I am also still here ! (having a bit of a builders block after the embassy challenge, but I am planning to start on my Albion build this weekend...) This is my character: Kariny Rhiannon -
Just came back from a one week holiday and the first picture of an Avalonian Embassy I saw when I checked Eurobricks was yours! Really great build! I love the angles and the colours match perfectly

Zakon GoldBlade rides to see the Elf King

Great work! Another masterpiece of landscaping, I really like how you made the water. -
@Zcerberus Thanks for your comments and suggestions. First of all I am sorry to admit that I still don't have enough light or dark bley to build in just one colour. I agree with you that it would look cleaner in just one colour. On the other hand the mix of different styles used is intentional (little bit chaotic).I wanted to create a building that looks like it has grown over the years.

Nice elegant design of the boat!

@Captain Beerbard, thanks for your positive comment! Glad you like my MOCs. I'll try to keep up with my MOCs but some of our Avalonian Guild are really productive, so its' quite a challenge

Thanks for all your nice encouraging comments. I really tried to keep my own style, while setting the standard a bit higher for myself. I really am learning a lot from you all and the beautiful MOC's everyone is making for the Guild challenges and the free builds. @roguegang, I have some nice history about the Green Riders, but that will have to wait till after my holidays.

Avalonia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

Finally finished my Embassy last week and found some time to take photos yesterday. My Green Dragon Fortress, an Avalonian Embassy in in the cold mountains of Mitgardia: More pictures and the topic can be found here: The Green Dragon Fortress Luckily it snowed Friday so I could make some pictures of my fortress in the snow. I really tried to focus on the buildiing itself instead of landscaping and greenery. I also had to build relatively small due to my lack of bricks (my brick collection is luckily growing these days). Hope you like it! -
In the mountains of Mitgardia near its capital Valholl lies the Green Dragon Fortress, an Avalonian Embassy in Mitgardia. The ambassador for Avalonia is the Green Rider Lord Cymric Beisdes his ambassador duties he also takes care ofcoördinating the Green Rider messenger services and businesses in Mitgardia. The fortress has been build almost 200 years ago by the Green Riders just a few years after they were founded. In the early years is was just a simple stone building serving as a waystation for Green Riders on a mission travelling the roads between Avalonia and Mitgardia. In later years the Green Riders were allowed by the Mitgardians to fortify their building as a reward for their services. It has a long history. Recently Lord Cymric has been asked by Artorius himself to take up the role of ambassador in Mitgardia, because of his good relations in Mitgardia. Although relatively small, the fortress has not only played an important role in protecting Avalonians and Mitgardians in times of war , but enabled important messages to be exchanged that changed history. Recently as Historica is on the verge of chaos and possibly war once more, the messenger service of the Green Riders has become overloaded. Kariny finds herself on the road again to deliver an important message to Valholl from her king. On the road she had to stop at the Green Dragon Fortress to find cover from a heavy blizzard. The Green Fortress holds many secrets. Here you see Kariny showing you one of them, a secret door allowing messengers to enter en leave the fortress unnoticed or serving as an escape route. The small courtyard with the entrance to the stables and the well that is supplied with water from deep under the mountains and even when it is many degrees below zeros it won’t freeze and provides the fortress with water. On the first floor Lord Cymric is enjoying his lunch. More pictures (interiour and building details) can be found at My MOCpages

Nice little build! I really like your pergola (wooden structure), simple and yet very elegant! Might use your design idea for that one day for one of my town garden mocs.

The Blood Chamber of Immortality

Great scene and backstory! I like the little twist of evil on Avalonian soil. The use of the red tiling as blood against the dark grey of the rocks really looks great! -
Very sturdy looking building! I really love how you made the roof, especially the details with the mosaic and the dragons. Great entry !
-
A feast for the eyes ! I love the use of the barrels as columns. Your interiour is incredibly detailed, I really like the hanging candle holder above the table.
-
Another great Elvish build! I really like your unique building style. Your interiour is great too. Very nice and original interiour details, I just keep looking at the pictures again and again and keep finding new things.
-
Very colourfull and another great landscaping job from you ! The rocks and the entrance to the mine itself look very good too!

I somehow missed this build earlier. I really like the micro scale layout of your city

Armory and Sword tournament of Arod Mearas
Doornroosje replied to Doornroosje's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks for all you nice comments ! I wanted to try something different for the roof, and I am very happy with the result of combining tiles with the slopes on top. I made my own custom shield for the Green Riders and printed it on sticker paper. This is the design: Hope you like it -
And again some great builds ! I really like the two buildings together, a really nice Albion scene. I really like that you always have nice relatively small buildings with lots of interesting details and and interesting background story. Definetely got to get myself some of those pots

Finally found some time to post the final pictures of the Armory and Sword tournament of Arod Mearas. This is my entry for the Champion of Avalonia title. Had a lot of fun building it and came out to be a larger build than I initially planned. Thread can be found by: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=65198 -
Armory and Sword tournament of Arod Mearas Every three years a large festival is held by the Green Riders at Arod Mearas in honour of the goddess Epona (patron goddess of the Green Riders). Main events are the horse races, but also Sword and Archery tournaments are held. For the prestigious sword tournament the best Sword fighters from all over Historica and even other far away lands are invited to participate. The Sword Master of the Green Riders is the referee for the tournament. This year Queen Iladriel of the Elves is invited as special guest. Behind the Sword Tournament ring is the Armory. Above the armory some rooms for Green Riders can be found. This build is my entry for the Champion of Avalonia title. It’s not exactly a joust, but jousting is not really something for Kariny. Sword fighting however is totally her thing, and of course she competes in the Sword tournament. Here you see her beating her opponent in the finals and winning the tournament! Kariny has her room above the Armory. That room is more or less her home, when she is not on a mission for the Green Riders. Her white cat ‘Ghost’ always sleeps on her bed. When Kariny is on a mission the Sword Master takes care of her cat. More pictures can be found on my MOCpages :http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/303127

Work was very busy last days, so I haven't had much time to check out Eurobricks or even find time to build. But I see that many new great build have been created for Avalonia! I really hope I can find time this weekend to make some photo's of my latest build (armory and sword tournament). -
Wow, this is really a magnificent building, so large and still so many nice details. I just keep looking at all the photos . I especially like the tudor style parts of the gate house. Great inspiration!

Nice MOC ! I think the sliding doors are really original. I also like the colouring and the shop part. I'm a big fan of interiors, so I really hope you might add some more interior to this building someday. (at www.classic-castle.com , choose menu 'How-to' you can find a really nice guide for building medieval furniture that really helped me improve and try out new things. I tried to insert a link , but unfortunately it didn't work, so I hope you can find it)

Thanks for all your encouraging comments! It really encourages me to keep building for Avalonia! I really enjoyed this MOC, because I love landscaping and making little details like interiors and chicken coops. I studied a lot on how to make a plough in lego by looking at pictures from medieval ploughs, and I think it turned out quite nice.
