  1. I've used a lot of the techniques seen in Soundwave to create Blaster. Still a work in progress as I have some parts on order. Thoughts? Anything you'd change?
  2. I've attempted Jazz a few times. And while this is still in the early stages (it still needs the doors/arms and hood/windscreen), this is as close as I've got to a version I'm quite happy with. It was a happy accident that the feet ended up being in the right position to be the seats. FYI - the bumper is maroon - although it looks brown here. This is mainly because (as of right now) I don't have the parts in bright red.
  3. Where are you ordering from? In the UK Soundwave has been available on the Lego store website with delivery being in 3-5 working days. And I've it in the stores too. It was available to LEGO insiders from 4 August, and then 8th of August for everyone else/
  4. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=15535pb19#T=S&C=11&O={"color":11,"iconly":0} £4.99
  5. Yes, but only one. There were 4 in total in the bags (2 for Laserbeak, 1 for Ravage and one spare).
  6. So while the Soundwave set is pretty awesome, I was disappointed with how bulky Laserbeak's backpack was, and with the poor use of space around the legs (and that they are fixed at a 90-degree angle). So here are my instructions for a variation that solves these problems. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1B8nRDbj3h_wKlVPB-4t1iwDGVHXNN91i/view?usp=sharing
  7. Someone asked for instructions for Frenzy. This is a version that matches the official Soundwave casette size and style. The grey corners aren't very stable so you might want to swap those and the black half round tile, with a 2x2 corner cut plate. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QsNDWcrY0_SdV_5p6tREz1x6og-zWyET/view?usp=sharing
  8. Will need a printed face. I did have one constructed, but it just won't fold up neatly. Edit With some complex stud reversal, I managed to put the reels on his back. The only issue is that his chin pokes out 2p in cassette mode.
  9. Ordered mine on 1 Aug. I also had a load of pick a brick coming so I now have Buzzsaw. I've also attempted Frenzy using similar techniques to Laserbeak. Will post when done. Luckily the instructions are now available for Soundwave so can pick through their approaches.
  10. That's a massive compliment thank you. I still think the fins at the back would be improved. I'm going to attempt Rumble and and Frenzy again but aiming for a 8x6 build. It means that they'll fit in the official set but be the correct proportions.
  11. So I've made an attempt to copy (although I didn't have all the right parts) the official Laserbeak, but I've shrunk it to 8x5 (instead of 8x6) to get closer to a cassette aspect ratio, and make the fins less blocky / chunky:
  12. I'm a bit torn. On the one hand it's kept faithful to the alt mode, but I'm not convinced that his robot mode really looks like the G1. There's too many visible hinges etc which don't feature in the cartoons (like the thighs). His arms look too weedy, and the cassette space is too square. I will still buy this but there's a good chance I'll mod it to beef up the arms, and fix the cassette shape (if that's possible).
  13. Thanks. If I've found the right one, it says the cassettes are 8*6. That's a shame as the ones I have designed are 9*6 and more than bare bones. If it does turn out that it's 8*6, and the cassettes aren't great, I may try to rework these into a smaller size - and release the instructions.
  14. Have you got a link I couldn't fund anything more than since end of May.
  15. Nothing official no, but this was posted on 25 May 2025: https://tformers.com/lego-10358-transformers-soundwave-builder-new-details-on-rumored-new-release/55101/news.html
  16. Here's hoping we get one of them at least with Soundwave, then we can use that as a template for doing others.
  17. I thought I'd turn my hand to Fenzy, as well as seeing what might be possible at the same scale for Ravage (a lot more complex and I don't think I've nailed the head yet).
  18. The original toy and lots of subsequent movies and shows they swap colours. If you count the occurrences there are actually more times where Rumble is red and black. But I think Lego are following the 80s original tv show, which Rumble is blue.
  19. Something like this: Although I was limited by the colours of the parts I had.
  20. I would say blue, purple, and grey.
  21. Even if we only get one or two cassettes, seeing how Lego have done them will enable us to copy / amend to create a whole range. I can't wait.
  22. Spooky, I just started designing a Hot Rod lego. Long way to go, and hope they do him or some other sports car Transformer.
  23. I always took the variation as being just the use of white to represent shiny metal, but later uses of grey as a dull metal. But it's a great point that I never even considered as I come from the very start and grown up with the variations over time.
  24. Haha, no he's just a work in progress. I do think they'll be able to do Lazerbeak pretty well, even with my slightly limited parts I've made improvements compared to the original Buzzsaw. So I'm sure some clever person at Lego would find an even better way of doing cassettes that fit his chest.
  25. Yeah, or someone like Jazz or shockwave. I can't wait to see how they do Soundwave, and hope they get everything including arms folded neatly away unlike my attempt.
