  1. You're going to make the rest of us envious of your massive collection!
  2. You have valid points, there. The polybags suck. But is that really so unusual? TLG wants to promote the series to a demographic not ordinarily interested in LOTR, not to satisfy the intrests of LOTR fans. They are certain to get our money, already. They know that for sure.
  3. I love this! Your creative usage of colors and textures really makes this stand out from the rest. The round tiles and brick-bricks put this over the top!
  4. Ho, Ho, man, I love that barbeque. All the silly details are just wonderful, thanks for sharing!
  5. Captain on deck! All hands to your posts! Great model. Fantastic photos, too. This model made me tingly all over, like standing too close to the antimatter reactor or something. I was going to try to work on my cars today, but for now I'm just going to veg on the couch with some ST on netflix. Thanks alot!
  6. I agree with Gryphon Ink, TLG should consider some different outfits for the minidolls once in a while. Girls would be espesially compelled to collect the different dolls if they sometimes had new outfits. With the summer sets being beach themed, they could make them in swimsuits or wetsuits. I mean, why does she even come with flippers? Is she going to snorkel in that skirt? What, she's just supposed to walk around in wet clothes all day then? Bullocks, I say! Good review by the way.
  7. Brilliant idea, Wonderful execution. That dosn't look tike the Pope in the Popemobile. Did some shady character rustle the holy father's wheels? That's not very nice if he did.
  8. This is going to be too much fun, I can hardly wait!
  9. Nice, you have great techniques. I would like to copy the vending machine on your flicr.
  10. Well, I think the flesh (and other colors involved) look perfect for LOTR. The set designs reflect scenes and characters we saw in Peter Jackson's beautiful films. If, on the other hand, the films were never made, and all we had to go on was our own interpretations of Tolkien's stories, the designs could be a lot more open to interpretation. I guess that's what MOCing is for, yellow figs and all. Besides that, movies seem to be what makes product lines marketable. Minifigs should be made to look like their movie influences, and that is usually flesh.
  11. I really wanted to go to this, I live really close and if I weren't so busy, I could've gone. I really liked the buildings the most, especially the red colonial one, nice.
  12. The elves go marching two by two, hurrah! Nice. Do you think you will ignore SW for a while to work on more fantasy type stuff? Or is SW still number one?
  13. Nice review, I already have one, but several more wouldn't hurt.
  14. They're kind of cute, and they remind me of old time racers.
  15. This "handyman special" should be on the front page of the local LEGO real estate listings.
  16. Holy Smokes, dude! You are like all inside my head, man. The American 1950's is my favorite era. You capture the lines of those classic cars very well. The '59 Caddy hearse and '58 Plymouth are my absolute favorite cars in real life. I build custom vehicles part-time and those two are the ones I would keep for myself if I ever have the chance. You just made my whole day! thanks, mate.
  17. Lucky!! You are going to have one huge keep with plenty of figs. Sweet.
  18. I'll be modding a Helm's Deep set like this, too. If only I can keep my kids' from helping with their pink and white "Friends" pieces and minidolls..
  19. I like to think TLG has some dedicated pirate specialists engineering the next series right now. Let's just give the artists time to work their magick. I think we will be surprised to see what wonderful ideas they've come up with. Until then, I will MOC and Mod and enjoy what I've got. Also LOTR is keeping us busy, precious.
  20. Sweet! Even better than TLG's.
  21. My Gramma bought me my first few LEGOs. In 1986, I got #1572 super tow truck. I still Have it. I still have all my LEGOs. I always kept them clean and organized in seperate zipper bags for each set, with minifigs and the instructions.
  22. Really nice, if only I could keep my kids from playing with it.
  23. Sure, it's all good, squeeze away! Sometimes I close my eyes and start squeezing and feeling the air around the display, hoping the perfect figure gently nests itself in my sweaty, anxious hands.
  24. Meijer has it for $105.99 and the small one for $34.99
  25. Number 10 / 3 votes (realistic) Number 6 / 2 votes (aesthetic) Number 12/ 1 vote (aesthetic) Number 13 / 1 vote (clever) I know you all worked really hard on your models, these are just my favorites.
