What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
AmiPolizeiFunk replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
^^those banners are really cool. My last purchase was the T-6 Jedi Shuttle and Grievous Starfighter for my son from Amazon.de. Now I really want the Death Star 10188, but I'll have to buy it next time I'm in America, as the Legos are so much cheaper there. -
I can't keep my hands off that thing. I woke up this morning and found a bunch of other stuff that I could improve! Version 3 of the Death Star 10188 is now even better. I want a C3PO head!!!

If I would hazard a guess, I'd say it moves Anakin's podracer back and forth in those slots.

I just looked through your entire website. I'm impressed to say the least! What an amazing collection of works. Is there a "Bio" or "About me" part of your website? I looked but couldn't find one. I think it would be a nice thing to add -- tell a little about yourself and how you came to making such massive dioramas and how you collect so many bricks. Thanks for the post. The effects in the sand look very nice.

I'm guessing that LMG handle is an electrolytic capacitor, not a resistor! :P Just kidding around with you, they all look awesome. Great work!

This is really great, nice work everyone. The model looks fantastic so far! Brings back fond childhood memories. -
I would love to ask him, and bspline as well, but I am not allowed to view member profiles or send PMs, as far as I can tell. :(

Hello friends! With the latest patch I was excited to add Darth Vader's real head and the new Imperial Guard heads to the previous Death Stars (10188) that have appeared on this forum. This is my first attempt at using LDD. It wound up growing into quite a large project! Most of the credit belongs to bspline for his very detailed Death Star model and to ADHO15 for the Death Star minifigs. After I added ADHO15's minifigs to bspline's model, I made some additions of my own, the last and most ambitious of which was to try to tackle that crazy Superlaser and the satellite dish. It was hinge mania for countless hours, but I'm very happy with the end result. The SuperLaser is perfect minus 8 hinge pieces that don't fit due to imprecise collision detection. 10188 - Death Star - Star Wars (duplicate) Download the .LXF (4th version, 8/21/2011) Other additions/updates: Added mouse droid and probe droid Grouped each minifig for easy playability Added some skins to minifigs and updated Chewbacca (he still looks bad but oh well) Added capes to Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Obi-Wan Kenobi & the 2 Imperial Guardsmen Added power flex tube to SuperLaser (on floor) Flexed guard rails slightly to mimic curve of Death Star Rotated Superlaser to point up slightly (dish is grouped. To rotate again, first remove dish, rotate arm, then re-attach. This is required because the dish has 8 floating pieces that will block any attempt to rotate whilst attached). Gave the good guys caught in the trash compactor a new hope Added snake-like neck to monster Added chain so Luke may swing across the chasm when ready Updated cargo robot arms. They are now ready to menace the Death Star astromech 8/14/2011 (v2) Major update to Superlaser, it is now as close to perfect as it can be IMO Removed all extra pieces on Superlaser shaft Re-flexed guard rails w/ better rotation on the holders for a better curved look 8/15/2011 (v3) Added hose to lower level cannon Updated lower level cannon with correct rocket & barrel Added toolchest on wheels w/ blaster and scanner Updated the Death Star gunner helmets Updated blaster pistols and blaster rifles Updated Luke's grapple string to correct piece 8/21/2011 (v4) re-posed Ben now hosting on Brickshelf More pics: Superlaser! Back view Throne room Soon-to-be unhappy Han Solo Mouse droid and Darth's Tie Errors: 8 hinge pieces on superlaser dish cause collisions, so they are removed The shaft that holds the superlaser dish should be 6M with end cap, replaced with simple 6M shaft No string to raise the elevator :( Missing extra loose debris pieces in the trash compactor Lots of missing prints on minifigs and wrong Chewbacca head, wrong C3-PO/deathstar droid heads

LDD update 4.1.8 released
AmiPolizeiFunk replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Darth's Vader's helmet!!! Hurrrraaaaah! Looks like a lot of people will be updating their Star Wars .lxf's! -
Hi everyone! My son and I are brand new Lego Star Wars aficionados. We built the new Slave I (8097) and then had to have as many more as possible. Next up is the Jedi shuttle and then the Grevious starfighter. We found these forums whilst searching for answers about various bricks and the lego digital designer. We've downloaded about 20 .lxf sets... all the ones we own and all the ones we'd like to own. So THANK YOU to all the users that have contributed their models and have painstakingly indexed them. They were very easy to find! This was the only website that could confirm what I suspected -- that the vertical lamp clip found in the TT games version of the "mini-kit" or "capsule" does not exist in the real world! I searched all over the place until I finally found a post on Eurobricks that confirmed that TLC never made that particular part. I wish they would! I've replaced it by a 2x1 plate in my custom order to build 10 mini-kits with my son. I'm so crazy, I'm dreaming of ways to borrow the laser at school to trim them so that one side looks like a modified plate with a round edge and a narrow stem! But I doubt that will happen. Aligning the laser to cut the piece would be a challenge, and I don't even know if lego would cut nicely... I'm imagining it would, but I'm not sure. Anyway, we're glad to be here, and we hope to become contributors as well. Fantastic forums!! My 6-yr old son asks, "Why is it, in that picture there, that Boba Fett's got no t-shirt??" :)
