  1. This FBTB post is true for Canadian TRUs. Picked up the CDN$75 Solar Sailer for CDN$57. And you can combine 2 or more sets from any of the 4 themes (or price range) and get 25% off the lot! Great deal, especially with the appearance of the Solar Sailer, City Farm sets, and Power Miners Exclusive Boulder Blaster.
  2. I like it! Almost looks like a cross between a Super Battle Droid, a BSG Cylon Centurion, and The Iron Giant...
  3. I would suspect they might be the 3 sets below Ambush in Cairo and Fighter Plane Attack. The one directly below Ambush looks to be 7196 Chauchilla Cemetery as it appears that might be a Mutt mini-fig and the one to it's right could be Temple of Doom if you follow the number pattern (7195-7197 on the left, vertically, and 7198 and 7199 on the right) Or maybe whomever took the pictures got "caught" before he could complete this task!
  4. Interestingly enough is that TRU is not having their usual 25% off all LEGO the week before Xmas I remember from working TRU 5 years ago (during the Xmas season) we were always told to keep new LEGO in the back until after Xmas so they wouldn't be available for purchase during this sale...that new LEGO would be for full MSRP after Xmas...I remember catching some new LEGO on Boxing Day at 25% off because they forgot to take down the signs! So, now, with 2009 LEGO being made available is the removal of this sale...Of course flyers are planned months in advance so TRU knew this was coming (and probably required due to low remaining 2008 stock) and they have to make as much as possible (MSRP+) now before everyone "tightens their belt" in the new year (due to the "current global economic crisis", the current "catch-all phrase" nowadays). Merry Xmas All and Happy Hunting and Building!
  5. I picked up a couple of Box4Blox for the kids for Xmas. Looks promising and will give it a try! With the whole assortment, from larger plates to small fiddly bits they were always dumping the bin or unloading the bags on the floor. As for clean-up...kids don't put things back where they got it from!
  6. Theme Name: Civilizations Characters: One or two time travelers and, dependent on the civilization of the release, thinking Aztecs, Egyptians, Cavepeople, Babylonians, Vikings, etc... Conflict: If there needs to be one rather than exploratory, maybe a race (against evil guys) to collect items from different civilizations to bring back to the future to unlock "a great truth" Setting: All over...and dependent on release...maybe Ancient Egypt sets for one release, Ancient Rome for another... Background Info: This would need to be tied into some ongoing comic or something for backstory but the general premise is that 2 individuals have come upon the means to travel through time. Initially I'm envisioning a exploratory adventure (i.e. visit new civilizations and dress the part) but a sub-theme could be added where they must collect items from the past to unlock "something". Ancient Egypt could include sets ranging from small chariots and bazaar stands to temples or small pyramids...the artifact here could be a golden cat or something, which could be randomly distributed among the sets...(ratio 4 out of 5) to add a hunt component. The next release could be sets surrounding Ancient Rome with small shops and temples... Yes, needs some more work but I think you can get the idea! PS. and not like that Time-twisters theme back in the 90s...the concentration here would be on the Civilizations visited and not vehicles. PPS. And when those are covered they can move forward and visit other Cultures....Oriental, Wild West,...
  7. OK...I'm in as well
  8. I am in as well...thanks for running this raffle :) It'll be like a birthday present from EB! Hmmm started page 16!
  9. I take that back...according to the Visual Dictionary the Twilight (Corellian 69 Rigger freighter) makes a return ..."Anakin tinkers with the freighter and takes a liking to her- restored to working order and given a few special modifications..." Also, seems it was originally purchased by Ziro.
  10. I think we all need to remember that initially "The Clone Wars" was to be a Animated TV series directed by Filoni. It was only when George decided to become more involved that, upon seeing the first 3 episodes in a screening that he figured it would look good as a movie. From what I understand they have 100 episodes planned and have completed 50 of them complete now! Apart from the Twilight, The LEGO sets were chosen from the TV series and were chosen to be iconic to the Clone Wars. We will see the current LEGO vehicles in upcoming episodes as well as further sets based on the upcoming episodes...which means more anime-inspired versions of more characters. And, I foresee another Y-Wing as it was in the Clone Wars era that this craft was "created", and has been featured in the Visual Dictionary. Also expecting Asaaj and Dooku's craft as well and different incarnations of the Jedi Starfighter (Plo Koon's, Kit Fisto's, etc.)
  11. As much as I am a fan of the LSW franchise... NOOOOOOOOOOO!
  12. Saw this on Brickshelf a couple days ago and took me awhile to find out that it's not for general release?! I would so want one of these if it was released... Coincidentally just saw this program called Really Big Things (on The Learning Channel) where they went through the GE Windmill factory at Salzbergen, Germany following the build...awesome stuff...85 tonnes and 328ft high!
  13. A needed solution to those blasted flick missles from falling out while swooshing. *sweet* Wonder if the range might have an issue seeing it's held in there but who knows, maybe they now "pop" out with a greater velocity than a mere finger flick? I had resorted to technic 1/2 bushings (smooth) to lock in the missile's technic axle (with stud).
  14. Response from Claw over on FBTB. "Damn.. I don't believe this! I cracked open my box again to verify, and indeed I do have #1952. [picture below] I hope the other guy would check and double check. That cannot be right." Both Claw and I (winbrant) are from Alberta, Canada
