No, I do not believe so. There were a few small differences (Low-ranking officers on judicial vessels wear no rank insignia during the time of the Old Republic. This changes with the rise of the Empire., etc), but nothing that would prevent TLG (or MOCers) from simply re-using Imperial Officer torsos for Republic Officers. See here:

I would not like a mobile version of the site. I spend 99.9% of my EB-time on my phone, and don't have any problems. When I am on Flickr, the site opens in mobile, and I must switch to the desktop version before I can use the site. This is annoying, and is not something that I would like to see from EB. Perhaps, if a mobile version is deemed necessary, it could be made in such a way so as to allow members the option of choosing whether or not the site opens in mobile when not on a computer.

The Narada would fall apart if you even looked at it, but the Jellyfish would be doable. They would need to use slopes, and it may be large (but the real ship was rather large), but it would be doable.
