"You're like children. Remember who killed most of those clowns, remember that. And remember what you were doing back then, cowering. I was fine with everyone giving their say, but apparantly that isn't good enough to satisfy the greed of Ablesword." "And besides that. It was mostly OUR party that used our resources to get up those that fell. Including people out of yours, Ablesword. There is NOTHING that you can say to make your actions seem anything other than jealousy and spite. You better watch your step in Baltarok, boy."
-
"Know when you're spoken to, Carvenhall."
-
"I am not going to take the risk, Nerwen. I've made my point, I can not in good concience back down. You know it's not about the gold. Despite Carvenhall's antics, he respects you, and will listen to you if you tell him to fall in line... Jess is someone I don't know. Ablesword though... Is a fool, watch yourself out there."
-
The raider smiled, and moved closer to Nerwen. "Heh, this is what I expected from you. It's a mistake for them to put him in the lead over you... I am however, not, second in command."
-
"Appreciate it. If there's anything you feel you need to say, but think to yourself you better not, say it to me."
-
"Enough. Haldor. In contrast to the tin can, you should always keep the captain of your ship happy."

Ragnarök Now Redux - Day Four
Scubacarrot replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Dagstyrr's pretty much confirmed scum, didn't answer concerns and all that, was as vague as possible, blames time constraints well into the day... -
Then Hoke should have tried an appeasing strategy instead of sticking to his guns.
-
The raider's characteristic smirk returned to his face. "Very well."
-
"It's actually much simpler than that. Ablesword is undermining my command. And he's neglecting the party under my command, I can not let that slide. In this position we are at equal rank, it wouldn't be right, for a man, for a human maybe, for me, to let that slide."

What I would do in such a case if something happens unexpectedly for the player, maybe rule it once in his favor, and when he knows, do it your way the rest of the time. I doubt there are things you can to build your character that could impact a huge deal. The player is a hypothetical he, in this case.

"Appreciate what you're trying to do Benji, but that doesn't fly. We're doing it my way, or Ablesword's swimming the rest of the way to Baltarok." "You're jumping then?"
-
This is a thing that I've noticed more and more. Do we really, really need to lay down every single thing? Can QM's not be allowed to rule things for themselves anymore? As long as a QM is consistent in his own quest so players know what to expect, does every single little tiny thing have to be documented? It's a moderately sized pet peeve of mine.

I thought that was actually stated somewhere.

Permission to have Guts have a fistfight with Hoke Ablesword, sir!
-
"Bullcrap."
-
"Not. Going to happen."
-
"Are you seasick or something?" The raider raised an eyebrow at the knight's proposed loot distribution, he aimed to TAKE gold from him, he'd have to do some work, to make that happen, but Guts could find a tad of admiration for the lad's 'bravure'. "Someone check the guy for wounds, blades that are stuck, I think he might be delirious." Then, looking some more at the proposed distribution, the raider's smirk turned quickly into a frown. "Joke's over, little knight. You aim to give your group a clear advantage here. Not gonna happen. What I dished out was fair for all involved. The Captain's declared no weaponclattering between her passengers, and I am not going to go against that, but we're going with what I said." The raider's voice had turned into a dry rasp by this point.
-
I mean, it's a single turn every round, surely.
-
What do you think?
-
"It's already done, if you hadn't noticed." The raider remarks dryly.
-
"As appointed by who?" The raider rises to his full height, which, granted his footwear, was not amazingly high, still, there was something to the gesture. "You led the charge, barely, because I let you, make no mistake about your role in this."
-
"You're welcome, Fenral. Hm. Unless there's significant amounts to gain, you might want to consider if you want to take the chance of getting knocked out instantly, or being left to fight if you get it. Friendly advice, from your current group leader." "It's done, Ablesword. Deal with it." The raider nods at Benji. "Glad you... approve. I like the lizard-trick, by the way."
-
"Right then." Guts quickly divides the loot, with upmost efficiency. He was the leader of the second party after all, which is something else entirely than secondary party leader.
