  1. Nope, I copied this link: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/BrickWright/Batavia/8.jpg which is, as you can see, correct
  2. For those of you who can't see the pictures (no idea why, I deep linked correctly) you can find them here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=484506 6,7,8 are the current ship version
  3. Seems I can't pass the hull part Anyway for my experience the rest is peanuts I'll post also (soon) some drawings I made for planning and also reference plans of the Batavia. Still... I was not happy enough with my new design. Also, I found out that making bows and sterns without trying in real bricks is only for pros and almost impossible So, I decided to use pre-fabs. Pre-fabs had two problems: one is to get tumblehome effect, the other problem is the proportions. After some simple math I checked proportions with 4/5 middle hull sections would be alright for normal ships. I present you now with a totally new (?) full method, consisting of custom/pre-fab hull, or semi-custom hull as I prefer to call it Well, it is 64 studs long and has "only" 250 parts... Progress has been made!?...
  4. Well, in fact your space isn't very high. Storage areas had usually very low decks. Anyway if you want to keep faithful to the movie's ship you should build the brig, but I doubt it would fit well in that area so short... Don't you have a way of increasing the height? The ship is starting to have shape, continue working
  5. Ok, so you asked for advise, and I am going to give it First, the ship is amazing and huge, and you did a remarkable job. I am very impressed. Still, there is some work to be done : The jib you placed should be removed, I think, or you should place 2 more, but that requires ringing The prow and stern are FANTASTIC, nothing to say I know the ship is enormous, but I still think that it lacks 8 studs (one hull piece) in length, because it is too high I don't like a lot the sails with all those pirate skulls (but that's a question of taste) and also the discontinuity in the cannon ports. I don't know if this is your fist ship, but for a work with pre-fabs, so huge and tall, it is REALLY GOOD
  6. Nice work! I don't know how high do you intend the ship to be, but it will be blocky if you build all the walls perpendicular to the decks, so perhaps you should consider using slopes or other techniques. It is starting to have shape, so keep working!
  7. Well, I guess I was just dreaming aloud... The pictures where in the net yesterday, but now most of them have disappeared. You can still find one here: http://www.google.com/imgres?q=lego+flying+dutchman&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1496&bih=982&tbm=isch&tbnid=0F_8WRaukfKqWM:&imgrefurl=http://www.brothers-brick.com/2011/09/21/lego-flying-dutchman-for-the-lego-pirates-of-the-caribbean-video-game/&docid=2viXBP8uUfXiJM&w=500&h=360&ei=CpN8TuXEHeHb4QTUkcDDDg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=824&vpy=469&dur=221&hovh=190&hovw=265&tx=205&ty=85&page=1&tbnh=143&tbnw=200&start=0&ndsp=31&ved=1t:429,r:15,s:0 Big link
  8. From my experience, it is true. Also it is not just a "rumor", we have minifigs descriptions and photos It is possible that it is untrue, but the photo of the ship is quite convincing. It has also been created a new page in Brickset, http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=3817-1 which has a different number. It does not proves anything but...
  9. BIG NEWS After a quick research on google I found this link: http://lego-customs.wikia.com/wiki/6234_Flying_Dutchman Brief excerpt: 6234 Flying Dutchman is a 2012 LEGO Pirates of the Caribean set. It is based on At World's End. It is the largest LEGO POTC set to date, measuring up to 2,067 pieces. There is 12 minifigures.
  10. Well fortunately for me I saw it yesterday on Sebeus' FD post...
  11. I actually read it before posting, and I've done everything in it. For some reason some of you can't see the pictures, any idea why? I also considered that, but for great joy of my own I found a BL store in Poland (E.U., so no taxes! ) which is selling that arches in reddish brown. 24x0.09=2.16€, which is not very expensive *NewReddish Brown Brick, Arch 1 x 6 x 3 1/3 Curved Top Items For Sale: Parts: Brick, Arch: 6060 Loc: Poland, Min Buy: None A HandFul of Bricks (477) Qty: 239 Each: ~EUR 0.09 (PLN 0.423) Well, I wasn't thinking in using prefabs, but I still don't know how I will do it, mainly the prow. I think I can solve the stern problem with , but for the prow I will try to find one solution soon. Thanks for feedback, I hope to post improvements soon
  12. I finally got the time to post here some work I have developed on custom hulls. Wanting the effect of the middle hull section being larger than the extremes, I found that was not possible using pre-fab hulls (although I admire CHG method for its idea I'm not yet a full fan of it). First, and after some posts I found here at Eurobricks, I started designing this: It is 33 studs long and piece count is 780!!! Time to start from the ground! All of you know the images of shipbuiding process. Inspired by them, I started again. (The black parts are for economic reasons) Missing the prow and stern, but it is already 40 studs long and has "only" 290 parts
  13. Luso Shipyards, the first in the world!

  14. Thanks for the advise, already done
  15. Could you please add also my Carrack? (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=60343) I've just added it yesterday: I'm new to Eurobricks
  16. 107A Portuguese Carrack Santa Maria da Boa Viagem crossing the Atlantic seas... I have posted this MOC at a few months ago at MOCPages, so it is possible that some of you have already saw it. It also features interiors, which I will possibly post in a previous update.
  17. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :pir-oh3: That's quite impressive, but you have to do better And yeah the BP official set doesn't look very good, I was somewhat disappointed...
  18. Nice, somewhat blocky but still a great ship, deserving to belong to any fleet!
  19. Agree with Sebeus, water pictures are great, but I'm there master http://www.mocpages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=281526&id=/user_images/66197/1311502099m Anyway the ship is great, great shape, just a little too much width, but nice details
  20. How many imperial flagships did you bought? It's huge and a remarkable work, but I still find the shape somewhat blocky By the way, it happens that I have a ship with the exact same name on MocPages (a brig), but nothing so huge http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/279813
  21. Small and accurate! Good job!
  22. I wouldn't like to fall from the staircase
  23. So small and so many detail... The duck is amazing, and also the soldier's pose and
  24. :pir-laugh: Great MOC!
  25. Color scheme is interesting, nice work!
