  1. It should be impossible to have 4 peg holes in a 2x2 brick. I made a short test in MLCAD and that's the result: The pegs would intersect each other.
  2. That's my "Technic Hand". You can use it to push and pull axles, connectors, etc without using your teeth or hurt your fingers
  3. Thanks a lot for putting my crane on the frontpage. I appreciate that :)

  4. Oh yeah, I really like the way you manage to put that much equipment into a small size model. The details are very well done, especially the pump. I used to be a firefighter and love how you placed the PSA inside, just like the real thing. One small critique: What about using black chain-elements on the back?
  5. To make the download more easy I will attach the file directly: Mini_Mobile_Crane_laixEngineering.lxf
  6. I really like this bike and the chrome is outstanding Your technic models stand out, because of their great look and you manage to add your own style to every one of them!
  7. Hey ho, I recreated the crane in LDD and want to share it with you With several groups to hide and unhide it should be possible to rebuild it by this file. Mini Mobile Crane Have fun. laix Edit: Lego Digital Designer lacks in some parts, you have to replace the fake parts by these: - Technic Turntable Small under turret (99010, 99009) - Pneumatic Cylinder (47224c01) - Two Small Pumps (x191c01) - Pneumatic Switch (4694b) - The 6 red Liftarms 1 x 9 Thick (40490) should be yellow
  8. Hey guys, thanks for all your positive feedback, it makes me proud and happy Unfortunately there will be some major exams the next months and I won't have that much time building Lego or creating instructions. But I will try to continue building some small size models after studying all day. Just looking for some inspiration . Best regards, laix
  9. I like to hear others like it. My Brickshelf-Folders are public now so, you can take a look at the pictures and I'm willing to answer every question. I may take some photos when I disassemble it As I wrote, it's not my design, but Erik Leppen's.
  10. Take a look at the instructions of e.g. 8043. Booklet 1/3, Page 35 Booklet 1/3, Page 45
  11. After finishing my MOD of the LEGO Technic 9397 I wanted to add pneumatics to other sets. My choice was the LEGO Technic Mini Mobile Crane 8067. To make it more interesting I decided to use it's parts and make a MOC loosely based on the Liebherr LTM 1200 5.1. And this is what I came out with. All functions are comparable to bigger scale models like e.g. the LEGO Technic 8460. - 5 axles steering system actuated by a 20t, 12t gear reduction on the back - four outriggers to stabilize the crane while lifting - a rotating crane, mounted on the new turntable elements (99010, 99009) - the crane is lifted pneumatically with a Pneumatic Cylinder (47224c01) - the crane consists of two booms so it can extend - a hook with rope - dummy engine The most difficult part was the steering system and it took several attempts to realize it. I got inspired by the LEGO Technic 9390 and developed the idea. This results in a modular system of small size. The turning radius is nearly 40 cm. Note: None of the axles meet in a pivot point which causes some problems (slipping wheels, vibrations), especially on the front axle. I made this compromise according to the small scale. More detailed pictures of the steering mechanism to be found on Brickshelf. The Boom is lifted by a Pneumatic Cylinder (47224c01). Two Small Pumps (x191c01) provide the air. I used a Technic, Shock Absorber 6.5L, Complete Assembly (Normal Spring) ( 731c05) to run the pumps manually. With an 1L stroke you have to push about 20 times to lift the heavy boom. The boom is extendable and uses Erik Leppen's design. It's really strong and fits the scale quite well. More detailed pictures to be found on Brickshelf. I'm very happy how everything turned out and I hope you like it as well Regards, laix
  12. Click on the picture in your Brickshelf-Folder until you have a window with a single picture. The URL should end with .jpg. You have to insert this URL after clicking on the little picture button when posting. Hopefully this helps ^^ laix
  13. It is allanp's design and he describes it pretty well. I experienced no problems using the M-motor, because I usually combine it with an Auto-Valve to turn off the pumps if the pressure increases.
  14. I have 9 "old" pumps in stock and won't spent more money for 8 new ones - not yet . Their only advantage is the 6L length and I think this design deals with the 1/2L displacement quite well.
  15. One of my plans for 2012 is to build a pneumatic walker. Therefore, I have to guarantee a sufficient air-flow. Main restrictions are space and of course weight. After several attempts with different arrangements and a destroyed Pneumatic Pump (yes, I removed the spring and afterwards it couldn't hold the pressure anymore), I started to copy some designs from other builders like e.g. Sariel's rocking compressor. But I was pleased by none of them. I wanted something more stable and reliable and when I discovered radbot's concept on eurobricks, I was enthusiastic to build a frame housing those 8 Small Pumps. The dimensions are 7x10x10 studs. I used the Pin Connector Perpendicular Long (32557) in order to achieve a 2L displacement on the crankshaft. If you like to see more, visit my blog, brickshelf or youtube-profile. Hope you like it. Greets, laix
  16. Great build and style. Can I ask you how much time you spent on editing your images? They always look outstanding.
  17. I really like this classic design. Are you planning to put on some custom stickers? What about rescue shears like this They would fit the scale of your truck, if you use LEGO Pneumatics
  18. Has anyone ever seen some kind of prototype of the truck in real? I'm fascinated about those trucks and the only pictures, videos and references available are renderings. Thanks for the photos by the way.
  19. Hey, I'm a 23 year old student from Germany (excuse my poor English) and started building Lego again one year ago, after several dark years Today the new Technic Sets arrived in stores and I was curious about the new turntable. After I finished the build I began modding. A 20t meshes with a 10t, so less turns on the crank are needed. I also made a video of the pump turning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDUjde1l3Sk Hope you like it
