"Silly sissy. Now see what sissy did." Knifk scolded, then began to lead the party toward the voice, holding his finger to his lips to signal to the party to remain quiet.

"No. This is Knifk's party, so party will do thing's Knifk's way. Knifk's way being explore everywhere and kill anything that doesn't become your friend. So stop being a sissy. Party will check out alcove before going deeper into the quarry."

"No let's kill stuff D=<" Knifk scoffs at the barbarian. "Knifk is certain that we will not come across problems Knfk cannot fox with either Diplomacy or his fancy new Earth flavored sword. Let party proceed with bashing."

"Knifk likes this man. You heard employer, party. Let's go kill things." the Orc called out. He was slightly surprised at being named Party Leader, but didn't show it. He figured it wasn't going to be to difficult, all he had to do was tell them which order to kill their enemies in and decode who gets what loot. He was excited by this Quest, it seemed nice and simple. No mysterious disappearances, no evil artifacts radiating dark power, just nice, clean, carnage. Just what an Orc did best.

Knifk strolls into the Hall, nary a coin to his name, but with an upgraded shield and sword humming with seismic energy. He had been looking forward to a rest, but a Hero's work was never done and the next Quest sign up period was ending tomorrow. He quickly penned his emblem, a dagon's head, onto the sign up list for Quarry Clean-Up. He grimaced, he was getting far to at home underground, it was almost ironic that after living his whole life on the open volcanic plains and deserts of without setting footin any of the dwarves mines he had only participated in Quests within the confines of tunnels and mines during his time at the hall. But duty was duty, and besides, he needed the coin.

Knifk strols into the Marketplace, his pouch jangling with coins. He first heads to Anwyl's, and merges his Garnet with his sword (241-50=191), then upgrades his shield (191-60=131), then upgrades his sword, (131-80=51)' then uses his Writ of Service on the sword, then buys Deadly Venom from Portia. Knifk, in surprisingly fluent Dwarvish, begins to explain what he learned from the Quest. "Our, how do you say, party discovered a large number of problems within your mine, from bandits to an enormous spider. He only thing we discovered within the mine that could have possibly caused the disturbance was, as my small companion detailed, a Crystal Gobbler, which we discovered consuming Garnet and gold in the mine. It is my personal belief that a larger colony of these beings is deeper within the mine, but we didn't find them within the bounds of the area open to us. However, an informant of ours we met in the mine gave us reason to believe there are more. I would recommend hiring a team of exterminators to remove the Goblers, the one we encountered was more of a nuisance than a threat and a group of Heroes or other sell swords could most likely accomplish the job." Seeing the others giving him odd looks, Knifk ruined to them and whispered,"Knifk lived in Baltarok near volcano. Many gems near volcano, many dwarves pass by. Knifk picked up some Dwarvish and is more proficient with Dwarf than Common. Besides, Is polite to converse in the tongue of the host."

Knifk greets the goblin in the language of Baltarok." Hail, fellow (this word has no translation into Common, but roughly means "native of the volcanic lands" and is used to politely greet other natives of Baltorak)! I apologize for intruding upon your meal, but my compatriots and I are investigating this mine for the Miner's Guild who has laid claim to the minerals within. We are sell-swords known by the natives of this land as 'heroes' and are investigating the disappearance of many minerals within the mine. We are currently under the impression that small, crystalline creatures that my fellows and I refer to as 'crystal gobblers' are the cause of these disappearances and would be incredibly grateful or your assistance in this endeavor. We would be readily willing to reimburse you for your time and effort should you choose to assist us."

Knifk toes the miner to make sure he's dead or at least unconscious, then searches him for any papers justifying his presence in the mine.

We need to get Guts, Dak and Knifk into that Quest together. Underground Hero Power Trio, anyone?
