Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
ZeLuiz08 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I just saw the new sets. And my first reaction is: LEGO IS RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS. The owlery and the boathouse are buildings that we were really missing, but at the same time I don't see anything there that the fans couldn't do with their spare parts. But I wanted to ask, the owlery obviously references the Goblet of Fire when Harry invites Cho to the ball, however, has anyone else noticed that it also references the moment when Filch tries to intercept Harry's letters to Umbridge in Order of the Phoenix? Honestly, I already expected them to launch a second Hagrid house with Fang, it was just a matter of time. My opinion: I don't like repeated sets being released, not only because of money, but also because I don't like having repeated things, they take up space and don't make sense in the collection. Then you end up buying something that you already have, you're already satisfied with, but now there's an extra accessory that yours doesn't have, I think that's bad. I consider it a good set, when it's a new place with new minifigures, I don't know if you've noticed but, THERE IS NO NEW MINIFIGURES or really interesting clothing variations for the general public. Let's talk about the Forbidden Forest, you know that there is simply Lego reusing things from previous sets, right? that scene doesn't exist in the film or in the book, here comes my question, LEGO is out of ideas from the film and book to use in the sets and started inventing things, that's a fact, so why not invent really useful things? How about a lego with Peeves? Lego has already proven to use the book as a basis for sets, or perhaps a lego on Nick's Death Anniversary, with the 4 Hogwarts ghosts (and maybe Peeves). Note: One more thing, where is the Troll in the bathroom? -

Thanks, Tom riddle's hair has bothered me since Mattel made his figure in 2002 haha. I don't know how to explain it, I think it looks weird, but at the same time I agree that this new hair is much closer to the actor than what lego used. I thought black because of the description in the book, where his hair is black, but really, how about now: -

I like the lego idea of making the broom handle separate from the broom bristles, so you can assemble different brooms with different handle colors. What I didn't like was the format of the broom bristles, they could have different formats and especially a format that had those prettier tips like the Nimbus 2000. And I could even create a new exclusive piece, without being reused, for the support of foot. About the material that is used for the brooms, I know what you are talking about, I have a broom from a 2001 set that is like this. But given the problem of brown parts breaking, I prefer scratched over broken. -

Oh yes, that would make a lot of sense, and it's an interesting reference to the history of lego bricks, I really loved that explanation, but on the Gryffindor House Banner set, Angelina also has an old model broom, I don't think they would put that model in this set if they wanted to still use the old model. I didn't particularly like the brooms update, yes it was something that needed to be updated and I've been wanting this since 2018 but I didn't like how it was executed by them in 2022. -

Sorry if someone already said this, but I didn't see it. Did you notice that LEGO went back on the new brooms? in the 2023 sets they returned to using the classic ones. -
Thank you, glad you liked it.

With the new 2022 sets, I've made some updates to my old sets, keeping in mind that my goal is to try to repurpose as much of the 2018/2020 sets as possible because of their superior exterior architecture. I will only comment on the news, if there is any customization in the photo that I didn't mention here, go up the post where I previously commented on other things. Remembering that I relocated Dumbledore's office to the Great Hall set to take advantage of the spiral staircase, so I placed the new portal piece with the gargoyle entrance next to the stairs, in addition to that, I placed the Hogwarts flag in the middle of the great hall, honestly I'm surprised I didn't have this idea before, because I was wanting to take advantage of the flag that came on the set of Chamber of Secrets. Note: To fit the portal with gargoyle print on the side of the tower, it was necessary to increase the height of the tower by 1 block. About the second part of Hogwarts 2018, this is where things really got interesting, this part of the castle has the Gryffindor dormitory on the second floor, so I had previously transformed the first floor, which was previously a generic room, into the Gryffindor common room. However, this year there was the launch of the Hogwarts staircase set, so I wanted to somehow fit the staircase where the entrance to the Gryffindor common room has with my Gryffindor common room, but for that I had to create one more floor in that part of the Gryffindor dorm. Notice some details, in the architecture, such as the portal in the dormitory and the portal of the portrait of the fat woman, are not leveled, this was intentional to create a step down as it is in the movie, another detail is that in the book it is mainly said that the Gryffindor common room is in a tower, not that with the original architecture made by lego that part doesn't look like a tower, but with an extra floor it looks more like a tower. Now a novelty, since I needed to create a new ground floor, I needed to put something in this room, so I had the idea of creating Filch's room, I put a table with a envelope on top referring to the moment of the "express spell", I put a box with a confiscated filebuster firework, in the wall drawer I put the marauder's map and put handcuffs dangling referencing the dungeon chains that Filch keeps in his room. In the astronomy tower, I extinguished Slughorn's potions room and Christmas party decorations, and created a library. And on top of the tower I put a star map that came on the set of the Chamber of Secrets. The Chamber of Secrets, First Flight Lesson and Polyjuice Potion sets, I joined them in one, the bathroom was the obvious thing to do, but what is really interesting is that the part of the first flight lesson fits perfectly on top of the chamber secret, since another Great Hall was unnecessary, interesting is that I found out about these two parts fitting well one on top of the other by accident, when storing the new sets in the closet, to fit, I placed one on top of the other and I liked the result. I managed to replace all the green roof tiles with dark gray to match the other towers in the previous sets, and I turned the tower space into the cell where Sirius is in Prisoner of Azkaban. Also, I removed the part of the Basilisk's belly. The novelty of the precise room was the inclusion of the list of members of Dumbledore's army, but it was a person here on the forum who gave me this tip.

Ever since I've been visiting the forum I've seen people complaining about characters who haven't gotten minifigures yet, Narcissa Malfoy, Bill Weasley, Aberforth Dumbledore, among others, but I've never seen anyone comment about not having made Fang yet. We need Fang. -

Guys, I know very well about the change of uniforms from the first two films to the rest of the films, I know every detail of it, even have you noticed an image that you are using in current products that is a complete montage? They mixed parts of the two uniforms. Continuing, what I wanted to say about inconsistency is that Lego never showed interest in wanting to be faithful to this issue of uniforms, and therefore in an unprecedented character that does not allow customizing (due to the Prefect badge) it decides to do it, which destandardizes the collection. Another stupid change has been putting the house symbol on sweaters since 2021. -

Now that the release of Percy's minifigure is approaching, do you already notice how unpatterned his uniform is? He doesn't have the red lining of the black robe, the black robe have two clasps in the front and the sweater has colored stripes on top near the neckline. I know it's just details and I won't stop buying just because of that, but it's something a little ugly in the collection. And the annoying thing is that I could just put Percy in an old uniform, however, on the torso he wouldn't have the Prefect badge which is something totally MANDATORY for him. -

Krum's hair I think is pretty good, the problem is the color, before they actually launched Krum in this new 2018 collection, I had bought an extra Dean Thomas just to get his hair to put on my 2005 Krum, and I liked him with that dark brown hair. Do you have any ideas for a good face for Krum? -

We've had enough Hoochs man, she has more minifigures than apparitions, and I'm not even talking about the movie haha. And overall she's well done, now what needed an urgent face update is Viktor Krum. About the uniforms of the other Hogwarts houses, I agree, they urgently need to release students from other houses in cheaper sets for the uniforms to become popular to buy separately, I need at least 1 full Ravenclaw uniform for Cho and 2 for Hufflepuff, for Susan Bones and Cedric. -

I totally agree with this about repeated or unnecessary minifigures. But you have to think about the context of the set, there was a need for them to do the Ministry of Magic this is indisputable, lego had two options to do the ministry of order of the phoenix or deathly hallows, if they chose order of the phoenix, the characters would be Harry , Ginny, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Luna, Dumbledore, Voldemort, Lucius and Bellatrix. And I don't know if you agree with me, but I prefer Mary Cattermole over Luna or Dumbledore. And Madam Pince, well, the library is an important place in Hogwarts, there was a need for them to do that, and it makes more than sense that the librarian would come on this set, now if you want to question Sinistra on the set of the chamber of secrets, you have all my support haha. Taking advantage of what I'm talking about here, I wanted to know if you don't agree with me about three of my frustrations. First, I definitely wanted not another Krum, but hey, they needed to make him a face more similar to the actor's, the current face has nothing to do with it, even the 2005 face was better than the current one. Second and third, don't you think that both the Slytherin Medallion and the Time Turner should be represented in lego as a medal accessory? being placed around their necks and not just as something that is placed in the minifigures' no. -

Aside from the final versions of Deathly Hallows in the final battle which are mandatory, I'm quite satisfied with versions of Ron and Hermione, with the exception of Ron in Quidditch outfit. And Harry, I think they just need to re-release an updated version of Harry from the second task, although the old one is still very good, but a new one is always good. -
Wow, it turned out really good, after the inclusion of Madam Pince I'm also thinking about building a library at my Hogwarts, very interesting to see your ideas. Maybe it's good if you publish in the Harry Potter MOCs publication, so your construction will have more visibility. But anyway congratulations.

WOW, seriously, congratulations, I really couldn't understand these things, but man the thing about the frogs is that there are A LOT of FROGS, no kidding, 9 frogs in different colors, this was not common to see. Got it, interesting curiosity! Thanks Yes, but I bought these on Ebay, I'm from Brazil and I never leave my country, can you believe I've never even tasted the frog's chocolate? haha And I have all the cards. -

And this year is no different, only cards come in a few sets. I wanted to comment on something I noticed, they put a sticker of the bird gargoyle that is on the door to Dumbledore's office in a portal that doesn't open, they made it just as a wall, I found it super boring. Another thing, can someone explain to me why there are these objects scattered on the ceiling of the Chamber of Secrets set? such as a crystal ball, a bottle, a chess board, etc. And why are there so many frogs scattered around the Chamber of Secrets set? -

On second thought, there is something new to Sirius's Rescue, the Witherwings. haha Jokes aside, For those who don't have Buckbeak, this set is excellent. Even considering that the Buckbeak from the hagrid's hut is better than the new one. I know Buckbeak in the movie has white as well as gray but no one sees him as white, LEGO changing that was just to force more avid collectors to have each version of it. About the Chocolate Frog cards, if you think about it, completing the card collection isn't easy on your own, even buying each of the sets released last year, so LEGO was just trying to make it easier for people. But, I agree with you, LEGO should have released new cards this year, and I thought it was wrong that they didn't release cards on Hogwarts Moments sets, either this year or last year. It didn't have to be a whole set of new cards, it could be 5 new cards plus the old ones. But if you're interested in cards, collect these, they're way cooler haha. My collection -
I'm a huge fan of the architecture of the 2018/2020 Hogwarts sets, and honestly I found it disrespectful to LEGO to "reboot" the castle, butttttt, unfortunately the new 2021 and 2022 sets have a lot of accessories and interesting news, so i had to buy it, so i used these new features and some pieces i had to update my sets. Starting from the beginning, The Great Hall, I removed those generic side rooms from the tower and gave them a better purpose, relocated Dumbledore's office from the Clock Tower to the second floor of the tower and created a trophy room. I wanted to put Dumbledore's office on the third floor, but I wanted to take advantage of the stairs that open to Dumbledore's office like in the movie. One detail, I placed behind the Mirror of Erised the Philosopher's Stone. In this part of hogwarts, I joined the potions room part with Snape's office, I think it makes sense for them to be close, in addition I transformed the room below the Gryffindor boys' dormitory into the Gryffindor common room. If you guys notice I like to spread out the accessories and animals from other sets a lot and arrange places in Hogwarts that they would fit in, like Neville's Remembrall that it makes sense to stay in the boys' dormitory, as well as the love potion flask to stay in potions room. Yes I know that the Owlery is a Tower that is outside Hogwarts, but I took advantage of the space I had above the boys' dormitory to be a kind of Owlery. The clock tower was one of the sets that I modified the most, I'll start from the top down. Before I start I wanted to comment on something, have you ever noticed how the second floor windows are perfect for the Hospital Wing? honestly I don't understand why LEGO didn't want to put the Hospital Wing on the second floor and preferred to include the defense room against the dark arts. I turned the third floor into the clock engine room, and managed to make the gears turn as the hands of the clock turn with the crank. I relocated the hospital wing to the second floor because of the windows that are exactly like the ones in the movie. It is worth mentioning that I used pieces from the 2022 set, Hospital Wing, to enhance the clock tower. For the beds I mixed those of the 2018 and 2022 beds, and I think I got a very good result. Note: I had to increase the second and first floor floors to support the updates. On the first floor I placed the new square chest and on the other side I created a new goblet of fire, and it includes the age line. Where Dumbledore's office was originally, I created the fortune-telling room and where the dance floor was I put a armor, notice the shield with the "hog", I think it makes a lot of sense in HOGwarts. I removed the dark arts defense room from the clock tower, then I need a new one, and I really like the dark arts defense room from the set, secret chamber of 2022, so it includes some accessories from 2018 room and added the dragon skeleton, it is worth mentioning that the idea of building the skeleton I took from a person on instagram. In the Room of Requirement I added one of the bookshelves from the Dumbledore's office that were left over, I think it makes sense already in the Phoenix Order book it is commented that in the precise room several spell books appeared during the actions of Dumbldedore's army. In hagrid's hut I just added only accessories and animals from other sets that I thought looked good in the house. I added a Niffler and Norbert, I added the monster book of monsters, a few glasses of butterbeer and a flute inside the basket. At Burrow, I've included the 2021 camara secreta set cereal boxes on the breakfast table, added a gray owl in the attic to be Errol, and in ron's room I added a chessboard on the table.

I aim to have ALL students in full house uniforms (I mean black robes) and with medium-sized legs when necessary, currently I've only been able to do this with Gryffindor and Slytherin students. And in order to do that I had to do a big torso swap on my minifigures and at the same time I wanted it to make sense with the characters' personality. I've spared no expense and believe I've managed to come up with the best possible outfit configuration for both Gryffindor and Slytherin students, given the current resources we have on the market. Starting with the Gryffindor house, which has the most characters. I will start speaking from left to right. Lavender Brown, Parvati and Padma Patil, and Ginny Weasley, I chose to leave them with their closed black robes, usually female characters walk with their closed black robes at Hogwarts. Dean Thomas I preferred to leave it exactly as original. Seamus Finnigan, I made sure to put Ron's clothes, from minifigures collection series 1. If you look at the movies he walks around in pretty sloppy clothes. Neville, I basically i put version of him from the minifigures collection series 2, with the hair from the first flying lesson. Hermione, Harry and Ron I did what I like to call the "official customisation", I call it that because it's the customisation most people do, which is to take two minifigures of Harry from minifigures collection series 1 and put the face and hair classic of Harry and Ron. And Hermione I updated her version of the same collection with classic face and hair. I like to have Harry and Ron with their robes open because it reminds me of Chamber of Secrets which is my favorite movie. Fred and Jorge Weasley I wanted to put them with their robes open because they remind me of something more relaxed as they are. About their hair, I opted for the short hair, because in most of their appearances in the movies that's how they are, but the long hair in the fourth movie is pretty good too. Oliver Wood, it's interesting to note that I don't see a lot of people doing this, putting him in normal school robes, why? Anyway, I decided to put the basic set of black robes without the red lining appearing with totally black legs without printing, I prefer it that way because there is no impression of normal size legs that fit in torsos of this type. And lastly Colin Creevey, I decided to put him in a scarf initially for lack of full black robes, however, over time I decided that this really is the best look for him, reminiscent of two of his few scenes in Chamber of Secrets, when he witnesses Ron spitting slugs and when he almost gets hit by Harry and Malfoy at the Quidditch match. It took a long time to get minifigures in full Slytherin robes, but we finally did. Unfortunately I have to say that the Tom Riddle that comes on the set of Chamber of Secrets 2021 has a superior torso to the version released with the book in 2020, but I don't like his gray legs, I prefer the legs of the book version. I built myself a Pensy Parkson, sorry before you ask I don't know what head this is. The Draco I only put medium legs. I put Goyle with normal legs, since he's taller than Crabbe, and I put Malfoy's torso from the Astronomy Tower set in Crabbe, because he wears his uniform sloppy in the movies. Marcus Flit, it was the same case with Oliver. Unfortunately I didn't have much to "play" with the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw characters, besides not having many characters, it's not easy to get complete uniforms from these houses, especially for me who live in Brazil. But with what I have I did something. Susan Bones I put medio legs and a skirt on her, I'm not a fan of these skirts but it's better than nothing. I only have one torso in black Ravenclaw robes and I preferred to give it to Cho, because I really like the detail of the butterbeer necklace printed on Luna's torso, but if I have the opportunity to get another torso in black robes I intend to give it to Luna. Hermione the Cat was one of the minifigures I've wanted the most since 2018, and LEGO finally released her, although I really like her, something was missing that for me was one of the funniest things in the scene, THE TAIL. I thought it was unforgivable that they didn't put the tail on, but luckily, the easily accessible Tasmanian Devil minifigure was released recently, which comes with a tail, which is even ironic because the Tasmanian Devil has practically no tail, and removing his tail doesn't even make any difference . Plus I put brown hands on her. Updated I the minifigures from the set second task of triwizard tournament of 2005. I put black hands on the Merpeople. I put on fourth year Harry's long hair. I updated Viktor Krum's face and hair, although I don't like Viktor Krum's new face, I did it to match his other minifigures.

Earlier today I posted here the customizations of my Harry Potter sets, however, due to a small problem with the browser's built-in translator, even though I wrote the subtitles in English, the translator changed what I wrote to Portuguese and posted without noticing the change, so I will delete what was in this post and repost with the correct captions, I apologize to everyone.
