[MOC] Sailing Ship MOC, the "Lil' Chonk"
TommyProductionsInc replied to TommyProductionsInc's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thanks! -
I've made a LOT of 1/10 scale replicas of various Battlebots and Robot Wars competitors, so I decided to create a dedicated to show them off (and just call attention to Lego combat robotics in general) However, I don't feel like I alone should run the show. What Lego combat robots have YOU guys built? Share them here!

[MOC] Sailing Ship MOC, the "Lil' Chonk"

Thanks for the input guys! I've also been wondering how to use the coral hull piece, since it's the cheapest colored version of that part. I'm not sure if I can get rubber string pieces to work on Stud.io, but it's worth a try! -
[MOC] My Lego Sailboat MOCs

Thanks for the input! I haven't looked into minifigures before, but that's a good idea! And yeah, this ship will need some refinement. As for as size is concerned, I usually make much larger ships, though I should probably practice smaller designs first (especially since I'll be making instructions for them) moving forward. Thanks again for the input! -
[MOC] Sailing Ship MOC, the "Lil' Chonk"

I'm a complete goof. I started this topic because I couldn't find my original thread on my Lego boats, only to bump into that post via Google Images. I seriously need to figure out how to use this forum, because I don't need this thread anymore but can't even delete it XD -
[MOC] My Lego Sailboat MOCs
TommyProductionsInc replied to TommyProductionsInc's topic in Pirate MOCs
Crap, I posted a new topic because I couldn't find this thread, spent 30 minutes posting my latest ship design, and only NOW do I find this thread by random chance! I'll have to delete some stuff later. Anyway, here's my latest ship, and one I hope to sell instructions for on Rebrickable: This absolute unit of a lil' guy has a jail cell, captain's quarters, a "rotary crank thing" around the center mast (that's apparently a feature of historical sailing ships, but I wouldn't know since I'm a normie who just likes big sailboat playsets) and brick-built canons inspired by other ship set designs I've studied. Roof for the captain's quarters and roof of jail cell are both detachable to reveal details underneath. The goofy color scheme comes from the fact I tried making the parts for this ship as cheap as possible, leading to some odd color choices and patterns. Considering it still has an estimated value of $119.212 according to Stud.io, maybe I shouldn't have bothered. It weighs in at 1.023 kg. I plan on making money off this stuff, even if it only ever serves as a side-gig rather than a definitive form of income. What do ya'll think? What should I improve for my next ship designs, and what price does this seem worthy of for instructions on Rebrickable (I'm a novice at making said instructions, so their quality will be dubious and I can't sell this thing for TOO high of a price) -
I'm currently building stuff I hope to sell instructions for on Rebrickable, and I already have a model that might work as a good starting point. Built from 957 parts and weighing a little over a kilo, this is Lil' Chonk. The idea behind this ship (besides being cheaper and tinier than the ships I usually build) was to make a ship as short and wide as possible for comedic effect, hence the silly name "Lil' Chonk". It also justifies the goofy color scheme, which was specifically picked based on which pieces were the cheapest. Sadly, many compromises were made and the collective value of these parts is $119.212 (108.29 Euro. I swear I tried making it cheap!) This ship has a detachable roof exposing the captain's quarters (featuring a chair and desk adorned with a map, a candle, and bottle of booze), a jail cell in the front that can fit a minifigure (featuring a bed), custom-build brick-based cannons inspired by other builders (since normal ones don't fit on this lil' guy) a bell crow's nest atop the main mast, and 2 barrels, boxes and crates filled with cannon ammunition. I'm curious how much I can sell instructions for this guy on Rebrickable. I'm hoping to finally make some income off this hobby of mine after doing everything for free for years. Any ideas what instructions for this lil' guy will sell for on the market?

Thanks! -
I've got 3 ships ready to be shown off so far. The first one I called "The Night Owl" since it was inspired by my favorite Iceberg youtuber DylanTheKnightOwl. He was quite fond of this thing, and I'm currently working on a bigger ,badder version for a sequel. Next we have my first successful attempt at a classic-style lego pirate ship, like the ones that were sold in the 80s and 90s, which I call the Crossbone Cruiser. It exclusively only used parts from that era: Lastly, here's my other classic-style ship, painted with the same color scheme as the smallest Lego pirate ship set of that time. I call this one Maximus, though it's likely I'll be building something bigger in the future. I'm hoping to some day be able to sell these designs, either online as instructions at the very least or even get into contact with 3rd party groups that can mass-produce my stuff. Considering the amount of 3rd party ship sets I've studied, I think my builds should be good enough (granted, they can't quite be as retro and simplistic as the Crossbone Cruiser or Maximus. Probably something more modern like the Night Owl) That's all for now, expect more later!

Thanks! I'm not actually familiar with C&C Red Alert lol. I was too lazy to list the names in the original post, so I'll list them now. The back row is 3 different renditions of the P.1000 Landkreuzer. The middle row (from left to right) consists of the K-Wagen, the Char 2c, the Panzer Maus, the A1E1 Independent, the T-35, and the I-O Superheavy. Lastly, the front row is the T28/"Doom Turtle" (one of my favorites), The TOG 1 and TOG 2, an M1A1 Abrams, and a few British Mark series tanks. The first is a Mark 1 and the other 2...well, I forgot. XD

Nice work! Glad to know this thread is still active, I've stockpiled a bunch of 1/100 scale lego mini tanks lately:

I'm looking for a new lego-building program to use for my personal projects. Lego Digital Designer was pretty good, but I found some faults in it that won't be fixed due to it's support being discontinued by LEGO. I was hoping there may be a CAD Lego building software that could help me with my Lego projects and help succeed in the following areas that LDD failed me, including- A more complete index of Lego parts, old and new: I found that not only did LDD not have an up-to-date index on the lego parts of today (because it's no longer being updated), but it also was missing parts from much older sets, like older 1990s pirate ships and space sets. Is there a program out there that is more comprehensive? A counter for how many of each type of piece you're using. I was hoping I could find a quick easy solution to actively keep track of the number and types of parts I'm working with. LDD only ket track of the total pieces. A physics engine that allows for mechanisms to function. I'm curious of there's any kind of program for lego building that can emulate the functionality of various types of technic mechanisms I've wanted to work on. If I were to ever come up with something actually worth selling online or promoting, what program has the most relaxed terms of service for it's usage in marketing? I may be inclined to sell a thing or two, assuming that's even possible for a nobody like me. Is there a program out there that can fulfill all 4 of these needs of mine? I don't mind having to pay for a program, but my computer is kinda old. I don't know the specs of my computer, but what I do know is that it can run LDD perfectly fine, it just starts up kinda slow (starting up at anything is an issue for this computer, but it can still perform pretty well for me needs). It has a sticker describing it as a "CORE i3 7th Generation" Intel thing. I'm not very computer-savvy, so pardon me if this is lackluster information.
