  1. Great build! My favorite details are the arches above the small window and the well. Furthermore I really like that the buidling is placed at an angle on the plate, it really gives a lot of 'dynamic' to the total picture. I really hope you can still find enough time to produce more stunning MOCs when you have to work again!
  2. @ZCerberus, thanks for your nice comment on my shield design I really hope that I didn't set your expectations too high for my embassy, but I will try to live up to it I really want to try to focus more on building techniques and details, and less on my landscaping skills to make something look nice. Therefore I put myself to the challenge to build the embassy on a 16X32 plate (quite small, but my brick collection isn't large enough yet for something a lot bigger), with almost no extra space for landscaping. Furthermore the embassy will be build in Mitgardia, with snow, some rocks and not many plants to 'green' the building. I already have the basis ready with fortified gate, rocks and stables, and of course a secret escape route! @de Gothia Well I can promise you that there are some details that don't show on the WIP photo that I hope you will like! You just keep surprising everybody with great MOCs in such short time ! Your latest one is another jewel! There are a lot of nice details that make me look at it again and again. I really learn a lot from your MOCs, especially since I am quite new to MOCing.
  3. First of all I'd like to wish all my fellof Avalonians a happy new year with a lot of building fun in the Guild and Avalonia challenges ! I would also like to share my shield design for the Green Riders with you. Here you see Kariny showing off her new shield. Hope you like it, it's my own design (actually a black and white version of a drawing I did quite a few years ago).It was quite a work to create a black and white version of the winged horse to the shield design. Furthermore I have been busy with a MOC for the title of Champion of Avalonia, here's a sneak peak. I have to wait for a few parts , but I hope I can post it this weekend. I have also started the Embassy build. Really having fun with that one, but I need to wait for a few bricklink orders before I can continue...
  4. Nice embassy ! Another great build from you! I really like the round tower, and the arches on the inside of the building (the use of the golden cups is a nice touch).
  5. Thanks for your comments and suggestions for improvements. I thought about a few myself, unfortunately I only had 6 wheels. I made the roof longer to protect the people pushing the battering ram and operating the ram, but it does look a bit out of balance now. I tried to make it look as much as I could to medieval designs for battering rams. But it turned out to be quite a challenge. Furthermore the wooden log hangs on chains to enable it to swing and smash the door or wall. However the space is a bit thight (a big error in my design, but when I found out I was becoming a little frustrated with the build, and just wanted it finished , yes I know a bit lazy, but I really wanted to go back at building houses and landscapes) Maybe I will improve my design later with your suggestions, but I will first have to take it apart, because I need some of the parts for new builds!
  6. My entry for the Siege Expert title. An Avalonian Battering Ram. (I haven't got any sand green cheese slopes (yet), so I had to use white)
  7. Thanks for your nice comment and feedback. I agree with you on the roof, unfortunately I didn't have 1X6 tiles, and had to settle for 1x8 tiles.I needed a little overhang, because the men pushing the battering ram have to be protected from arrows from the enemy. I also think it would have even looked better with sand geen cheese slopes instead of white, but I don't have any in my brick collection (yet )
  8. Wow great work ! You are really an inspiration for me to improve my MOCs, I especially like your landscaping . Nice background story too!
  9. My entry for the Siege expert title. This is an Avalonian Battering Ram ! Finished it a week ago, but finally got around making a photo of it. It was really a challenge for me although it is a simple build, but I normally don't build vehicle stuff, and I am quite proud of how it turned out. edit: pictures fixed
  10. Wow some great new builds for Avalonia have been added last days! I really like the farm, and the alchemist The village of Durnovaria just looks perfect! I hope I will have some time to build after Christmas. Last week I started with my siege weapon, it is finished, but I haven't made photo's yet. I also already started with my embassy, it will be quite small (16X32 base plate as basis) and situated in Mitgardia (suits my brick collection better). I hope I can realize my idea with the bricks I have.
  11. Great farm ! I really like the roof and the cabbages , very original! Your background story is really nice too. I think it gives something extra to a MOC when there is a background story.
  12. Really nice build ! Love the use of the dark and light grey, with the dark green and sand green band between the first en second level. Great job
  13. Wow, this is really inspiring. I just adore all the great details, especially the pinetrees!
  14. Nice detailed farming scene ! Really like the cheese making machine.
  15. Really original idea. The troll story adds something extra tot this MOC.
  16. The settlement of Arod Mearas is not only surrounded by green pastures for the horses, but also by some farmlands. On the rich soils different kinds of crops are grown and also some fruit trees can be found. As Kariny crosses the lands of Arod Mearas to get to the village of Arod Mearas, she passes the thriving farm of farmer Cullen, his wive Angwen and son Imar. Cullen is ploughing the land (I hope you like my design for the medieval plough) Angwen is harvesting some nice carrots by hand to sell at the market. They keep a small beefolk to pollinate the fruit trees and for the honey. They also have a small chicken coop for eggs. The farm also has a nice hayloft to store hay and some of the crops for the winter. On the inside of the farmhouse a cosy fireplace, wooden bench and table, and a nice bed can be found. This is my entry for the ‘High Chief of Agriculture’title. Hope you like it.

  18. Love this tower, it really has a 'fairytale'look to it. Great build!
  19. Really nice build! I like how you made the roof with the workplace underneath. Maybe you should add some tiles for some kind of road/paving to give it a more Albion feel, with all the green and the pines it looks more like a blacksmith deep in the forest.
  20. I really like your unconventional design ! The black and white work out really well together with all the smooth lines
  21. Arod Mearas is perfect for my lands ! Thanks
  22. I think the guard is secretely drinking beer from a beer horn while on duty (what a schame ;-) instead of blowing the real horn I had to make it simple and mainly made from wood, because my lack op apropriate bricks for medieval building (e.g. grey bricks...., I will buy some kingdoms sets so I can build my Green Rider Headquarters for Albion) Fortunately I do have al lot of lego plants, leafs etc., so I can enjoy myself with the scenery and landscaping Thanks all for your encouraging comments! This Guild challenge is really inspiring to try out new things! (before I only built Modular City buildings and gardens/parks)
  23. Nice background story and great build ! I especially like the top platform of your tower, it really stand out !
  24. Arod Mearas is a small settlement with the Green Riders training and breeding centre in the middle of large green pastures. The Watchtower of Arod Mearas is a simple wooden tower with a stone base, build to keep watch over the valuable breeding horses of the Green Riders that graze in the green pastures surrounding Arod Mearas. When horse thiefs are spotted the guard at the watchtower will alert the settlement by blowing an alarm signal on his horn. Arriving Green Riders that are coming to Arod Mearas that pass by are greeted and the horn is blown to make sure a nice room and stable will be made ready. Here you see Kariny Rhiannon and Chestnut on their way to Arod Mearas for a few days of rest before she will be called for a new mission. She greets the guards in the watchtower. One of the guards of the watchtower is having a lunch break. The other guard blows his horn to make sure they now at Arod Mearas that Kariny is arriving! Even the horse of one of the guard can be stabled at the ground floor of the watchtower.
  25. Great building! I really like the effect of using white for the first floor of the blacksmith. It gives a little extra to this building. I think the Green Riders will let your blacksmith shoe their horses Does the building also have an interior?
