Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Slytherin Alumni replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I imagine the BoH will include the Dark Lord and Harry for sure. In the film the final battle was in the courtyard, so I’m guessing that will be the location. Neville and Nagini or McGonagall with a Knight would fit. An acromantula, Giant, Aberforth, or Hagrid are all options as well. We would be able to play out a few different scenes. There’s a chance it could be the Great Hall. In that case Snape vs. McGonagall and Bellatrix vs. Mrs. Weasley would be good options. -

The buildable Patronus is most likely a Stag or Doe. I imagine it will have a light brick featured to glow bright in the dark. I have always passed on the buildable creatures and probably will again, but it has potential to be pretty cool. I'll have to wait and see, but if they follow it up in 2024 with a buildable dementor, I may have to grab the set for display ;) -

Personally, I'm excited about the stand alone WWW set! When DA came out, WWW was the only shop I wanted and wished they had sold them separately. I almost got just that shop off eBay or built my own, but now I'm glad I didn't. Minifigures of the twins are less rare than they used to be but I'll be happy to get new ones. They did an updated version of the twins from the 2011 DA in the 2020 DA, so should we expect the same minifigures a 3rd time? The twins are my favorite minifigures to get for some reason and I still want them 1) in their vests and scarfs during Xmas at GP in OotP 2) in face paint, hat, scarfs at the Quidditch World Cup and 3) in their Wesley jumpers F and G. I really thought we would get a full Quidditch field this year. The last one retired in 2020? and it's surprising they would go 3 years without one on shelves. Maybe it didn't sell well? I finally got a couple of the Quidditch Practice Polybags :) If you are in the US, check Target's website. The availability goes in and out of stock, but you can sign up to be notified. We should get official pictures next month. However, I will be staying off social media on Saturday just as a precaution -

While we normally don't see official pictures until sometime in April, we normally have descriptions by now. The Quidditch trunk and Expecto Patronum are the 2 sets I'm most interested to read a description. In my opinion they could go either way. The Quidditch trunk could either be similar to the trunk last year including Quidditch players, Madam Hooch, Lee Jordan, a miniature field, equipment, trophies, etc. OR it could be a buildable trunk (not my preference). Expecto Patronum could be a buildable Stag or other patronus (not my preference) OR a number of scenes (as we've previously discussed) from the films, but essentially a playset. We could also learn the names of the 2 unknown sets. Hopefully we will get some type of update soon! I still haven't found the Quidditch polybag, however the Doctor Strange polybag which released Feb 1 is on Targets website to purchase now. By that timeline, the Quidditch polybag should be available to purchase by mid April :) -

I’ve looked for the Quidditch polybag at Target and WM so far with no luck. If I remember correctly, I didn’t find any until late summer last year. It’s on Targets website but says Sold Out. Hopefully it will be available sooner this year. I wish LEGO would sell the polybags on their website! Has anyone had any luck so far? -

It really depends on your situation... The GWP price thresholds seem higher this year, and it’s usually limited to the HP theme. If you’re caught up on the all sets you want from HP and don’t buy every set, then you should wait. If you still have sets from previous years to buy or plan on purchasing every summer set, you should be fine buying the March sets now. -

I’d say the polybag is a huge W! Finally a realistic way to build a Ravenclaw team :) Maybe the micro build hints to one of the unnamed sets? A full Quidditch pitch would be amazing! My guesses for the final two sets: 76422: Full Quidditch Pitch 76432: Durmstrang Ship -

There are so many great sets coming this year! I was going to get the RoR, but I may just get the Grey Lady and Fiendfyre on BL. I’m sure the Harry and Hermione minifigs will reappear in the BoH and Draco and Zabini are included in the banner. I’m not a huge fan of the banners as a whole but I will be getting my house and hanging it up. The Slytherin Banner conveniently happens to be my favorite out of the 4. The basilisk eye, Tom Riddle was here and the black lake in the lenticular background are all nice touches. We should hear more information on the HP summer sets soon as other themes have started to get summer descriptions lately. And we should finally get an image of the polybag that releases Wednesday next. -

So excited for the Statue of Liberty NWH set! A little relieved it’s $100 instead of $200. -

Any idea when we might see images of the polybag? It releases in less than 3 weeks and we haven’t heard much. -

Also the scene where the Dark Lord arrives after they escape and kills several. Many people die in the Battle of Hogwarts and we are getting that this summer. Surely they wouldn’t leave out everyone that dies; that would mean no Voldemort. He and Harry are 2 minifigures I would expect to see in that set. -

I was really hoping for a Christmas at Grimmauld Place AC this year, but at least it's Winter themed! Aberforth in the AC may give us hope for a Hog's Head next year Quidditch truck: do we know for sure if it is a brick built trunk to display or a playset (like last years trunk) with minifigures, builds, accessories, etc.? -

Microscale…well, that sucks! I’m not a fan of microscale builds; I would rather have the Knight Bus or Burrow. I don’t see Microscale anything selling well in the HP theme. The AC was marked down from $45 to $25 before Xmas and they still couldn’t sell them. At least it won’t be an added expense :) -

If the theme goes on long enough, I imagine they will do a D2C version of many sets. They did the HE, Gringotts is coming, possible Burrow and Knight Bus in the future. A full Quidditch pitch and minifigure scale Great Hall at some point would also make sense. If you could have a larger version of 1 set what would you choose? I only buy sets I really like. The only con is missing out on some minifigures occasionally, but a variation usually comes out in a later set. -

Whether real or not, it sounds like a cool set! The Statue of Liberty would be a great display piece for non fans as well. Yes on bs. Absolutely agree on Sandman and Lizard…Sandman was one of my favorite villains. -

The leaked potential D2C Burrow set is said to have 2388 pieces. With just a 28 piece difference, pieces could have been added or subtracted depending on which came first. 76419 could easily be the Burrow and I really hope it is :) I also hope 76422 or 76423 is a full Quidditch set. We haven't had one on market for some time and with the trunk and polybag coming, it would make sense. Hopefully we will get the rest of the summer set titles and some descriptions soon. -

So, we have a potential D2C image for next year, but not an image for the polybag coming next month I wonder if TLG will make a public statement concerning the leak. It may well be the biggest leak in LEGO history. -

I would LOVE a D2C Burrow! I really hope this set happens in 2024! It appears the entire Weasley family is included as well. They could very well do the wedding as it’s own set next year to go alongside the Burrow. If so, next year will be amazing imo. -

Personally, I would love to see a D2C Burrow! It's always been one of my favorites and we would be able to have all the bedrooms (latest version lack Fred/George and Percy's rooms). There are no $250 sets unidentified for this year, so at best, it would be for 2024 or beyond. I would be a buyer but it's definitely NOT needed. Anyways, there are many sets that should happen before that, which we've never gotten before: Malfoy Manor, Lovegood House, Full Quidditch Pitch, Fleur/Bill wedding, Slug Club, Quidditch World Cup, Hog's Head, Leaky Cauldron and so on. Too bad the deathday party didn't happen in the films as that would be a great way to get more ghosts. -

I'm surprised we don't have an official image of the Quidditch polybag coming out in March yet (I'm hoping for Ron from HBP). Also, we could get summer set descriptions soon. I think we got them in February last year? Not sure when we could find out about the 2 unlisted sets. Retailer exculsives and D2Cs are normally held secret longer, yet we have both D2Cs already (if Knight Bus is correct), so it's a bit hard to gauge this year. I'm hoping for a proper Quidditch set, the Weasley wedding or Lovegood house/Tale of 3 Brothers. I know many would like the Durmstrang ship, but as far as ships go, I would rather have the Black Pearl. -

I've never wanted the Lovegood House until some people suggested it could have the Tale of the Three Brothers mixed in and I would love to get that set! (X. Lovegood, 3 Brothers and Death). They act out the story on stage at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter every day, so I don't think it's considered 'too dark'. -

I'm most excited for The Battle of Hogwarts! Expecto Patronum: This could be Lupin's classroom, Aberforth, or Forest of Dean. Most likely Aberforth to go along with BoH and RoR. Bummed we are not getting a new Quidditch set, but excited to see what the polybag and the trunk contain. It's really hit or miss with these two. I would love the polybag to be Ron in his Keeper outfit (as someone suggested) and possibly McLaggen to recreate the Battle for Keeper. For the Quidditch Trunk, if it contains all 4 houses Quidditch jumpers, it could be a cheaper way to get them than the banners. One of the remaining sets could be a Quidditch pitch and the trunk and polybag would be act as team building and parts. Additionally, I'm interested to see if the Brickheadz students will be in house robes or Quidditch robes/jumpers. There seems to be a Quidditch theme going on as well as DH. Advent Calendar: Christmas at Grimmauld Place (fingers crossed) It's cool that Dobby and his sock is actually happening He could look cute or creepy and I'm excited to see which way it goes. Personally not interested in the Knight Bus as I have one and don't really display or play with it, so I feel it's not for me. Gringotts: I have the Gringotts from 2011, so I don't see myself buying another one. I'm not interested in the track system or the buildable Ironbelly Dragon and for $430, I'm okay with passing. What I am interested in is the Vault Promo! I would love to have Bellatrix's vault as a stand-alone set! Hopefully the Hufflepuff cup has printing. Unfortunately, it will most likely be the promo with purchase of Gringotts rather than yearly HP promo, which means it will be marked up a lot on aftermarket. For the 2 remaining sets: Could be the Durmstang Ship, 3rd task/maze, Quidditch Set, Bill/Fleur Wedding, Malfoy Manor -

Sets I want before the theme is done... - Quidditch World Cup - this could either be a tent scene (minifigures: Death Eaters, Barty Crouch Jr., Barty Crouch, and Harry) or the next Quidditch set (minifigures: Krum +Bulgarian and Irish Quidditch players and Fred/Ginny/Harry with team hats). - Weasley Wedding - mainly for Bill and X. Lovegood, but the costumes are great imo - Third Task/The Maze - All 4 champions and a few creatures as obstacles (blast-ended skrewt, boggart/dementor, Sphinx, acromantula) - Hogwarts Battle remake with multiple features of destruction - Proper Gryffindor Common Room (coming from someone who is not in Gryffindor) - I get what they were going for with the banners and that's fine, as not all common rooms were in the films much if at all. It represents them well enough, but the Gryffindor common room is necessary for so many scenes throughout the films...Petrificus Totalus, Quidditch celebration/Ron's kiss with Lavender, Golden Egg celebration, Weasley joke shop experiments, many study nights/letters from Sirius, making hats (not in film), first Hogwarts Christmas (AV), Sirius in fire (banner) and so on. They could go big with this set and include multiple scenes to switch out over the years much like the D2C HE did this year. -

- Karkaroff will most likely be included in a Durmstrang ship remake if/when they do one. - Xenophilius, Doge and Bill could all be included in a Bill and Fleur's wedding set. - Lee Jordan could be in the next Quidditch set they make. Now that they've done Moaning Myrtle, Nick and Helena, I feel they will do the Friar, Baron and Peeves at some point. Is there a chance we could get a HP cmf next year? That would be our best chance at getting some of the characters they have missed (like Rita). At some point, I would love a Quidditch Fred/George face paint and Harry/Hermione hats) as well as Inferi in a cave set.
