  1. Wishing you a speedy return to the interwebs!
  2. I am envious of your photographic prowess - very good work. Giving a static model the impression of dynamic movement is not an easy task, but you have managed to do so. You can almost feel the impact of the two warriors about to collide
  3. Oh dear, I had missed that in the original post This build is fantastic - If anyone has not checked out the Brickshelf link I urge you to do so. The whole build has a feel of having no wasted space, which would have been true of cities then as it is now. Great colour choices and detailing on all the buildings, they are each unique but none seem out of place. Excellent work.
  4. The cap on the 'wrapping troll' is just hilarious! Excellent build!
  5. Fantastic detail on this. I really like the smashed stained glass window, the broken statue and the grave outside. Additionally, the pictures do a great job of capturing the emotion of the moment - the Priest is perfect and I don't think I have ever seen an angrier looking 'Angry mob" ;-)
  6. Wow - I can see that so much work has gone in to that sand dune - but well worth it. The curvature looks very natural, which is incredibly difficult to achieve with plates. And the tower has an authentic weathered look. Good job
  7. No you are 100% correct - it was $AUD 200. The price differential when compared to the $USD 120 was a source of some irritation for a friend of mine who flatly rejected the idea of getting it as a consequence. The $180 is a little more reasonable...
  8. I really like the use of the curved pieces, and the way the watchtower seems to be integrated in to the natural cliff face is very well done
  9. And it lights up too!
  10. I like the 'layered' look with al the different balconies, and the ramp up and hoist are nice touches too. Looking forward to more photos! ES
  11. Wow. This is epic. I think this might be the biggest round 1 entry I have seen. Love the use of shape and colour, very dramatic and imposing. The stand alone spires at the front of the model are particularly nice. Excellent work.
  12. I'll second that! Lovely job on all of the woodwork in this build.
  13. Some original and brilliant use of parts in this masterful build and I really like the contrast of the black and white bricks on the tower walls. Excellent job!
  14. Hilarious review! Thanks so much for your work on this!
  15. Terrific balcony, and the tower roof is tremendous too
  16. Love the contrast of the white against the sand colours, and excellent job working in your guilds own colours in to the build; blends in seamlessly. The shapeing on the tower is nice too.
  17. This looks wonderful. Really nice use of both colour and elements to achieve a very dramatic finish. Looks like it's just on 32x32 by my count, but I did get lost counting 4 or 5 times...
  18. Wonderful use of shape for the tower, and I really like the signal horn. The snow is just perfect, excellent job.
  19. Brilliant detail on the door, door frame and window.
  20. Coastal watchtower has been competed and posted And now just for fun, under the 'war machine' challenge banner, a large chariot. Once a year, just before harvest season, the Ogre tribe of Widow's Pass travel to bring tribute to Lord Ssilyrrlith, and to reaffirm their alleigance by swearing a blood oath. ES
  21. The seas to the north of the Eastern Darklands are perilous and filled with danger. Most vessels stick close to the well charted, and guarded, shipping lanes, where the risks are greatly reduced. Few vessels will risk venturing out in to the deeper, unpatrolled waters - even the most seasoned Nocturnian Sea Captain will speak in hushed tones when talking of the ancient beasts that lie hidden within the deep cold waters in this part of the world. For those hoping to reduce the time at sea by travelling along a more direct route closer to the coast, the dangers of uncharted reefs and unpredicatble storms and currents dragging ships against the sheer cliff faces are ever present. Even the versatile Kaliphlinian Merchantmen find difficulty in negotiating these currents, and the jagged rocks would tear a hole in the hull of even the mightiest Avalonian Frigate. The only sailors bold, or reckless, enough to risk such perils are Mitgardian mariners. Their longboats and longships lie shallow in the water, reducing the risk of damage by reef, and their manouverability by use of both sail and oar power gives them an advantage when negotiating the currents. While Mitgardia does not endorse the infrequent raids in to the lands of Nocturnus conducted by some of the rogue elements of her lands, the raids have been a source of diplomatic tension between the two empires. For this reason, watch towers were set up along the Old Coast Road between Nocturnus and Mitgardia. These watchtowers allow the guards to report on the movement of vessels outside of the normal trading lanes, and to allow local villages time to take precautionary measures should a raid be suspected. The watchtowers also serve as a place for legitimate traders and travellers, from all empires, to rest and resupply when traversing the Old Coast Road. The following is an example of one of the watchtowers built along the imposing northern cliff face of the Nocturnian coast. Further images via Flickr ES
  22. Have almost completed a coastal watchtower - just awaiting on the arrival of some more raw materials to finalise construction. Assuming the required lumber arrives in a timely manner the completed project should be ready for your consideration and review this weekend.
  23. Innovative use of the door pieces - I really like this!
  24. Wow. Just wow. Brilliant use of colours on this, subtly blends with the rest of your MOC and the Avalonia scheme. Very much looking forward to seeing how you went about many of the details on this. Excellent work once again
