    Holden Ute

I thought I'd try and build something not to minifig scale. This is based on the Holden Ute
  2. Derfel, My land is situated in the bottom right corner of Avalonia, and covers the area between my tower (no 19) and the border wall.
  3. That's too funny, I hadn't read it like that. Infact I hadn't even seen the word typed until today. It is pronounced 'foo-shul' but the other pronunciation works for my quarry (grey bricks are awfully hard to come by) (And for all of you Red Dwarf fans out there, it is the name of the Feline Sapien species' heaven)
  4. My Lord, the area protected by my tower is known as Fuchal. Work on my castle has begun but the workers are having trouble finding stone in the quarry so it may take some time. I will endeavour to hurry them up so as to be prepared should someone try a raid over the Border Wall.
  5. After seeing AllanSmith's red Mack truck, it got me thinking. What did every boy (and girl?) who grew up in the 80s want? Not real happy with the car though, the windscreen needs to be lower, but not sure if that's possible in 4 wide. Now to get the parts to build it.
  6. Great looking buidlings LT, whether they be true to life or not, I've been admiring your town builds for a while now. Keep up the good work. Just a question for the Danish on here. If Lego creations are based on the country, you guys must have a really high crime rate. There seem to be an awful lot of criminals and police officers in the sets. Must be a lot of fires too. Not complaining, just an observation.
  7. Its a nice looking truck, the Coca-Cola stickers help break up all the red and make it look even better. Its given me an idea, a black rig with a black car to go inside, but do Lego make hair that can match the Hoff?
  8. Its just a shame that Lego never got into Star Trek, with all the cool ships over the years (not to mention the huge cult following) they would have done really well.
  9. To make it truly accurate, you need some redshirts lying dead on the ground.
  10. That is a really mean looking battle cruiser, I especially like the side mounted gun turrets. I will have to track down some of your previous works. Can't wait to see the finished details inside.
  11. I have heard the request for stables for our lord's noble steeds. I offer the use of my humble stable if you happen upon my estate. I do apologise for the colouring my lord, but it would appear my apprentice (that's her tending the horses) has discovered some form of sorcery that colours the wood more to her liking. I assure you it will be refitted in guild colours once the materials are at hand. The hardest part of this build was the roof, trying to get plates to sit at right angles and then attach to the walls drove my nuts. If anyone can offer a better method of doing this I would greatly appreciate it. I used side studded bricks attached to the roof and the front angle plate, then used hinged bricks to attach that to the top of the walls. Its all very delicate and note sure if the positions are alligned correctly, but it does stay there.
  12. Xyver and my men are here to serve my lord. My watchtower is built and my castle has been planned, just awaiting the materials from the quarry to begin construction.
  13. Added some greenery and covered many of those unsightly studs, it looks better now FRONT LEFT FRONT RIGHT CAVE ENTRANCE Some people just never take there job seriously...
  14. I prefer strawberry flavoured myself, other than that it looks great.
  15. Thanks for the comments. I only started this last night and finished it just before work this morning, so it is still a work in progress. I'm using SNOT due to a lack of available pieces more than for effect, but it does look better in person, the photos didn't turn out that well. I had thought of putting tiles over the sides to make it look a bit more bricklike but haven't got there yet. Tiling and some extra greenery is my aim for tonight.
  16. In the hills surrounding Xyver's Estate, watchtowers keep an eye out for anyone entering the land. FRONT RIGHT SIDE FRONT/LEFT
  17. I've finally finished my first major MOC design in Lego Digital Designer. Not happy with the smallish size of the King's Castle set, I wanted something a bit bigger that my daughter could play with. This is the result: The plan is to eventually build it, but I sadly do not have the bricks so will have to order pretty much everyhing (over 2400) I have actually built the front wall in yellow and it does look pretty good, but that is the extent of the bricks I currently have. I will also then have to add some finer details to break it up a bit and also add stalls and work areas within the arched areas of the walls. The main building has been designed to split into levels for inside access. Any tips to make it better would be greatly appreciated, seeing some of the other MOCs on these forums has given me ideas which I couldn't get to work in LDD.
  18. Having kids interested in Lego is great. I got my daughter into Duplo first, then started buying the normal sets once she was old enough to not put them where they don't belong. Any special sets get put up high so she can't get them but most get played with. I build, she plays, it works great. The nephews on the other hand act like Godzilla whenever they come over to play.
  19. That's nice work, the tradie tray on the back really sets it off. Its always weird seing a cab-chassis driving around, lots of possibilities with it now though. Any reason why you have the smaller wheels at the back? It sort of makes it look like a 4x4 at the front but a 4x2 at the back, though I'm assuming its just to make it easier for the tray. I attempted to make a Holden Ute the other day. Looks nice in the dark grey, but I don't have any doors/side panels of that colour so its not quite finished yet.
