It’s going to have to be special for me to buy given my space situation (I mostly just collect Harry Potter these days) but it’s definitely wouldn’t be day 1. Would need a good VIP promotion and I’d like to have a decent haul of points to cash in against it too

I think when you look at LotR merch in general you see that’s in not just LEGO who doesn’t see it as an all ages brand. I’m fine with that, if they do a few big large sets and do then right that would be perfect for me.

I think the Star Wars ones are pretty awful. I stopped buying them years ago. I liked when Harry Potter ones complimented other sets in the line (Yule Ball and Cloctower). Think this year would have been a great opportunity to tie in with Diagon Alley and/or Hogwarts Express.

This is such a weird advent calendar to me. The minifig selection is amazing. There’s a couple of great prints. the micro builds are just pointless… such a strange mixed bag. Weakest but also strongest HP AC yet! Hopefully adult Ron and Hermione can be shoehorned into next year’s.

The Balrog does look cute but I really have no interest in brickheads. It’s always seemed like a poor attempt on Lego’s behalf to copy Funko Pops. I’d rather proper sets!

I definitely see LotR being a smaller more adult orientated line than something like Harry Potter. One or two big sets a year seems more likely to me than two waves of 5-8 sets a year or something like that.

the two random students in the train set instead of Ron and Hermione really was the dumbest move LEGO have made with this theme. now I think they’ve done an amazing job overall but leaving out those two figures… so bad.

I think the visitor centre is going to be the interior and based around the fossil display with the fight between the T-Rex and the raptors.

I would be very surprised if we saw anything from The Hobbit

As long as all 9 members of the Fellowship are included I am down for this. a micro-scale set with poor minifig selection would rank the theme straight off the bat.

Yes, all the film stuff is Warner Bros but the Cursed Child is still with Jo at this time. So they can’t cross between the two. The Harry Potter don’t often confuses people because they associate it with the films but it was on the books first. Star Wars fans are… their own breed (I’m an ex massive Star Wars fan now casual)
