My other half and I rediscovered Lego around November last year, and it's certainly made Xmas and Birthday present buying easier! He's mostly into Technic and Mindstorms stuff though, and I prefer the medieval and fantasy themes. We're both getting excited about the Lord of the Rings lego though! Only problem we're finding is trying to make space for it in the house, I envy all you couples out there who have the space for a dedicated Lego room!

Dragging up a bit of an old thread here... but wondered if there are any AFOL meet up groups or anything in the Newcastle area? Have recently developed a Lego addiction and just got back from the Lego Show and hoping there might be other fans up here who'd be up for chatting and swapping etc?

Had great fun too! Made it along to the Saturday after show event and enjoyed the talk, sorry we didn't stay longer though, we were both completely tired out and needed to check in at the hotel... i'm not used to so much excitement in one day! Hoping to come along next year and join in with AFOLCON though!! Thanks for a great day!!

I emailed Lego and asked if I would recieve the free bits with my order as they were shown in the basket (I ordered £50+ of non-SW lego) and they replied: "We did actually advertise that the promotional items were received when placing an order for Star Wars™ items. The good news is, this promotion actually applies to all orders! You did receive the free shipping, R2-D2 poster, and the TC-14 exclusive minifigure with your purchase." So looks like the tie fighter might not be included, but the rest is! :D

Seems to be adding TC-14 and the poster and tie fighter to any orders over £50 at all whether they include Star Wars lego or not. Though whether they'll honor it and send them we shall have to wait and see :)

My first lego set was a Fabuland one! Think it came second hand from my cousin. Still got it! :D
