(it took some time, but finally finished it!) A busy market day in the village of Arod Mearas at the central village square in more peaceful times before the elemental mayhem began... Arod Mearas is a medium sized village that is mostly known for the Green Riders training and horses breeding centre and is situated in the middle of large green pastures and rich farming land. Kariny is going for some shopping at the market on her free day. At the market you can buy all kinds of things: meat and sausages from Ludo the butcher and fruit and vegetables from Elric fresh fish from the Draconem river from Finn bread and croissants from Merianna the finest beer from Gwenna and the peddler Leofric and his son Winifred sell all kinds of things like pots, pan, knives, bottles and glasses and other tools. Even animals like pigs, goats and chickens can be bought at the market The village square is surroundes by a wall and the Mearas gatehouse that oversees the square.

You are quite right! However I am still not that long into MOCing (started two years ago with modular town houses, and for GoH is started my first medieval builds) and every new GoH build is a new challenge for me and a chance to improve my skills. Moreover I have to balance my lego time with all my other hobby's and sports activities and have to make choices in what to build and I choose to focus my leftover building time this summer on at least a build for the Prince of the Forest title and maybe my Albion build (Green Riders Headquarters). @Captain Blackmoor, the design of that vessel looks great, can't wait to see the finished build!

Hey all, I haven't been around for a while but I am back! Unfortunately I won't be participating in challenge 4 (elemental mayhem just nog my thing...), but I have plenty of ideas left that still need to be realized... Right now I am enjoying three weeks of holidays befor my new job starts and the weather isn't that great, that means lots of LEGO building time hopefully. Well I finally finished my Market (Market day at the village of Arod Mearas) yesterday. Here is a sneak preview... I will try to make a separate thread for it tomorrow, so you just have to wait a bit more for more pictures with the details...

Hi, I would like to claim a small piece of land for the small village of Arod Mearas. Arod Mearas is the village in the middle of large green pastures, but also some rich farmlands can be found surrounding the village. The Green Riders training and horse breeding centre have been part of the village of Arod Mearas for centuries. I hope this land hasn't been already claimed by someone.

Hey all, I've found my inspiration (and some time...) back and started building again!Nothing really complicated, but just a lot of building fun My initial idea was a few simple market stands, but I got many more ideas for stands as I was building. Futhermore I would like to add a nice wall arround the market place to make a complete scene. Here are some WIP shots of the first market stands. Great job for everyone who participated in Challenge 3 for Avalonia. I have seen many great builds!

I am really sad to hear of Quinns death. I really like her! However I really do like how you did the trees and the forced perspective (I think you used green hairpieces ?)

@Legonardo Davidy: The cape is hand made indeed I didn't have any Lego capes at that time, so this was my solution I have started a new MOC and hopefully will be able to post some WIP pictures in a few days !

Name: Kariny Rhiannon Rank: Green Rider (elite messenger of Avalonia) Age: 19 Weapon of Choice: long sword History: Kariny Rhiannon is the daughter of a wealthy merchant and an unknown noblewoman (her father keeps it a secret) who died at her birth. At age 15 she heard the Green Riders call. At first she tried to ignore it, her father wants her to become head of his trade company in the future. However Green Rider Magic is very strong and she couldn’t resist it any longer. She started her 3 years apprenticeship at Arod Mearas and got her Green Rider horse Chestnut. Horseriding was something she learned before she could walk, however other skills required of Green Riders she had to learn just as the other apprentices. The second year when she went to the Forest outlaws to learn everything about tracking, wilderness survival and archery, she discovered her special magical ability when in danger from some evil drows. (maybe you’ll find out in later MOCs what it is, for know I keep it a secret). She has a talent for sword fighting and won the famous Sword Fighting tournament of Arod Mearas. After three years apprenticeship she earned her Green Rider title. She is fiercely loyal to the Green Riders and Avalonia, a bit stubborn , can have a bit of a temper, but is loved by all her friends for her kind nature. When she is not on a mission she has a room above the Armory at Arod Mearas. Her white cat ‘Ghost’ always sleeps on her bed. When Kariny is on a mission the Sword Master takes care of her cat.

@ZCerberus: Wow this really looks great ! My character (Kariny Rhiannon, Green Rider) even got a shield with white unicorn on it ! Quite a collection of unique characters we have in Avalonia:classic: Well, I am sorry I haven't been active lately. Live got a little bit in the way, with switching jobs and buying a house... (in a year from now the house will be ready and I will have a big LEGO room!!!! ) I have been checking the Avalonia thread regularly, but I have not been building. Good news is that I already have a few ideas for new Avalonian projects! A few weeks ago I bought the Friends café and it inspired me to do something with pies and cakes!!!.I am thinking of building a nice bakery for Arod Mearas and the owner of the bakery will also go once a week to the big market in Albion to sell her cakes and famous apple pies, so I will also build a scene at the market (hope to start on the latter this weekend!). I have also seen some great builds or WIP for the 3rd challenge! Keep up the good work everybody !!!

Wow Zcerberus, thats looks really good! Haven't had time to check the GoH forum for a while, and this is the first thing that caught my eye ! Already looks great, and not even finished yet... I especially like the sappling coming through the window).

Hey all! I am from Avalonia, and I think I am a relatively active builder. I participated in the first two challenges and made som MOCs for Avalonian titles or free builds. However due to limited time and other hobbies, work, sports and family I have to skip challenge three. I have been watching the Eurobricks forum for over a year (just lurking around...), but the GoH really got me out of my shell and hooked to castle building. Before GoH I have been building mainly city related (a few modular buildings), since I came out of my dark ages two years ago. I really like the building challenges GoH offers me, it really pushes me to build with a clear goal and try new things. I will try to complete the Avalonian titles before summer and I still have to start my build for Albion, besides I have a list of ideas for the Green Riders and the settlement of Arod Mearas, so I think I will be building as long as GoH exists!

Thanks for all your nice comments ! Glad you all like it, really makes my day @ZCerberus: I know I am horrible at photography...I appreciate your suggestions in that department a lot! Taking photos is the most dreaded part of sharing my MOCs with you all. However I try to make the best of it and fortunately the natural lighting gets better, so I don't have to rely on the flash that much. I made a series of photo's with both flash and without flash an picked out the best shots. For some reason when I don't use the flash a great part of the photo's isn't sharp enough

Herb and flower garden at Arod Mearas, dedicated to the goddes Epona. I went a little crazy with the new friends flowers, butterflies and ladybugs, and it turned out a lot more flowery than herbal ;-). Just had a lot of fun. Herbalist Melinda Cailleach and her young apprentice are collecting some herbs from the herb garden for medicinal purposes. It is the middle of summer and the garden is a waterfall of flowers. The fountain brings some freshness in the summer heat. There is a small statue of Epona in the wall surrounding a part of the garden. The garden is on one side surrounded by a covered walk, that also provides an entrance to the herb garden. Close up of the tower More photo's at my MOC pages

Hey all! Great new tree technique! Well, I finally found my inspiration back and started building again. Here is a sneak preview of my free build for Avalonia. A lot of details are lost, but I will try to make some better pictures this weekend and post it. (sorry photography is totally not my thing....) I was supposed to be a herb garden for the Green Riders head of Medicine at Arod Mearas, but it turned out a lot more flowery than herbal ;-). What can I say, I just love gardening and went a little crazy with the new friends flowers, butterflies,ladybugs and lots of colours.

Two nice colourfull MOCs. Just looking at it gives a happy feeling. This cartoonic style really suits you! I especially like your flowers surrounding the wizards house!

Another brightly coloured scene ! Simple, but very lively and nice use of all the foliage and flower parts. That friends bird is just too cute Beside I took you advice and got myself the friends set with the tree house for all the nice new flower parts and started building a new MOC (also a very green and flowery MOC!)

Hi all! It has been a while since I posted something, but some other things have take up a lot of my time. I still made some time to look at the GoH forum to see some new MOCs, and I have seen some new great ones for Avalonia, but lacked the time and energy for commenting. However I hope I get my time and my building inspiration back soon. Have really been thinking about the 3rd challenge, and what I could build for it. It will really be a challenge for me! Before I can start buidling again however I will have to take some of my previous building down and sort out the parts (really not looking forward to that )
