Out of curiosity: Tomorrow is exactly 1 year ago that the 2022 rumors thread was created. By then we even had the number of sets and prices for the summer wave. Could we expect that info for summer 2023 anytime soon now?

First thoughts: Black Lake Set has great Minifigs, but the build itself is much smaller than I anticipated. Still nice tho. RoR also nice Minifigs, but the build looks quite empty and a bit messy with all the holes in between. Banner Sets: I like that they included minifigs with different torso, especially those for the quidditch teams. I'm not the biggest fan of the book and banner sets as you cannot really incoporate those in the existing castle sets without taken them apart and building your own mocs. I like the 3D pictures of the house founders, but I don't get if these pics are actual lego pieces that you could take out of the set or if it is just a huge print on the entire back of the banners. If you look at the lego website und see the 360 degree pictures it seems lik it is one big printed piece.

Really excited about the news, especially Room of Requirements as DH set. But I wouldn't get my hopes too high in terms of minifigs. Since the price tag of this set is the same as the one of the hospital wing I can't imagine getting more than 4 minifigs. It will surely include Harry and at least Ron or Hermione, and I guess Draco and then maybe Goyle or Zabini (maybe Zabini since Goyle is the one who dies in the movie). I really wonder what the set will look like, in this scene there are a lot of piles of furniture, curious too see how the lego designers will incorporate that. 2nd tasks sounds great too, but here again I guess the builds will only be small based on the price. Hope the tower will still be as tall as in JL.Brick's Moc

In the last few days I saw a lot of pictures on IG of the reopened Lego Store at Leicester Square. There are some pictures of a Gringotts build, the entrance desk of the head goblin, a (partly) brick build dragon and many new Goblin molds. Even more excited was the picture of a brick build version of borgin and burks! Do you think Lego is hinting hard for Gringotts set for next year? To me it looks like and I get super excited and hope they won‘t let us down again. figured out how to copy the link https://www.instagram.com/p/ChNtSVMLOHY/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

Wow, just wow!!! In terms of Minifigures this is more than I could have ever imagined!! Besides Prof Sinistra & Madam Promfrey we are getting another amazing Hogwarts teacher/ staff member. She looks amazing! And then the Deathly Hollows themed MoM comes with amazing figs, even Mrs Cattermol is included, can't believe it! As for the sets: - Dumbledores Office looks actually really nice from both, inside and outside. Glad they incorporated the library. - Carriage: not much too say, the figures look really good. - Cortyard: I'm honestly quite surprised of the build, don't really know yet how the hospital wing could get attached on top of that. Minifigs look good, especially Buckbeak - Ministry of Magic: Need to get used to the green but besides that solid build and amazing selection of figures - Grimmauld Place: Honestly my favourite of this wave. The build looks great and the best part is the play function that you can hide it and make it appear. Genius! And again amazing minifigs, they even included Kreacher. Tonks even seems to have the head print with pig nose!!! OMG :D - Shrieking Shack: Too be honest I'm a bit disappointed by the shack itself, it looks rather small. Will need to get used to. But minifig wise again amazing. - Horntail: I was not so much interested in Hedwig & Fawkes and this one will also be a pass. It looks a bit bulky and the head a bit too small. Honestly, this wave is soooo much better than last year. I'm super hyped and couldn't be happier. Excellent job on the Minifigs. Combined with last year's wave we actually get every main character and a lot of hogwarts staff. I'm just wondering, did I miss something or could it be that Hagrid was nowhere included, neither last year (beisdes the golden Hagrid) nor this year? I'm soooo hyped!!!

Just to understand, in 2-3 weeks we can already expect the official reveals of the June sets?? 😍
-
I‘m also a bit surprised they are covering 3 movies with this wave. Would that mean that 2023 could be covering 6, 7 and 8? …Before in 2024 the HP Theme will get the next remake? By then the new modular Hogwarts system would have been on the market for 3 years, just like the 2018-2020 line.
-
Mimimi 😂 a bit picky aren‘t we?
-
Well there are quite some remakes from 2002 and 2004 😜
-
I really like the list, especially shack and MoM. But I‘m surprised they said in the article that this wave would cover movies 3,4 und 5. I mean 3 and 5 are represented well, but the 4th one?? There is literally only a brickbuild dragon in the Hedwig and Fawkes style, so nothing else referring to GoF. Maybe the unknown 119$ set will cover more of that movie?
-
When do we finally get some input or descriptions of the new sets?? There are already so many leaks of Superheroes/ Star Wars etc…
-
Mmh what about set 76408 for 119$? It is not listed here. Does it mean it will be released later than the others? Also wondering about the additional info of 76407 in falcon‘s ig story, according to which this set is a „play set“. What does „play set“ mean and why is that term only added with this set? Are all the other sets no play sets? Or is a „play set“ something like last years chess game or advent calender that lets you play actual games?
-
@Brick Clicker just released a new video on youtube saying that sets 76407 and 76408 will be playsets, so apparently no new buildable minifigures Ron & Dumbledore. I äf the sets 76400-76403 will also be playsets we will get a huge load of them this year!! 😱

May I ask our more informed colleagues here if they have more information? Would just like to know if next year’s line set up is more satisfying in their opinion. When I remember correctly @lego_guyon02 pointed out quite early last year that he was disappointed with the 21 set up (which I felt too).

I am really really curious about the D2C set. 470$ is a lot. I would really wish for Gringotts and the Leaky Couldrin Cauldron to finish DA. But could also imagine something else, maybe an extension for the 2018 microscale Hogwarts? Or a minifig Hogwarts made of a nice great hall and the staircase tower? Or a complete quidditch field? What I can't imagine is a motorized hogwarts express. And I really hope it's not gonna be some buildable objects stuff, not a big fan of it.

Since we are getting a new clock tower with Hermione and the time turner, as well as the divination classroom around Trelawney and a book about the Grimm, I guess it is save to assume that the some of the summer sets will be around the 3rd book PoA too. So high chances for a new Shrieking Shack. Maybe we will also get a small set like a classroom with the Boggart cabinet? Most likely in the new 2021 sytle and size like this years girls bathroom. Whatelse are we missing from the 3rd movie what we haven't had yet? In terms of remakes, we already had the Knight Bus in 2019, Hagrids hut with Buckbeak, and the Hogwarts Express. Whoping willow was in 2018. So most likely also remakes of a few of them?

I am not so familiar with other LEGO themes, but hasn't Star Wars this alternating order of always releasing a display D2C (Gunship, Millennium Falcon) and a play D2C afterwards (Death Star, Mos Cantina)? Could it be that we will have a similar order when it comes to the Harry Potter D2Cs? First we had the Hogwarts castle which is a really nice display model but hard to play with, then last year DA which is a great play set (also great for display) and now this year Hogwarts Icon which is just a display set. So chances should be high to get a minifig scale D2C play set again, right?

Getting a bit tired of reading the complaints here about Lego being unfair for having a new style theme in the HP sets which will continue for the next few years. Kinda funny that you complain about it so much and in the end still buy it. I think it should be clear by now that Lego does not care about what style in building you would like to have, or that the new 21/22 sets will not fit optically to the old ones. Their main focus is selling. If you have a theme that is limited to a "small" world (I know the HP universe is big but the movies 1-6 are entirely only about Hogwarts and a hand full of location outside the school) there are only so many sets you can create before running out of material. And then what? Of course they need to reboot since they want to sell more. Sets like the great hall, hogwarts express or Hagrids hut sold the best and so they need to be redsigned and released new if the sales should keep up. Who would buy the redesigned sets if it almost looks entire like the old ones? From a company point of view it makes total sense. At the same time they can increase the prices and make even more profit. Take the new clock "tower", 50eurs for a set that stands on three 8x8 plates, is 1-2 floors high and comes with 4 minifigs and in total 510pcs, compared to the 2019 clock tower for 90€, 8 Minifigs and 922 pcs. Yet still you will buy it. So why should they care about your compaints?

Not sure if that fits here, but one thing that is annoying me about the new Harry Potter set designs is promised focus on playability. When comparing the sets from 2021 (but also 2019-20) with the ones from 2001 onwards, I find it quite hard to actually "play" inside the builds, mainly due to the room height inside of them. When I was younger I really loved playing with the old Lego HP sets. It was through my niece that I came back to Lego after 15 years of absence. Some months ago I started getting the 2019-21 sets. Although I got them mainly for a display purpose (and also as an investment for my future children to play with), I must say I find it quite fumbling and sometimes really hard to place the minifigures inside the buildings. First I thought it was just because I grown up in the meantime and my hands got too big. But even my little niece has problems and partly "destroyes" the castle whenever she is trying to place or remove a minifiges from a classroom chair. After rebuilding some of the 2001 sets I recongnized that these were much higher and much more open. The ground floor of the "Forbidding Corridor" from 2001 is 11 studs high compared to the 8 studs of the new one. I know that the old sets were not as good looking as the new ones, but for a play purpose I find them much better (like the Hogwarts Moments books). Everytime my niece visits me now we have to take out the chairs, desks, tables and other play features from the actual build and place it on them on the floor/ table so she can actually play with them and move the minifigures around. That leaves her only with a hollow building that looks pretty in the background. I know I could solve that by simply adding more layers on top, but therefore I have to get extra bricks. Has anyone else the same problem? And is this only with HP or did also other sets shrink down?

Since there are already set numbers and prices for the 2nd HY sets for Star Wars and Marvel, can we also expect one for Harry Potter soon? When were these lists revealed last year?
-
Damn respect, did you recreate all the existing sets from 2018-2020 in studio? Or is there a way to download the 3D model of those sets? Anyways, looks really nice!
-
I agree with this, I really can‘t imagine a full playable chess set, not for 60€.
-
Well based on the info that all Hogwarts sections would be cable to connect I‘m pretty sure that at least one to two sides will contain a brick wall. I‘m also thinking that we will only be getting a small chess field, maybe somthing like 5x5. I also can‘t imagine that there will be many minifigs, especially no horses!!! I‘m more wondering if the chess set will also include a section for the winged keys (like in the 2001 version). Since we are getting the forbidden corridor (which maybe will also include the devil‘s snare) I‘m farely positive that we will also be getting the winged key challenge. Otherwise the PoS would not be complete.

Where can I see it? Instgram has currently some issues so I‘m not sure where i can watch it.

Found it... well mmh i kinda like the style of the girls bathroom, and also Hogsmead. Also the Basilik seems really cool. But the Hogwarts build (also forbidden corridor) looks rather cheap. Even if the roofs would be grey it would still look bad. Compared to the 2018 version quite... ugly tbh. I just hope the CoS is nice inside. Otherwise I must admit I am quite disappointed. I really hope this new „less detail and cheap looking“ design is really just for the anniversary set and that Lego will go back to the great design from the previous years. Even if it would take until 2022 but pls don‘t keep this design for the next upcoming years :(
