  1. The question should probably be, not who will go off topic, but how many posts will it take before it goes off topic.
  2. At least there is some possibility of Europe getting some Lego stores. With such a small population (just over 4 million) there's absolutely no chance they will open a store here in New Zealand.
  3. Worked fine for me, it opens another window containing the pictures. It must be some setting on your browser that is stopping it.
  4. It's all very well posting that article jipay, but it still does not show a list of the colours Lego are going to keep. I repeat, I would like to see the list of the 56 colours and hopefully also see examples of which sets the various colours can be found in. I did see a partial list on Lugnet a while ago, but no-one seemed to be able to agree exactly which Lego named colours matched which AFOL/Peeron/etc named colours. As an example, in the list I saw, Lego listed 2 colours, Nougat and Light Nougat, obviously these are internal Lego names for colours, but which colours do they match up to ? ? ? Do they match Dark Tan and Tan or what ? ? ? So, I think a COMPLETE list of the 56 colours complete with translations for what we call the colours is now overdue. Comments anyone ? ? ?
  5. While on the subject of the Color Change, has anyone got a CONFIRMED list of colours that Lego are going to keep ? What I would like to see (preferably from Lego, not an interpretation by others) is a list of the colours Lego intend to keep, and where there is confusion as to what each shade really is, then for Lego to give specific examples of which set contains items in that particular colour.
  6. I don't know about you guys, but looking over some of the other posts by #1legofreak it seems to me as if he/she is just posting for the sake of getting their post count up. Sorry if this seems blunt or offensive, but most of what that person has to say looks (to me anyway) as though they are just trying to start arguments (trolling anyone ? ? ?)
  7. Hey Guys, they might make you sick, and you might not like how they look, but as far as I'm concerned, if they encourage Lego to produce better models then I'm all for them. Actually, if you compare the models Megablocks are releasing now, to the ones they originally released (12+ years ago), the quality has improved considerably. It makes me wonder what they will be like in another 10 or 12 years.
  8. Hi Aeturnus - the word I had was that the NZ store will be "The Warehouse", about the only good thing about that is, they often have 50% off sales.
  9. Hey Aeturnus, just checked and saw you live in Auckland, you have my deepest commiserations. Try moving down country to a decent spot (Wellington)
  10. David85 wrote Hmmm, maybe a typo, but just maybe speaking his mind ? ? ?
  11. Whatever shade of red it is, it's still RED, and as far as I'm concerned, no use to me for building a castle.
  12. The first Nurnberg one was best, hopefully this is not another example of Lego ruining a good design, after all, look what they have done to the Viking line.
  13. Just a few observations. 1) - That ain't no tank - mobile self-propelled thingie maybe, but definitely not a tank. 2) - The buggy - nothing special about that, the dino looks like someone puked on it. 3) - The small buggy (sprinter) - can't even see any usable parts there - no comment re the "dino" ? 4) - The Hummer ? - yeah, right - looks like it must be at least 12 feet tall if not more when you take the gun into account and as for the dino's, if you fed the purple one at least Fred Flinstone would feel at home. 5) - The Helicopter - ignoring the dino, this is about the only semi-decent model, but it still reminds me of something from GI Joe, so I guess it might appeal to the kids, but you can bet that the price won't appeal to the parents ! ! ! As a finale to this post ? at least that's 5 sets I don't have to find money for.
  14. The thing that interests me is that I have seen a dealers catalog here in New Zealand that clearly showed the Viking series as being released this year. There was absolutely ZERO mention of the Dino series, not even as blank boxes (which is how they displayed the four Harry Potter sets). So, I guess its very much a wait and see time.
  15. Very disapointed that the doors are red, looks like this set is going from a "buy as soon as it appears" to a "wait for PEERON's parts list to see if I can use most of the parts". It seems to be a current trend with Lego, show some good pictures as preliminary sets, then turn them over to a bunch of un-talented idiots to (sarcasm on) "improve" (sarcasm off)
  16. I've allready got a beard, just need to remember where I've left that bloody hammer ! ! !
  17. Has anyone else noticed that the Viking Hammers seem to have vanished from any pictures ?
  18. Am I the only one to notice this ? ? ? Check out the Bellville Ice Queen set, in the background is a fir tree that has the top one third white, with the rest green - hopefully it is the real thing and will appear in other sets ?
  19. I have to agree, each time Lego "improves" the Viking models, they get more and more dissapointing. We went from looking at a Nordic style castle, to something a bunch of marooned space nerds have built. Fair enough, Lego are attempting to build in playability (yeah, I know, it's for kids), but honestly, putting those stupid WW2 style gun-shield aming things next to the wall catapults is pushing it a bit far. And as for that pile of crap on the top of the (I assume) prison building ! ! ! ! What the hell is it meant to be ? It's obviously some kind of catapult device, but it doesn't even look like one. Hopefully, that ugly pile of space junk will disappear before the next pictures. If it is still there when the set is released, then in my opinion, Lego have ruined what promised to be a good design. Why can't they go with the instincts of the preliminary designer and quit trying to improve (ruin) a good idea.
  20. Hi Bloody Jay, your mention earlier of a rumour of a new "Historic" theme is the first time I've come across it on any of the sites I visit. Can you eloborate on this at all ? eg where you heard it ? how reliable was the source ? etc Thanks
  21. I agree with TheBrickster in that I would prefer more traditional style walls, thats why I posted earlier stating that the first version of the fort was (is) far superior to the latest version. As for the catapult contraption, I can find NO reference anywhere that Vikings used catapults, so in my opinion, that is just another unneccessary gimmick. As for the "huge iron gates" (sorry brickmaster but) they remind me of the large gates in one of Megabloks dragon sets and are not a patch on the original wooden style gates that Lego originally built. As for the dragons, yeah, they look ok, but I'll reserve judgement on those until I've actually seen them
  22. Sorry guys, had to register so I could post about the castle instead of just lurking. This has to be the worst pile of dreck I've ever seen, the original Viking castle looked (to me) 10 times better than this pile of garbage. Currently this means that (probably) the only Viking sets I will buy, will be the ship (assuming that stays as it was first shown, of course)
