I agree it doesn't look great, and the design on his face looks off. As for the rest of what you're saying, I think you're going way too deep with it. There's a roller coaster at Disneyland that has Slinky as the literal rollercoaster, with the carts being fit in between his coils, there's scenes in the Toy Story films where Slinky has stuff in between his coils - saying "you can't insert books into the middle of his coils" is silly, and realistically, can be done. He's also a toy, there's no reason he can't split in half, either, lol. Dog themed book ends have been a thing for a long, long time - with the head at one end, and the tail at the other - and given the long body type of a dachshund, they're a very popular and common design when it comes to dog book ends. Slinky is very obvious based on a dachshund, and the idea of Toy Story Slinky book ends have been done by other companies in the past. If you literally google "dachshund bookends" you'll find a tonne of listings, and (at least in my country) not just drop shipping sites like amazon, actual reputable retail stores selling them; using a character from a popular IP that is also a dachshund only makes sense. I understand what you're saying, and sometimes a Lego set is bad simply because it's bad; this isn't one of them. This set is bad because it looks horrible and has poor execution, not because the entirety is bad. They could very easily have still made Slinky function as a pair of bookends, omitted the brick built books from the set, and used those pieces to make Slinky look better, or discard the pieces and lower the set price. Iirc, of all the Lego book ends/nooks we have thus far, Wicked is the only one to include brick built books, and that one at least has the books built into the design and functionality. Here, the books are there, quite literally, for the sake of it, and to ramp up the price and piece count. Slinky can still be displayed as a buildable character, it's not like he can only be displayed as a pair of bookends - and even then, saying it's "bad" when we only have two low quality images of it, doesn't allow anyone to judge it fairly. Would the overall design look better if it was a dedicated brick built figure, not books needed? Maybe, maybe not, who can say. Regardless, trying to say using Slinky as a pair of bookends doesn't work or make sense, well that just comes across as petulant more than anything, IMO. There's literal data to back the concept, now if they were trying to do this using Bullseye, Rex, or Hamm, etc... fair criticism. You can't say that for Slinky. I just don't think Slinky translates well from a character to a toy. He has dead eyes, and many toys made of him (even official Disney merch), just have him look dead inside. The idea of using Slinky as a pair of bookends is a great idea, It's a great idea, it works, there's a market for it, it makes sense, and the - I really don't think anyone can deny the idea of doing doesn't make sense on paper - unfortunately, the overall design, and execution of it, is absolutely abhorrent. -

Could be irrelevant, tho issue #27 of the (latest) lego jurassic magazine has a new look mosasaur on the cover. I know we have the sketch of the upcoming set, this might also be some indication of how it may look? idk -

Wouldn't be the first time. There's two Nasa Apollo sets (21309 and 20139) BOTH having 1,969 pieces, referencing the moon landing in 1969. The Mona Lisa (31213) has 1,503 pieces, and 1503 is when the painting was started. There's some more with the piece count being an easter egg, and then we all know there's a tonne of easter eggs in so many sets that reference something that would easily go past someones head. Not saying I necessarily believe, or agree that it'll be a raptor because of that; it's not entirely outside the realm of possibility tho -
I'm looking forward to the East Wing, and I agree I don't think the CoS will be anything substantial. Poster above that said it might be a slide out, think they're right on the money. Makes me glad I picked up the previous CoS set! I always wanted to grab the OG from the 2000's and never did as a child. I would love a full scaled (modern) set where the chamber is the main build, tho I think the previous iteration is more than good enough for me. Looking forward to the new basilisk mould tho!

You're right in the sense that we can't know for sure until we get confirmation, I just don't see it being anything other than a baby brick built Dino. Like I said, the naming of the set follows the three other baby brick built dinosaurs: Little Eatie: T. Rex Baby Dinosaur Dolores: Aquilops Baby Bumpy: Ankylosaurus and now we're set to have "Baby Dinosaur: Pteranodon" They all follow the pattern of Name Colon Species. I honestly do not see why this upcoming one wouldn't be the same -

Given the naming scheme follows Dolores, Bumpy and Little Eatie, most likely itll be a brick built baby and not based off JP3 -

It's fake Some guy literally posted it on reddit/twitter as fan art, and now people have taken it as real. -
I won't lie, it's a bit disappointing the larger piece count didn't go to the museum. The biggest set of the wave is a bit of a let down, but im not upset by the museum build at all! They managed to fit in a tonne of stuff, and the hinges on the side for display purposes is great. Only thing I don't like is the roost being crammed into the corner... rather they just not include that, and instead have the roost be its own set.

Idk if there is another set? 76971 got “skipped” which is odd because it lies between the brick built Aquillops (76970) and the raptor set (76972), so idk, it MIGHT be under such strict embargo, but it’s strange we haven’t seen any piece count or cost for it idk I want a D Rex lmao -

Are we missing a set that could potentially really have the D Rex? I’m not on top of all the set numbers we can expect in saying that, all these are great. Only one I’m not sold on are the two brick built dinosaurs (Mosa and Aqu), will probably pick up those two sets at some stage tho if they go on sale / but just the way Aquillops is done, especially how it’s posed on the box art, it looks like a giant ground sloth?? The other sets are 10/10 tho! i really wanted the new Quetz Color scheme too but already have the JWD one so wasn’t planning on getting the set unless it was appealing, but I wanted the Spino so since it comes in that set, I’m very happy haha. T rex river set looks nice, but I know it’s going to be expensive. Do wish the Rex came in a different Color tho (edit: actually I think it is a new Color scheme, I just thought it was a repeat because it’s a cross of the common tan/gray and tan/brown Rex we’ve gotten ample times before?) Nice to see a new raptor mould, just wish it had some orange on it which we’ve seen from the leaked renders. Baby Aqullops is very cute, too! a bit sad to see they’re also not painting the claws of them anymore, so it anyone has any experience doing that themselves shoot me a DM because I’d love to know which paints to use! -

They were very clearly under an embargo that lifted once the first trailer came out After the first trailer dropped, both Mattel and Lego showed off their Dino designs and toys from dinosaurs which were shown in the trailer - it’s also why we only got dinosaur reveals and not actual set reveals, most likely the sets they appear in were not shown in the trailer, thus they’re still under embargo - not the most difficult thing to understand -

JW Mosa is very inconsistent with its sizing. In JW it’s already bigger than a standard IRL mosasaur, then it’s shown to be even bigger in JWFK, larger than the largest known IRL Mosa. Its size changes constantly from 16ft - 37ft, plus a whole lot in between. The Mosa we’ve seen for Rebirth is smaller than the JW Mosa -

I don’t see why not. Like I said previously here, considering so many merchandise companies revealed their merch at the same time, I’d assume they’re under embargo and that’s when it lifted. Each brand only showed off the same thing, the Dino’s for T. Rex, Mosa, Spino, Titanosaur and Quetz. We know there are more dinosaurs in this film, and I assume they’re still under embargo until they’re revealed in an official trailer, so I’m positive there will be new Dino’s in this wave (at least one smaller medium mild Dino), but they were only allowed to show what Dino’s were shown on the trailer -

Ok so turns out I’m a leaker by accident LOL. I’ll take credit for willing them into existence, you’re welcome as for why they just randomly got revealed and not the sets, I’d say the embargo lifted because so much other Rebirth merch and figures got revealed, too. It is weird they just showed the Dino’s and not the sets, so I’d guess it’s part of Universal’s marketing/promo strategy for the film. They just want to show off their Dino’s first -

Obviously idk the budget for the wave, but given the synopsis of the film, I'd assume the three titans are going to get their own set - Titanosaur, Quetzal, and Mosasaur. I'm not super familiar wth the moulding process, but can see tweaks on the existing Brach and Quetz mold to save some coin. As for the rest, I'd say mutant big bad is a shoe in, and that makes four potential new moulds... I really want a Spino bad, but I don't know if there's budget there for one? Dominion wave gave us 5(?) new Dinos, the Atrociraptor, Giga, Quetz, Pyro and Theri - and I believe the Pyro, Quetz, and Atroci were all new molds, the Giga reused the Indo's head (idk if legs and arms were new, I know the body was new tho), and the Theri reused the Bary (or Indo raptor) Torso, and reused legs I think? So maybe there IS room to have the big three titans, the mutant, and Spino? I hope so Selfishly, I'd want the mutant to be brick built - not only would that save budget for other Dinos that they can actually reuse later, but given the fact its a mutant, being brick built would help it stand out against molded dinosaurs. Also could see the Mosa being half-half, much like Payakan in the avatar 2 sets -

That's not true at all. First of all, Lego games aren't even made by lego, the license is sold and the games are developed by TT Games, and published by whichever developer helps fund the project, which is usually WB Games. Think there's like 2 lego games that haven't been made by TT, which are Fornite, and Horizon. Granted, TT used to publish a new game every year, but stopped their annual cycle in 2019, and have only released the Skywalker Saga since, in 2022, but they're still actively working on Lego video games. A job listing at Warner Bros from September last year actually outright confirms they're working with TT games and looking to create a new lego video game "The project you will be on will be a major IP based LEGO game built in Unreal". Current speculation is it will be a collection of either Harry Potter, or DC, but Warner Brothers did publish the Lego JP game, so it's entirely possible the game they're working on is a lego JP title. It's also not uncommon for studios to have multiple projects at once. I don't think the game they're working on is a Jurassic title, but it's certainly not impossible to have a future JP lego game released in future as you're implying. Don't listen to them, they don't know what they're talking about. A new Lego game is currently in active development -

Since 76975 is 199 pieces and $50, the JW Dominion wave had the 4+ T. Rex 76944 with 140 pieces for $50, so I wouldn't be surprised if this one ended up being the 4+ set. I'd like to think it would just be a T. Rex set, because if they did a new Dino in such an overprices 4+ set, I'd assume a lot of fans would get annoyed. As for the raptor mold discussion, don't know how well it could work, but they did do some new Dino molds in the Marvel wave. Set 112000 has the baby Stego mold, and two raptor molds, which are the same size as the Atrociraptor. They just have the massive bulbous head, which I thought might have been its own piece, but the only separate piece is the lower jaw. Don't think either of them would work well because their heads are massive, and the green one wouldn't work since it has ears molded on, but I could see the Spiderman red one working? Idk But either way, that set gives us the baby Stego, and 11199 give us a baby Pteradon. I was certain we'd get them in the January wave, or at least one of them, but we did not. Hopefully they pop up in the next wave -

It just means the bricks of other Disney Lego sets are compatible. Probably something in their contract with Disney to include that in the set description, since it's included in almost all Disney Lego sets. There's an ad for one of the Encanto sets, which sums it up as, the lego bricks can enhance other sets "Inspire Encanto fans with a play-and-display gift that can enhance other sets (sold separately) in the LEGO® ǀ Disney series." -

Don’t think it’s an official reveal. A retailer has pushed it on their site early so it’s technically a leak. Jurassic seems to always a reveal closer to its release so unless we get a leak I don’t think we’ll see it anytime soon -
