  1. OK! Well, there you have it, straight form the horses mouth: Lego sees their European market as a cash cow to subsidize the losses they (evidently) make on the US market! Frankly, this makes me absolutely sick: and and ...Don't get me wrong, I'm not flaming America or Americans, but I am saddened by these kinds of arguments... In the big picture it's actually price issues such as these that are causing increasing wage demands by Europeans, leading to strikes, inflation, as well as leading to higher costs for production due to increased wage demands. This again leading to outsourcing of production to cheaper low wage countries, where labour standards aren't as high as in Europe...
  2. Oh, very well, photographed, and I actually think the child in the pictures creates an excellent composition for the photograph. I was in Arizona two months ago: I went to Sedona and Grand Canyon too, and both places were absolutely beautiful. And those Califormian Condors sure are hard to photograph!
  3. Wow, that's very commendable! I think its excellent that Lucasfilm does pay so much attention to detail, and of course, as intellectual owners of the SW property they have the right to demand changes. I've read that George Lucas personally has always been very enthousiastic about Lego Star Wars, and I believe he has been quoted as saying the Lego sets are his favorite SW toy merchandising franchise. And as I have said before and will again, this set still remains great value for money.
  4. The Lego Ambassador Mahjqa seems to have had contact with Steve Witt who has given an explaination (of sorts) for the sudden price raise. Linky Sorry, site is mostly in Dutch... My order status page is back in working order after I made a complaint to S@H about not being able to see any older orders than the most recent one... I can now see that my order for the 10188 DS is still at the original price of €299, so no problems there. What I am slightly irked about is the fact that S@H did make a change in my order of the discounted 7211 ISD, which I ordered when it was on back-order until the 22nd of October, but which will now be dispatched on the 24th of November!
  5. 2162, the Hydro Reef Wrecker!!! Not bad at all! Actually, this is the first time I've ever even seen this set... looks like a dark ages set for me.
  6. I too completed the re-registration process with succes, but the problem I am encountering is this: when I check my order status I do see the whole row of orders I've made in the past, but when I click on any of them, including the 10188 DS which is still 'in process', I only get to see my most recent order, (which happens to be the discount 7211 Star Destroyer and two bag charms). So I can't actually see any older orders! It also means that even if I wanted to (which I don't) I couldn't cancel the 10188 DS order at the moment...
  7. This is what I think: the ones who did pre-order in time will get the set at the 'discount' price, as we did get the order confirmation. In this regard, the term 'confirmation' is quite important, as it implies a reached agreement / contract about product AND price between buyer (us) and seller (TLC). A one-sided change by the seller, just because the seller wants to change the price, does not make any earlier reached agreements about price and product any less legally binding. And this change in price is not a legally strong enough reason to cancel the order by TLC; it would take something much more drastic to legally allow a breach of contract (like for example, TLC going bankrupt). Still, it would help if S@H would fix their whole order and account site, because right now, the 'order status' page doesn't work properly and I am unable to see the status of my own 10188 order due to a later order I placed.
