Did you see the maker's attempt at brickbuilt longbows? I also really like his tower tops.
-
I'd suggest a blue visor with black gloves. In any case, at least change the gloves to another color.
-
Nice use of the Indy whips and the Indy side saddle bags. I think that the Engineer is a great fig but the trans/blue goggles don't look steampunkish, I would revert to black ones. Also, I'm a bit confused, how does this machine move laterally?

I like the use of the Islander's sail, and that catamaran is great. I laughed when I saw the capsized boat. It would be better if there were some buildings on the shore (vendors, shops, etc), or even a small path for romantic walks...

The Katanas are a great addition. I like how the waist rotates, that's very realistic. Are the props and jets movable? Seems like the should be since a much underwater would encounter a lot of resistance if it tried to propel itself in the vertical position.

I loved this line: "You still have this newspaper?" "Yup"

School bus! Your buildings really are magnificent. The whole cafe corner downtown diorama is great and blends well. And that school bus is just fantastic.

We certainly do all have something to aspire to now.

What would make a great Adventurer sub-theme?
WarnIcarus replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Arab World. -
That's fantastic, great use of the Technic figures (a four seater, at that!) and I love the independent suspension. Will you show us some pictures of how it works and the construction process?
-
I agree, I think that having three shades of gray lends itself to a more realistic, mottled look.
-
Haha, sleeveless t-shirt. Well done.
-
I'm glad to see a brick-built ship coming around.
-
Will someone please post the images? I can't see them from my computer for some reason.

This is a funny little comic with great quality figs and pictures. I look forward to reading more of them. Nice chow pots by the way.

I really like those goats, and the MOC seems to have a lot of realistic features. The smoke is well done, and I like all of your minifig choices. Still, the goats are the best for me. I like their pen and that they are doing something, not just sitting there. All that said, it's not a gorge, sorry mate. Nor does cheddar coem from goats. Minor issues and I think that the name is applicable. Also, is there an interior we could have a look at?

Which Is Better to get Western or Pirates?
WarnIcarus replied to Joey Lock's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think that Pirates and Western are very similar with the way their third party (Islanders or Indians) were way too downplayed, and did not reach full potential (and so detracted from the theme in total). I voted for Western, because I think it has more depth, but overall I think that Islanders is the best strain of any in either theme. -
Can we see some more pictures of the new figurehead or is there not much special there?
-
I like how it is a two-fig wide truck, and I love the color scheme. Do you think you should add a rollcage? Seems like something a truck like that would need.
-
Beautiful. Great mixture of all the shades of gray and the figs are well chosen and built. I like the way the path looks so natural.
-
That's great! I think that it could go with some variation though. Maybe in the stone work on the church or if there were some weeds in the cemetery or around the building. What would be really great is if you made a burial scene in the cemetery with mourners, flowers, coffin and up-turned dirt too.
-
I also like how it is very filled out, and looks like it has soem real weight. Maye you could add some hoses so that it looks like it has some external hydraulics? I think that the addition of some automated small-caliber guns on the bottom to deter under-belly small arms fire would be advantageous to the safety of the entire vehicle too!
-
Does the tank head rotate 360 degrees? How's the mobility on the Mech?
-
I like how it is filled out more than the standard set, and black is much better on this ship than white. I think that the troop "buckets" are under done, if you could make a hatch and have the shock troops run off of it, that seems better and more realistic. Maybe you could add some automated small-caliber weapons for protection when the unit is landing in a hot zone? Also, we need a name for it!

The Beetle looks great! I think that because it is so wide and low it has very little maneuverability. I would suggest some independent suspension, or at least raising the chassis a bit. I would angle the armor like on a T-34 so that it is safe from small arms fire. Since this is a support vehicle (being artillery) I think you should include a trailer (Armored, Angled) or supple vehicle with more ammo, as well as a crew. Show us what those missiles look like! Not only the explosive tip!
