you manage to replicate so far?

Thank you for this very fine review. For ages, we have always asked for more civilian sets and this is one of the ideal set to integrate into your medieval market village settings. Furthermore, the parts assortments for this small set is incredible and with many of the new castle elements such as the new Heroica weapons, chicken, etc, which actually made it worthwhile to stock up more than one. I will be looking forward to pick up mine once it's here locally.

Excellent review. I enjoy the content of this set pretty much. Not only the characters are appealing, this is a second chance for me to actually own a clone turbo tank. I am glad I have gotten this.
