  1. this set is just awesome. I was at work when it popped up and squeeed so loud people laughed i am excited.
  2. off topic but the the gladiator is easy to figure out cuz of the helmet. i have 2 of them and a couple dwarfs i am so happy they keep adding "fantasy/historical" figs in the collector figs
  3. yeah I love this set! The extra zombie pirates its kinda lame and I have a enough jacks to choke a wookie but the pieces are worth it in this set. I might go as far as buy another cuz of the pieces alone.
  4. enjoyed the review now i know about the jinky anchor o well i am still getting it
  5. the pieces in this set are pretty cool the little island thing is useful and the hate and maybe the torso for the dutchman could be a cool pirate. also for fantasy collectors the "legs" of the dutchman might make a cool snake man those "legs" plus killer croc head for the win evil snake people make good enemies for your armies of good.
  6. excited about black pearl

  7. I really hope more medieval village stuff i have both MMV and MVR and would like to add more pieces to build and actual village (i cant moc)the new joust set looks like it might work for some stuff and i am try o so hard to learn some tricks at building more buildings
  8. I already own the QAR and will have the pearl the very second i see one for sale itsa great looking ship sturdy looking and kinda classical in composition
  9. early 19th century clothing and style inst different then late 18th century clothing and style. Same material same conditions same level of technology and industrialization. The setting is 19th but its early and that is the point of comparing it to 18th. I have seen and am searching for examples of poorer units in simple dress. late war could not afford the more fancy dress and lace brass and such are expensive at the very least time consuming to manufacture often "toggles" or buttons were wood and simple. just and example of cheaper uniform standards in late war. we are dealing with a time of painting not photography and such is the state that people want to see power and elegance not simplicity in uniform a painting of a soldier was a tool of propaganda especially for Napoleon. so examples of such poorer units conscripts and such do not exist as readily as the pretty boys in the nice clothes. lol! The head I think is really useful and the "hat" is awesome and could be an elite unit or a royal guard/personal body guard unit. I personally wanted to use the torso as maybe cannon crew who commonly dressed a little down the most line soldier. Just my ever so humble opinion
  10. When I started collecting again I had an idea. Well more like I stole and idea for a Lego chair. I was looking at bulk Lego online. Online resources like “pick a brick,” Ebay and Bricklink that I found had a lot to choose from. I all so explored other resources like buying starter sets from Wal-Mart or toy-r-expensive aka toys-r-us. I found two resources that paid off well for my trouble. One was Craigslist the other was local thrift shops. Craigslist seems like a weird one but it was easy I placed and add in the buy and items wanted section. I left the add vague on price and said I would offer fair prices for loose pieces and sets. I got a call that night from some older people with the mother load of offers. I paid 50$ for BSB 6285 forbidden island 6270 to name a few pirate sets not including 5 smaller sets in the same field plus 2 large castles 2 woodsmen sets several city sets and a slew of technics. All 100% complete. All of these sets are older and in pretty good shape what wasn’t 100% I was able to get pieces off Bricklink for less than 10$ to fix completely. The BSB was good score in the least. You should not over look this resource I have since gotten loot island 6241 for 10$ off other adds. It works so try it and if you could report your results. My next resource I used was thrift stores. I found local charitable thrift stores that get donations and resale them it’s been a good resource for loose and random parts for very cheap. I have gotten some nice minifigs off this and a lot of bricks. It’s nothing amazing but worth sometime. If anyone else has stories of other resources or reports on using these please share. Let’s get those bricks out of the hands of the savages that will just abuse them and into our building hands lol Ps. still have not built the chair
  11. i was out of the swing of collecting a long time so I can completely understand your situation I started again a couple years ago now i have 5 large ships a bunch of smaller ones just takes time to build them up and try Bricklink.com its a good resource for getting part and older sets
  12. the detail is amazing though it is a monster of a ship height wise
  13. I have: original BSB emperors ship large Imperial flag ship Caribbean clipper QAR (black pearl and BBB coming so very soon) renegade runner missing sails booth the raft sets kracken attack and raft raiders and the island catamaran I want more imperial stuff and I am starting a french Napoleonic army.
  14. I am very interested. I am currently a college student pursuing a mass communications degree at Idaho state university I have collected Legos since I was a small child and am now in my late 20s I have two children who push me weekly to buy more sets plus a girl friend that builds and collects with me. I think I would be be well suited to the blogging position.
  15. recently picked up some of the fuax legos sets for a friend to use in ESPG they seem fake and have taken great pains to keep the loose blocks from my own sets
  16. I am not as critical on this set as others i think its a nice solid ship compared to the QAR that seems to fall apart every time i glance in its general direction. this one doesn't have some many ginger breading type pieces.
  17. just got troll warship i am excited go bricklink but after putting it together it seems bare
