  1. Wow, that really is beautiful! Can honestly say that's one of my favourite models i've ever seen
  2. Sounds great, I'd love to read it!
  3. Thanks! Who should I ask? Just any member of staff? Not long to wait now, yay!
  4. Thank you, sounds like great fun, will definitely come along!! :D
  5. Oooh I like! Speaking as a newbie who only has a couple of the cheaper sets (including the log cabin & blacksmiths!) it's great to see a nice build that you don't need a ton of bricks to build. If I had the knight and castle set i'd definitely be giving this a try! :D
  6. Missed the deadline for AFOLCON as only just heard about the event (that'll teach me for not reading the events forum!!), but shall be coming along on the Saturday with my partner! Are there any meet ups for fans who are attending the show but aren't part of AFOLCON? I'm very much a lego newbie and want to start building my own models and would love to chat with fellow fans and get some advice! :D Thanks, Laura
  7. Wow great job! :D Love the attention to detail with the flooring!!
  8. For any Technic Lego fans, Argos currently have the Unimog for £109.99, usual price is £159.99, not a bad reduction!! :) http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3889510.htm Out of stock for delivery now I think but still some available to collect from stores!
  9. For anyone in Newcastle.... For some reason, Fenwicks are currently selling series 3 of the Lego Mini figures! Guess they found a few boxes out the back, as last month they were only selling series 4 and 5! Handy if you want an army of Elves! :D
  10. John Lewis also have lots of other lego at 50% off including Star wars Slave 1 for £30, Clone turbo tank £51, and emperors shuttle £30! :D
  11. All the Wilkos round here seem to sell Lego, including mini figures in some of them. Newcastle branch had Harry Potter buses and a couple of other HP sets on sale last week, weren't too much of a reduction though if I remember rightly. If anyone is after Hagrid's Hut, it's £24.99 at Amazon at the moment, RRP is £40.99 so not a bad price at all!
  12. Hope it's okay to post discount codes here, i'm still new so please just let me know if its not allowed and I won't do it again, just thought this might be helpful to some people If you spend £100 at the 'I want one of those' website, you can get £25 off with the code SAVE25QUID Valid until 30th November, and over 100 Lego sets to choose from! Might still be cheaper to buy sets on Amazon, but worth a look
  13. Wow that's pretty! Especially love all the trees and plants, and an amazing amount of detail! Very impressed!
  14. Thanks for all the helpful tips, i'm a new Lego addict and have bought a few packets but never even thought to feel them to find out whats in them! Wish i'd seen this sooner, I bought 6 packets on Friday hoping to get different figures and managed to get 3 sailors! Guessing he's a common figure then! Shall try and feel them in future, though slightly worried about looking like a crazy woman or a shoplifter! Alas my local WHSmiths keeps them behind the counter so no chance to feel them there.
  15. Love the lego gingerbread house! Looks perfectly edible! :D
  16. Thanks for all the lovely welcomes, I look forward to chatting with everyone It's all well and good sharing the lego hobby with my partner... but just wait until we both need the same brick at the same time... then the trouble will start
  17. Hiya! I live near Newcastle in the UK and at the age of 29 have just rediscovered the wonders of Lego! I picked up a couple of the free lego Harry Potter sets with the Sun newspaper and made the mistake of looking on the Lego website to see what else Lego make these days... and well, now i'm hooked :D For Christmas i'm getting the Hagrid's Hut Harry Potter set and the Ewok Attack Star Wars set, and my partner is getting the Lego Mindstorms set. I pity anyone who wants to walk across our living room floor on xmas day, it's going to be a death trap of pointy sharp lego bricks :D I look forward to chatting on the forums, and learning how to identify lego mini figures by feeling the packets! Bought 6 packs today and managed to get 3 sailors... oops!! :(
