"I'll try to dash forward to take out that pipe". The move he was about to make was risky, but Maximilian trusted his shield to protect him well enough while he took the shot. Not to mention that it seemed that the unknown creature's tail hit best with a little range between it and the target. Perhaps he'd be able to push out of the tail's optimal range. Max moves to D5 and fires at the old Coolant Pipe. (OoC: I can fire at the pipe despite being in melee range of some enemies right? Or does being in melee stop shooting from happening like in some rulesets?)

"I can try, though i reckon it will take some maneuvering. And that range looks to be a bit longer than i'm used to, but if we get the B jelly out of the way i believe i can make the shot" Can a ranged attack from E4 hit the coolant pipe? I'm a little unsure as to how line of sight works in this case.

Max turned to Tanabe with a curious look on his face: "You know what that strange static is?". While speaking he pondered how much he could say without risking their cover story about the machine being weather equipment. "And i can say that we aren't part of that group, nor have we even heard of it."
-
"Fine by me aswell". Max gazed at the hydrocobalt shards. "Sure i can take those for now. And yea we should." He reminded himself that this had only been a distraction, and that their actual job might prove even more hazardous. "Then we can get back on track with our actual mission". He couldn't help but feel a hopeful though. The team had certainly showed that everyone was willing to stand by their comrades, even before rather serious peril.

"Will do" Max said while letting out third burst from his carbine. "How are you hanging on? Is it bad?" Maximilian heard Soren's shout far too late to even think about moving, instead intent on holding fast alongside Valesia. He could do little but hope that the pilot would be succesful in drawing the drone's attention. I'd try to move away, but since Rally requires the target to be adjacent, can't really do that.

"I am" Maximilian answered while coughing from all the dust around him. "Though that was awfully close" "Just hold on as long as you can, I and Soren will throw everything we have at it". Despite the confident words it seemed awfully unlikely that they'd be able to bring the machine down in time. It just had too much armour. Then some long gone training kicked in from the back of his mind, pushing the doubtful thoughts away. "Aimed bursts Max, aimed bursts and it'll come down" Maximilian stays in place and fires another well aimed burst at the machine.

"You could say that yeah. I've been a miner you see, one using more conventional means. So knowing the competition would be well interesting in case i ever return to that line of work." Maximilian intentionally left out the part about him having been a miner here on Corvanis. There was no telling whether their hosts considered all who had done any work whatsoever for the big city suits as enemies. "Well extra coin would certainly be nice but..." Maximilian leaned in so only his teammates could hear "We're already one agent shorter than we originally were meant to be, so i wonder if it is wise to push our luck and go after the heavier armed one. It'd be a bad look if we failed. Do we have the firepower to take it down?"

"I have heard of the thing yes, never got the chance to see one though." Hearing his two comrades accept the task to prove their good intentions, Maximilian was inclined to agree. After all he could empathize with the Vurenians' struggle with the faraway suits of the city. Still, there was something unnerving about the Guard Captain hiding his face away in a mask. Could they really trust that she would uphold her part of the deal and not throw them out or worse? In the end Maximilian pushed these doubts away... for now. "We'll handle the drone for you ma'am."

"Stretching our legs sounds rather good to me". Maximilian gave a nod to the guard and continued "Nice to meet you". Though the guard along with the whole settlement seemed a little suspicious, there was little they could do, but follow the man and do as he says. Not to mention how easily he could sympathize with their struggle, the suits in Saviour city truly seemed to care about little less than hydrocobalt and profit.

Heroica: Glory Amongst The Stars - General Discussion

Thanks for noticing on my behalf -
Maximilian steps down from the skiff and takes a knee breathing a sigh of relief. "That was close". Then he walks up to Soren giving him a friendly pat on the back. "I don't think good even begins to describe it. Considering the time we won back by going through that storm, i believe it'd be wiser if we stayed together and went to points C and D one at a time." Maximilian gave a faint smile "Yeah i suppose you are right. Your vines were a sight to behold aswell. I don't think i have ever seen a mage using powers akin to yours."

"Good call, i believe i can set it up to protect one of the transponders instead of me." Maximilian said instantly beginning to remove the shield projector he had on him. The machine itself was carried on his back, and was relatively weighty. It in no way was bleeding edge technology, but despite it's rough appearance it did it's job. Originally it had been used by blast miners to protect against the rocks explosions threw at them. As he begun setting the projector on one of the transponders he shouted to the other two: "I have no knowledge about piloting these things, but dunes sure do sound better than sloped stone".
