  1. I found this image (the full one; this is cropped) over the last week and thought LEGO could do something like this for Robert Pattinson’s cowl in the “The Batman: Part II” sets:
  2. So much for my comment about being excited for new vitality in the DC theme. I would’ve preferred a comic based batcave or a Batfleck batcave if it were to be film-based (the former can have more figures and elements though.) Was the new cowl made specifically for these Keaton-centric/inclusive sets or was it made for the sake of being made? Because it doesn’t look enough like Keaton’s cowl to make me feel as though they made it for him specifically. If anything it looks more like they tried to make an Animated Series-type cowl for the rumored diorama coming out next year. I don’t know if it’s really being returned to its former glory though; the batcave being Keaton-based is not too much of a departure decision-wise from the UCS(-style) Keaton films’ vehicles they did previously and the leaked Penguin figure doesn’t really look like a $450 set figure. I know that some of the Daily Bugle’s figures had the same amount of detail (Daredevil only had printing in the same places; the face and torso) but they felt more consummate. The only new thing that invokes the theme returning to its former glory for me is the new cowl but it seems likely that if it was done for a specific reason that it was done for the rumored, upcoming, BTAS diorama set because it looks nothing like Keaton’s cowl and there’s yet to be anything that really, wholly speaks to the DC theme being fully revitalized to wager that it was made because of renewed life/vitality. (Come to think of it the diorama could be evidence of new vitality in the theme but that’s only a D2C or D2C-type set and at least one new mould is not atypical for such sets. And really one D2C set one year and another D2C the next with a new mould or two(?) in each set doesn’t reflect the wider theme’s quality.)
  3. To me it certainly is! I hope this new vitality is reflected in the designs of the other figures; say for instance it would be kind of nice to see a Joker minifigure in the batcave that doesn’t use the 2012 hair peace and a variation of that year’s Joker face. Things along those lines. I hope everything feels fresh.
  4. I’ve really become fond of the new cowl since the newest picture released. I’ve looked at it a fair bit. Additionally it feels like new life and/or vitality has been injected/put into the DC theme. I’m looking forward to seeing any and all of the new sets releasing.
  5. I thought I heard the type 3 cowl was originally designed for the Affleck Batman but first used for the New 52 figure due to the Dawn Of Justice sets being delayed due to the film’s delay but I could be mistaken
  6. It’s kind of interesting that this cowl doesn’t seem to be based on a live action one; the second cowl seemed to be based off Bale’s and the third Affleck’s but this is more like the first cowl where it’s a general Batman cowl. I guess it could be argued that it’s a mix of the second and third cowls to some extent.
  7. I was watching these videos where ai versions of some of the presidents rank the LEGO Star Wars battle packs and it occurred to me that LEGO could do something similar (a similar “gimmick” line that’s not Mighty Micros or mechs (that has something of an emphasis on battle)) for the superhero themes: “Versus Sets”. They would be these sets that have a hero figure and a villain figure with a side build or two (releasing two or three sets for both the Marvel and DC themes every wave); a good idea of these, arguably serving as blueprints, are the 2013 76002 Superman Metropolis Showdown and 76008 Iron Man Vs. The Mandarin: Ultimate Showdown sets. There could be “Superman Vs. Bizarro” and “Batman Vs. The Phantasm”, and for Marvel, “Wolverine Vs. Sabertooth” and “Iron Man Vs. The Crimson Dynamo”, among many others for both themes.
  8. Is the cowl not pushed down all the way? It kind of appears to be, if it isn’t at least the eyes would be more lined up with where they should be on the head, although I wonder if then there may be too much space between the chin piece and the chin.
  9. If they were to include a bigfig I think a new character like Solomon Grundy would be cooler because they could use the one bigfig inclusion for a new character (assuming they only do one, but two would be very neat, in which case they could do both (it would be really something if they had two bigfigs in the set.))
  10. I’m personally fine with either. I was initially disappointed with the change back in 2019 but I got used to it. I would’ve really loved to have seen X-Men-specific box art. There is the Wolverine mech’s box art but it’s not that different from the box art of the Iron Man and Black Panther mechs of the same wave from I what I can recall.
  11. @TakeaBrick’s profile picture made me think of it: I think it’s unlikely (which is a shame because I’d like to see it) but what if it’s either the Ben Affleck Batman’s batcave or a Ben Affleck Batman batmobile done like the Keaton batmobile and tumbler? If it’s the bat cave they could include a minifigure-sized batmobile, Batman (for the price maybe both the standard and tactical suits), Alfred, Bruce Wayne, the Jared Leto Joker (he never appeared in the batcave but he hasn’t been made yet and there’s a modicum of precedent with the Margot Robbie Harley Quinn having been included in the D2C LEGO Movie 2 set), Deathstroke, the dead Robin’s suit, plus all the Justice League members (they haven’t made a ZSJL black suit Superman (the 2013 SDCC black suit minifigure is the MoS suit but black and silver whereas the ZSJL black suit is the BvS suit but black and silver.))
  12. Is the lack of a Pattinson mold due to concept art or something of the sort? Because if it is I could see them doing a new mold for Keaton and doing a Pattinson mold for “The Batman Part II”.
  13. It would be great if it was just the Keaton cowl but with the cape removed
  14. One neat thing I noticed about the 2023 Marvel box art is that it’s reminiscent if not a newer version of the 2012-2018 box art; the 2012-2018 box art was red (with maybe a bit of black here and there) and it just said “LEGO Marvel Superheroes” with an image of the title of a film or cartoon in the bottom right corner and either a piece of concept art (or a “LEGO-ized” version thereof) of one of the film’s or cartoon’s characters in either the top right corner (in the case of at least the 2012, 2013, and 2014 sets) or the bottom right corner above the title (like with Thanos on the 2018 Infinity War box art), but in 2019 it was changed to film or cartoon-specific box arts (as seen with the 2019 Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Endgame, and Far From Home sets) which was kept until I think the last wave of 2022 if I’m not mistaken, with the 2023 Marvel box art though, the Ant Man buildable figure and GOTG Vol. 3 box arts have a general LEGO Marvel box with the film’s title and concept art of said film’s characters on the right side of the box. That’s pretty neat to me really! (Irrespective of set quality)
  15. I like your username. And I too have taken something of an interest in custom figures; around the time of “Black Adam”’s release, I found decals for the titular character online, and shortly thereafter found and searched for others like Mystique, Sabertooth, etc. They look pretty good, they seem to be made with care and love for the characters, and they fill spaces currently empty.
  16. I think this was discussed at least a little bit a page or so ago, but is there the possibility of a second set for The Flash? If the first includes Flash, the Keaton Batman, and Supergirl, then maybe a second set could include the other Barry, the Affleck Batman, and
  17. I really hope there’s a minifigure of the new Ben Affleck Batman suit in a set
  18. Some parts I’ve seen used for a purist Ben Affleck Bruce Wayne minifigure are the 2014/17 Star-Lord head and the 2018 Doctor Strange hair. I think it looks pretty good and accurate, the only unfavorable aspect to me, which is often not immensely noticeable, is that the color of the eyebrows and stubble is more so a dark brown than black, but as said before it does look good (nonetheless.) I’ve also seen at least one of the Poe Dameron faces used but it doesn’t look as accurate to me as the aforementioned Star-Lord head. On the subject of purist Alfreds, I’ve seen some, and while there are torsos, pairs of legs, and I think maybe even hairpieces that work, I’ve yet to see a head that’s accurate looking (or accurate enough looking) (I haven’t seen many though, so there may be a head that’s suitable.)
  19. I’d love a bricktober-like pack that comes with Jeremy Iron’s Alfred, Jared Leto’s Joker, the black and silver suit JL Superman, and Dr. Sivanna from “Shazam!”. It’d be a DCEU pack. There is at least the SDCC black and silver, MoS-style suit Superman, and there are some Jokers that could make adequate substitutes, but the lack of Irons’ Alfred and to a lesser extent Sivanna is very disappointing to me. The former is especially saddening because LEGO did all the essential BvS characters except Alfred. -below this sentence is a post I typed as a separate post but was merged with my post above- I think this may’ve been brought up before, and perhaps some would consider it odd or even inane, but do you think Disney/Marvel may be paying or forcing LEGO to not make DC sets/CMFs/etc.?
  20. I wasn’t entirely sure what the maximum amount of figures was and was a bit confused when I first read what you typed as I thought they would make/or had made an exception to the 12 figure count for licensed series, but after checking it it turns out they haven’t or didn’t which is a real shame. A comic book Atom would be really neat. Going off of this list and my list, sticking to the 12 figure count would mean that all the figures you and I brought up would take about two series to get released. Ideally there’d be sets to fill in the time between CMF releases, but this is the DC theme. Entertaining all of these possibilities and looking at what could’ve been made but hasn’t been made is disappointing. For instance, there was a design for a film-based Dr. Sivanna from “Shazam!” and they never made it. I know this sentiment has been repeated innumerable times in the last year or so, but this drought for the theme has been saddening and I hope it gets better soon.
  21. I hope it’s alright to post this here then: A potential DC CMF Series 2 roster list/wishlist: Golden Age Superman or Kingdom Come Superman Dark Knight Returns Batman A Wonder Woman Variant Guy Gardner Green Lantern Lex Luthor In Purple Jacket And Green Pants With Purple Boots Golden Age Catwoman Big Barda DeSaad Dr. Sivanna (ideally could come with a Mr. Mind “pet” akin to Loki’s Frog Thor from the Marvel Studios CMF) Dr. Fate Brainiac (Robot Form/Kenner Super Powers Version) (or Atrocitus instead) Black Adam -if there were sixteen figures- Atrocitus (keeping Brainiac) Ted Kord Blue Beetle Doctor Poison Zatanna
  22. Is there a DC wishlist thread?
  23. Thank you for mentioning those parts. I’ve seen (at least some of) them used to create some purist Black Adam figures before. They create a pretty good one as you mention but for best accuracy I’ll use the decal(s) (utilizing what’s called the “water method” if I’m not mistaken, which works pretty well for black-torso figures.) I’ll definitely use the 3626cpb2651 clone head as it looks the best to me. Another reason I’m more inclined to use the decals is because they remind me of custom figures from LEGO superhero stop motions (or even just posted to/on the internet) from the late 2000s to the early 2010s. Some would even just paint on the figures. Even if they didn’t look as accurate or neat as they could they’d have a kind of “rawness”, creativity, and passion that was really endearing. It can invoke drive and power (which it is sometimes about for me.) I’ll be using the 3626cpb2651 clone head, but the Dom head does kind of have (if it’s used to represent the movie version, which I think is what I may go for more so or mostly so) the Rock’s renowned, eyebrow expression. (it’s about drive, it’s about power; we stay hungry, we devour; put in the work, put in the hours- AND TAKE, WHAT’S OURS) (I know it became something of a meme or what have you but it actually got stuck in my head and became an “ear-worm” for a bit after I heard it, partially due to the flow of it I guess.)
  24. If one is interested and inclined to do so, one can search “LEGO Black Adam decal” via the google search engine and there will be an image posted to Flickr that includes the torso and back torso design(s) of the character from “LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham”. It can work as a makeshift Black Adam figure. At some point I’ll make one for myself (I want to get a good kind of paper that doesn’t compromise the integrity of the print and that has a texture closest to the plastic of actual LEGO figures (most decals I’ve seen placed on figures are obviously paper; I want something glossier/smoother that allows for the colors to be printed keeping their intended opacity/richness.))
