  1. Hi all. I am working on the EMD F7B model (James Mathis) and I was wondering if any of you guys in here know where to find the "indian" sticker on the side of it?
  2. I totally agree. The new PF sets look horrible compaired to the 12V and 9V trainsets. "PLASTIC DINKY TOY LOOK" -Couldn't have said it better! Just a thought: If they cant sell trains to the kids, maybe they should try to sell them to the adults.... They got the money, and they will probably pay a lot more for a good detailed set... I would!
  3. Wow! (No it doesn't mean world of warcraft!) Acording to all the activity and comments in this thread someone really found a GOOD subject here.... I do believe Lego should sell straights and curves seperatly. I really dont understand the arguments for the combined pakages (curves+straights)(straights+flex) I sense that most people dont want the flex and the curved in the same number as the straights! So cutting down the materiel used (costs) to make the unwanted pieces would be a nobrainer in my opinion... The dont make the same amount of points or crosses as they make in flexytrack anyway. Why? They dont sell as much! Im sure I could make an equation where selling sets with 4 straights and 4 points was good business! Interesting...!! Aparently it isn't going well for the trains.... The new trains cant be played with by kids because they fall apart, the new PF-system is a pain in the neck to control, there aren't any lights and other accessories to bring it all alive, no extra cars for birthdays.... Is it just me or......
  4. Hi again. Thank you all very much for your help. Very informative! On that background I went for the PF lights and now I have finally recieved all the parts needed and come up with a solution for them.... Also I moc'ed the Super Chief a little bit. I know this is dangerous ground, as the original is SO GOOD! So here it finally is. My Super Chief with complete Power Functions. I shortened the nose to put it a little more in scale, and I also made the gray side area a little larger to put that more in scale as well
  5. The thing is that I DONT want a second light in the cab.
  6. Hi there. I am puzzling with motorizing my new Santa Fe and I need some help. My plan is to use a PF motor with accociating batt.box and reciever. But I want to use the classic 9v light also. How do I connect this light brick with the PF Reciever. I think I once read somewhere that there was an extension wire that could do this, but I cant find it..... Hope some of you Wizards in here can help me.
  7. Just brilliant...!! How did you make the commercial-posters?
  8. Cute! Cant wait to see the Super Chief in this version...
  9. Very good work. I like the front of the train? What is the model? It looks somewhat like the BNSF....
  10. Hi there.... As promissed I will present my self and my technic models in this thread. It's pretty easy to see the theme of my collection. No, its not yellow bricks! For the trained eyes in here some will quickly notice that I have altered most of my models a little bit. (im not sure if this is considered as MOC'ing?) I like to stay as close to the original as possible, but some functions seriusly needed improvement. In my world they are made for play. I do play with them together with my 4 year old son, and if he is not to loose interest right away, they need to be able to dig, dump, load, hoist and so on, with our 3500 round bricks... I wont bother writing what I've done with them, cause you wizards probably allready know all the tricks..... Oh btw. I saw a topic in here about the 8265 frontloader and the problems with the Attila's PF MOC of it. (I have no intention of criticizing his work. What he did, was incridible!) However I did "moc the moc" and the LA version is now working like charm without the gears trying to kill each other. If some is interested I can probably make a Ldraw or take some photos of the details.
  11. Hi there. Im new here on this forum, so I will present myself in a new topic later... My question is: What is ILS? Where I come from it stands for Instrument Landing System. Not sure how that would work in a Deere though.....
  12. I dont think its just regular plates in each end of the train-plates... How would you attach the bogeys? You need to build those ends out of regular plates and technic-plates......
  13. If you think of a golden age as a top/highest period of Lego trains, then it should be the grey 12v period. If you browse Brickset for trains, you will see that year 1980 (the launch of grey 12v) had 28 sets. The year 2001 (9v) had 16 sets, and the year 1969 had 15 sets. 2010-2011(PF era) 6-8 sets perhaps.... If you then compare the playabillity of the trains in the different "eras" then it got worse through time. I have to agree with the "REPLY #6" on the critisism of the PF. The IR system is very poor and hard to control. However my 3 year old son can easily use both 12v and 9v system. The new trains like EN and MAERSK are great lookers, but they simple fall apart in the hands of a child. 12v and 9v trains didn't! The new trains aren't made for play, but for display! As mentioned 12v was easy to control, had electric remote crossings, points, stop and go lights, illumination lights, sections in the track that could be turned off and the train would automatically come to a halt......... 9v was also easy to control, but apart from lights on the train, it didn't have any of the other features of the 12v period. Now we got PF-train. The trains can be a pain in the neck to control, and apart from lights on the train, it doesn't feature any of the brilliant features that once were available. In other words, it went from brilliant to OK, and then from OK to . Ofcause this is my opinion. I dont think PF works for our beloved trains. The PF are a really good asset to the Technic models, but they are too big and clumsy, and lack reliable fine control. Golden age? Not even close!
  14. Back to the review.... I really cant understand your (all) enthusiasm for this set.... IMO its rubbish (and yes I AM a dane, -a fellow countryman of the legobrick, so I dare say it ) Compaired to 7834 and 7866 I think its a joke! A complete nobrainer! Its a grey, simple, borring, "naked" picture! Where is the "wow-factor"? I wonder how many seconds it took the designer to come up with this one? I do understand the argument of not having the "controller-house", but why this wierd little(mini) excavator that lifts a complete track-section!?!? Why not make a set most of us can rely to? Some ideas: a lot of vegetation around the tracks like bushes and trees, railworkers trimming that vegetation or maybe cutting down a big tree, a lot of round 1x1 plates as gravel in and around the tracks, double crossing like the 7866, power cable poles along the track with cables, try to make the crossing in a "not right angle" to the road (hope you understand), just make it come alive..... Hey there a people at LEGO that earn SERIUS paychecks for comming up with ideas like this, not me. This is in no way meant as an accusation or to offend anyone, -but it's NOT always good just because it says LEGO on the box. I think we should expect and demand more from LEGO and their professionel builders! Again this is all my oppinion....
  15. Hi there. Im in the progress of building a domecar myself. I have considered those panels myself.... Anyway, what category is the domewindows from James Mathis model from. Are they panels? -hinges? -glass? -doors? , zebras or ducks hehe. -I cant find them on Bricklink....
  16. is collecting Santa Fe stuff....

  17. That is absolutely beautiful! Can you please make the print available to us?? PLEASE! Btw. Why would you change the light position of the train? http://www.railpictu...=381409&nseq=24
  18. Thanks for the help Like mentioned, I couldn't find any of this in the toturials.... I didn't know what to look for either....
  19. Beautiful!! Many many thanks!! Hello again. Now that we are at it, is there a way to add a picture from my computer to the signature? The reason im asking is that I've mocked some of the train-gifs in "Paint" that i found in the "Train Depot" Now they are more representative to what I've got... But it wont let me! I checked the pixel-size and all that and it is fine ?
  20. Hi there... Couldn't find anything about this anywhere, so therefore this thread. I have seen a lot of you guys having a bunch of little cartoonish train pictures in the buttom as a kind of signature or profile picture.... How do I get those trains on my profile and where? Please!!
  21. What you are seeing on that first picture are actually four locomotives.... Two with a cap and two without a cap. They are respectively referred to as A-units and B-units. -I think Here lined up in a ABBA configuration.... ABBA! Music to my ears...
  22. I have to see this myself.... Was wondering if I should travel by ICE to Hamburg....
  23. But you can! They are on Bricklink, ebay and Amazon. Yes they are expensive but if it is a MUST OWN item, then get on with it!! Best of luck
  24. After searching a bit on wikipedia and google I will put my money on the EMD F3 or EMD F7 engines.... On this site http://www.american-...uper-chief.html there is a commersial video of the Santa Fe layout and if you pay close attention to it, you will see a passing Superchief with a dome car and a observation car in the end!
  25. If possible, -why not just flip the motor? (so that the buttom is on the top) That would reverse the direction without changing gears or cutting wires...
