  1. I put forth the little car off of The Bourne Identity. It made for a great car chase by being able to get in and out of small spaces. Of course its not a badass. So for my badass the black charger from The Fast and The Furious. Also if we're talking about movie/tv cars i gotta include the Tumbler
  2. It does give the knight a look of standing for good and the shadows do well to give the tower an inherently evil look.
  3. How about a car dealership with a office that has a convertible inside it. Several cars and trucks. And red and blue flags everywhere. :-D :-D
  4. The word orc itself is not copyrighted. It would be a copyright issue if lego tried to replicate a product that has a copyright on it, i.e. LOTR characters or D&D creatures. But if you create an entirely new product you can name it what you want.
  5. Wait a minute is this thread about upchucking woodchucks or ugly stationary? Either way entertaining.
  6. Get sets 6441, 6558, 6559, 6560, build as is and put them together. Its pretty amazing. Good luck with the fires, both coasts are having problems now. It really sucks.
  7. The interior design with the barrels and the amory are superb. Also the landscaping with the bridge go together very nicely. My favorite? The woman washing the clothes exactly how it was done in medival times.
  8. A bulk minifig lot off ebey er... ebay 8-| Also 3 7090 Gotta build me an army.
  9. Try a thin cotton shirt over the light but for it to work you would need a super bright light. The effect should be a glow from behind the knight
  10. I need to start building me a viking army. Guess chess would be my best bet? Maybe BL...
  11. That scenery and those rocks make me think of that scene from Unforgiven. Where they shoot that guy in the stomach? I give it *y* *y*
  12. Actually on topic, it looks amazing and I want. I've seriously been to my local Target close to 20 times and this long after the on-shelf date they still don't have it. The result of living in Hick Town, USA. Sure I could get from S@H but I just hate S+H charges |-/ Also I'll scream if I order it then my Target gets it. Though I'm going to Missouri next week, just might encounter one along the way....
  13. This will be interesting its always nice to see new house ideas. I shall keep an eye out maybe enter myself ;-)
  14. Its probably easier for reps from lego to hop around europe getting promo contracts than it is here in the US. Seems like all the major fast food chains are always interested in the lastest cartoon or kids movie. Not in existing toy lines. Of course there are other options but still.
  15. Just explaining the derailed train of my thoughts. And true it was off topic :-$ Sorry :-X

    Battle Van

I love the overall look of the van. More specifically the two stripes on the hood give it alot of character. Also the blue headlights give it that goverment official look, nice. And I cant forget the escape hatch handle, brilliant touch. *sweet* Now how about some riot squad minifigs to go with. :-D
  17. Your right i didnt really flesh it out when i said that, but the situation with their customer service, and how they release a police station every year and the lack of sets that would make a town a town, just gives me the impression that they're not running a very tight ship over there. I think some of this is reflected by their past money problems. There are more reasons than that for me feeling this way but just dont want to explain all of them. On the other hand though, i have hope. With sets such as 10190 and 10182, and some of the upcoming 2008 sets, it looks as if TLG is turning over a new leaf.
  18. They should be called orcs. :-P At least to popular opinion. i'm seeing orcs at 48 with the next closest one being at 24. So thats a pretty clear indicator of what the fans think. But what I get out of this is another example of how out of tune TLG is with AFOL's. If they had named the small ones orcs and the large ones trolls we would not be having this debate right now. If Lego had gone up to basically anyone except the people that work there and asked them out of the blue what to call the two different minifigs, 98% of people would have said small=orcs, large=trolls. I know i would. But now that they named both the figs trolls the waters are now muddled. If you as a company are going to rely in part on pop-culture to sell a product then you have to be in tune with pop-culture which TLG has a knack for failing miserably at. *wacko* But the point remains that its a failure on TLG's part to properly name thier creatures. The name Troll for two obviously very different things? C'mon lego. :-/
  19. Some people are crazy enough to do it. Well I dont know about crazy if things keep going how they do, that set will be worth much more in ten years. My theory on all of this is the people who grew up with legos are becoming highly successful at thier careers now and having the cash to throw down on a $5k MISB set that they remember having as a kid and lost over the years. Now days it is much more acceptable for a millionare to have a hobby that is rooted pop culture than a few decades back when all rich people wanted to collect is art or other things such as. Also with South Korea and China becoming increasingly free market and industrialized it opens a whole other venue of buyers that want a part of lego history. With these two factors it drives the price for MISB sets up and makes the market that much more exclusive. (Also has anyone else seen that company on ebay called Cheerful Life that does cheap knockoffs of lego sets from the 90's? They're from China and is another indication of the growing market there.)
  20. well they are nice i dont think 5.00 is too bad
  21. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! You know I see that now too *sweet* *sweet*
  22. :-D :-D :-D I love seeing that spongy guy get what he deserves :-P Now you just need a supermutated Spongebob :-D
  23. Brilliant!!!!!!
  24. If we're talking Lotr here, which I think is relevant givin the appearance of the set (aquire the license already lego |-/ ) the smaller ones would be orcs and the larger would be a troll. Think of in Lotr:Fotr in the tomb in the Mines of Moria and the fellowship got attacked. The large blue-grey one was a cave troll all the others were orcs. While the word goblin in lotr was not generally used there were a few tribes of goblins. The group that assisted the Uruk-hai in transporting Merry and Pippin to Saruman before eventually fighting between themselves were refered to as goblins in the book. It seems that goblins lived in the woods to the north and did not generally come out to play. They were smaller and weaker than orcs and their tribes weren't as numerous. Because I'm going to be using these type of sets and minifigs for my upcoming Lotr mocs, they will be orcs for my purposes. Also in my opinion TLG used the term troll to make a distinction between them and other Lotr products seeing as they dont have the license. (yet) ;-)
  25. I love the cannon *wub* *wub* Its my favorite part of this moc The color scheme is very nice. It really traditional captures mexican lifestyle well. Good Job!!!!!! *y* *y* *y*
