I remember this line. I hated this version. The Castle ones overshadow the Knights Kingdom sets by infinity. As for the catapult, it's quite fun flinging it and knocking the horse down.

Everyone's so hyped about tauntauns. What's the deal? Bloody camelmonster thingy. Maybe throw in a wampa. That would be nice. What I'm reaaly into is the Mon Cal cruiser and the Venator. It seems they'll be similar to the 2006 ISD set. I have a feeling the Venator's going to kill the Mon Cal because it seems to be much more expensive.

I doubt it much. They released a few sets licenced for JP 3, but it was a total flop. We should just stick to Adventurer where we could explore and not just stick to just movies. I personally would like to see WWII sets the most. I know this is impossible becuase if Lego produced sets based on real things, the political criticism following it would be unbearable.

Very hard! Especially when it's your favourite set and practically the US is the only set not releasing this Limited Edition set but the other ones were. Remember what happened to the Echo base this year?

I'm frustrated how Count Dooku's solar sailer is not avialable only in the US (as far as I know)!. It's the set I want most, despite much criticism. I know that only a few have them and the other countries are backordered, but we should see them too. Has anyone in the US been seeing this set anywhere in the US? Npone of my local Lego brand stroes have them either.

Interesting work there. I've seen other Geonosis battle scenes on brickshelf before. Adding LOTS of troops on both sides helps a lot. You might also have too many walker trcks, they look a bit like bomb craters to me. I also like adding obstacles, such as those tower spire things(the organic type) , but they may be hard to realise in LEgo. Hope your scene is completed soon so we can enjoy it.

I am posting thios review because there is none here. I bought this set in 2006 mainly because there was nothing to buy. 2006 was a disappointing year for me, with the exception of Slave I and the ISD minifig-scale. I ended up buying all of the sets anyway, but all of them ended up becoming scrap with the exception of this set (hencce this posting). On with the set: This set was 70 USD. Considering the first TIE was 20 USD, that's already 40 USD for the 2 regular TIEs, 20 USD for the TIE advanced (assuming the Y-wing from the OT set was 30 and the TIE was 20), and about 10 for the weird Tie droid. It's not bad value, except that these ties did not have stormies OR stands. The only reason, it seems to me, that they included the droid TIE was so people would buy somehtinh "new", even though the rest was completely unoriginal. It doesn't fit well, trust me, with the rest. But it is the first EU set, and Lego had to be quite creative to create this one, (but not creative enough to release new models). You can't blame Lego for releasing these Ties again because it was the OT year, where everything is a huge recap. Onward with the pictures! Side view Cockpit view Contains a very curious droid brain, obviously a product of lego designers (just 3 random pieces thrown together, it's unrecognisable. Fits snugly into the cockpit. The new Tie at left and the original version at right. The old one is better because the cockpit doesn't fall off without holding firmly onto it. pilot left guy is the new one, the right is thge old. only difference is the old brown/new brown change. (they didn't have black heads back then. the advanced sucks in detail in comparision with the new model. same hinge probelm that easily breaks off every single time you lift the cockpit! Three vaders. (I still need the head from the Death Star/ Tie advanced). Left is the one from the set, the right is the same one except it is old colours (the final duel) Middle is from the minifig ISD

This was my favourite set of 2006. It may be my favourite of all time. What I love best is the extra room in this set. MANY SAY THIS IS BAD, BUT i THINK IT'S GREAT. iT ALLOWS MUCH PLAY IN THE SET. I'm sorry, I accidentally pressed Caps Lock. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. (I also can't wait for the Home One cruiser and the Venator-class destroyer)

Excellent review. How is it that when one posts a reveiw that you alwyas want to get it? It's as if it's some LEgo Group conspiracy to make us buy sets. as for your question on printing on curved surfaces and stickers on flat ones, I think it is because those printed ones are used quite often (i.e. more than once, in other Ties), but the stickers are used only for that set, so it would be impractical .Stickers may also be cheaper, so they try to use those as much as possible, but a sticker cannot go on a fully circular curved piece without causing unwanted ripples.

Nice review. (especially for us old guys). I just bought one. I figured out that the rough stickers (the black and white stripes) both keep minifigs fomsliding (as in real life) but also are glow in the dark! As for the price, I think that the large pieces and abundance of lime green pieces makes up for this. (I also think that the fire aimed at the crotch is supposed to be a furnace where you put in coal or something, despite a sticker which reads "oil").

I got this a few days ago. Spent a few hours modding it, and I hate the fact that the printed grills at the back were printed in old gray on a new gray plate. Disappointing that the belt is white in contrast to the black one for the clone troopers set

I got this on Dec. 24 at the world's largest TRU, (you know, the NY one) because it's a bit close(although the parking is another story). They had all 4 Indiana sets there, and I bought this one. It really is a nice set, but they could have replaced the treasure box with 4 or 6 connected boxes(like the one in the motorcycle chase), and it could have had a better name. It's my favorite set so far for this year (08)
