  1. To be fair, out of all the things you listed, most of those were one-and-done type things that I wouldn’t expect more sets from regardless. If it’s not from the main saga, The Clone Wars or any current Star Wars media (specifically films and shows; Lego drags their feet when it comes to video games or anything else), I would have very low expectations for anything substantial. Andor is still running and TBOBF is rumored to be getting a second season, so those are likely to get more sets in the next couple years. The ST will probably get more sets in a few years when the kids who grew up with those films want to see representation for that era, just as the prequel fans do now. Everything else you mentioned was already fairly well-covered or is just not relevant at this time. Or in the case of Rebels, Lego made a bunch of irrelevant sets that bombed and completely killed the subtheme (and to this day, they still seem ambivalent when it comes to making animation sets for anything besides TCW) with a lot of those sets ironically becoming somewhat high-priced on the second market. (Still salty about that…) I like your thinking but if this set is anything like that concept model from several years ago, I’d say there’s a decent amount of play value. You can recreate the medal ceremony, there’s probably going to be the rebel command center and there’s a hanger with a miniature Y-Wing. That seems like enough to me, especially if kids already have other sets like the Falcon or X-Wing to go with it. We also know that the fall D2C is going to be over $600, which a Yavin base would never cost that much unless they were including multiple non-chibi style ships with it. This set sounds more like Vader’s Castle than a MBS set to me, though they might as well all fit under that label. We already know that there’s going to be no Rebels or RO figures here unfortunately. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw those two in one of the Ahsoka sets though, since they already revealed the appearance of both characters at Celebration last year.
  2. I don’t think they’re reporting that, that’s just what they’re guessing will happen. I do hope Lego figures something out for the figures in this set at least. They all seemed really cool, especially the updated Mola Ram and modern versions of Willie and Short Round.
  3. I don’t disagree with a lot of what you say, but the Short Round bit is inaccurate. Ke Huy Quan stopped acting due to lack of opportunities and he himself disagrees with anyone who claims that his character and the film are racist. He’s also very open to playing the character again.
  4. Yep, you’re right. It’d been a while since I’d seen pictures of the original.
  5. Bruh, this was probably my favorite of all the leaked sets thus far, even though Temple of Doom is my least favorite of the original films. If it really is for reasons related to racism/cultural insensitivity, I’m glad that it’s at least getting (potentially) delayed/cancelled for a good reason, though I don’t think there’s anything inherently racist about what’s included in the set itself. The movie itself? Sure. But as for the set itself, they avoid the sacrificial and heart-stealing element. Maybe the Kali statue was deemed to be inappropriate. What aggravates me the most is Lego’s incompetence in this situation. Once again, they somehow go through the entire process of designing and manufacturing a set before realizing “huh, maybe we shouldn’t make this.” This happened with the Technic Ospery and that Lego City set with the dynamite factory and possibly other times that don’t come to mind. It’s just flat-out idiotic and because they’re so inept about preventing leaks, the fans already know about these things before they cancel/delay these things anyway. It’s just baffling how they decide to arbitrarily draw their lines in the sand after the fact, rather than before. Something to keep in mind is that this is just a rumor and it’s not definitively getting cancelled or delayed, it’s just a possibility. Like @Kaijumeister pointed out, I don’t know what delaying the set is going to do, unless they need to change something with the actual design of the set. Maybe they’re considering just focusing on the mine cart portion of the set? That being said, with Lego’s track record recently, I wouldn’t be surprised if they just cancel the thing. Lego has gotten immensely more sloppy over the last few years and it feels like they’re on a hot streak of making disappointing decisions as of late.
  6. *sigh* If this is true, I feel like Lego is just trying to get away with doing as many random sets that nobody was really asking for. A $200 Chewbacca, mechs and this? (Granted, the latter two will probably sell with the kids.) The 2017 version of this ship was random enough, and it's not really a set that needed a remake at all. It only showed up in like three TCW episodes, and not even with that much screen time. This is not what people mean when they say they want more TCW sets. If it's a green interceptor (Anakin's from Episode 3), then that would make the set a little more interesting I guess.
  7. Love the new Disney CMF. The only figure that looks particularly off to me is Baymax. He just does not work. As with the previous two Disney series, I’m very impressed with the level of detailing all around and something I think this series does better is give us a lot of accessories. A big problem with Disney Series One especially was that they mostly sold those figures on the characters themselves and did little in the way of providing accessories to go with them. (Series One is probably still my favorite of the three though.) I’d say my thoughts on the character inclusions and exclusions are still the same as when we got the list, but all of the figures (except for Baymax) look so excellent that I don’t even mind. As someone who didn’t have a problem with Mickey and friends having normal legs, seeing how tall that Oswald figure is making me reconsider my stance on that. He’s probably my favorite of the series because I just really like that character and I think he generally looks spot-on, but he is still wayyy too tall. Overall though, I adore this series and can’t wait to start collecting these in May. Hopefully they’ll be easier to find than Series 24 though, which I’ve only found at two stores in the two months that series has been out. Also, that Up house is a phenomenal set. The only thing that could’ve made it better is if they did a brick-built Kevin but as it stands, this is definitely something I’ll pick up over the summer.
  8. That is a good point I had thought about. It’s odd that they’re doing a cheap Boba mech so soon after his microfighter, but I assume this one will have an OT variant to pair with the Vader and Stormtrooper ones. Vader’s a guaranteed success with the kiddos and I think the Stormtrooper will do fine just because they’re surprisingly not super common these days, especially in cheap sets. For all the complaints about how Lego treats the prequels versus the originals, it’s been a lot easier to build up a Clone Army versus an Imperial Army in recent years. Speaking of clones: based off the piece count, I imagine the Swamp Speeder will be somewhere in between 8091 and 75035 in size. Not really ideal but the shrunken down AV-7 cannon in the 501st Specialist Battle Pack is charming enough, so hopefully that’s the case here. Like I mentioned before, Bly and some 327th troopers will make the set a hell of a lot more interesting to me, though I’ll likely still use this set to army build with whatever clone variants it comes with. As for the discussion about the lack of new characters in this wave, I think these sets still have a lot of potential for great minifigures regardless of whether we’ve gotten them before. From the OT, Jabba, Ep. 6 Bib Fortuna, Endor Luke, Yavin Leia, Endor Leia and Boushh Leia (a lot of Leia outfits come to think of it) are all variants or characters we haven’t gotten for a while, and many of which aren’t cheap to get at the moment. The value of a lot of the Rebels figures have massively gone up in recent years so potentially getting new variants of Ahsoka Tano, Chopper, Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren and eventually Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn (probably won’t be getting those latter two until next year) are also very much welcome. And we’re guaranteed to be getting some interesting new characters in the 4+ set. Something else to keep in mind is that there’s still other sets we don’t know anything about. This info should keep us fed for a little while, and I’m sure we’ll get more here very soon.
  9. I was taking a hiatus from the Lego Community but this news inspired me to log on and join in on the discussion. This news is… interesting to say the least. -The $15 mech sets sound like lame, uninspired cashgrabs… that are probably going to be really successful with kids. I mean, when’s the last time you could get Darth Vader in a $15 set? Unless these for some reason come with some new exciting variants, these are going to be easy passes. -I want some of what the Lego designers were smoking when they decided that a $200 Buildable Chewbacca was a good idea. I used to roll my eyes whenever I would see people say “who asked for this?” or “nobody wanted this” with unpopular set choices but I’ve been finding myself doing just that fairly often these days. Nobody was clamoring for something like this, and I thought all the posts about this idea from a while back were just memes. My indifference towards a lot of these large 18+ buildable objects and busts has quickly turned towards annoyance this past year. Aside from a few exceptions, they just feel so uninspired and vapid. I love Chewbacca but why him over Darth Vader or even Threepio like I’ve seen other people suggest? It appears this $200 set was effectively just an extra slot (i.e. it’s not the flagship summer/fall set or the fall UCS set) so from that lens, nothing of value was really lost, but imagine how many cool things they could have done with this set space. The Mantis or Luthen’s Ship (depending on when Lego could have gotten concept material) or a million other things people actually want, versus a giant Chewbacca that will probably look uncanny as hell. It’s likely going to flop just like the Black Panther Bust. Lame. -Getting a 4+ Young Jedi Adventures set was a safe bet, but it’s neat to see that it panned out. Could come with some cool figures I guess, especially if we were to get a High Republic-style Yoda. -Mando N-1 Microfighter is probably coming a bit too soon after the Razor Crest one but cool to see both Mando and Grogu be available in such a cheap set. I’m sure this will do fairly well, I already have had a friend express interest in this one. -The Swamp Speeder could actually be really cool if it does come with Bly and some of his men. -Finally getting a Yavin IV playset is super awesome. Like getting our first TIE Bomber remake in ages this year, it’s nice to see Lego at least keeping things fresh with their obligatory OT sets. Half of the slots are probably going to be the OT gang and I’m sure a reuse of the most recent Dodanna and Wedge are both likely. Like our Rae Sloane figure this year, I could definitely see us getting Evaan Verlane here to get another female character in the set and also to throw a bone to the book/comic fans. No Rebels/Rogue One characters is lame though. -Like many of you, the Ahsoka sets are going to be the standout for me. Very excited for the series itself and what the sets could contain. Her T-6 Shuttle is a safe bet for one of the sets imo, with Sabine Wren and gray-robed Ahsoka being very likely inclusions in one of the sets. I could see Lego doing a white-robed Ahsoka in the other one, kinda like how they gave us two different Ben/Obi-Wan figures for the OWK sets. I do wonder if the $100 set could be The Ghost. I figured that Lego would tackle this ship at a larger size whenever they got around to it it again but the 2014 one was only $90. I’ll assume it’s something different though.
  10. I’m late to the party, but like a lot of others have said in this thread, the leaked Indy sets pictures (thus far) lack the “wow” factor for me. From what I can make out, I do *like* them, I just don’t *love* them. They’re all good sets with some good looking minifigures, there’s just something about them that feels off that I can’t quite explain. Maybe it’s the colors. They are a bit more vibrant than I expected, though that means they’ll be more visually interesting as display pieces. These sets actually remind me a lot of the modern Harry Potter ones where they have a strong emphasis on locations and they give you a lot of bang for your buck in the minifig department. In any case, I still plan to collect this whole theme. I’m just not in quite as big of a hurry as I initially expected.
  11. This has been the most interesting batch of Lego leaks in quite a while. I'm curious to see if any of these don't get made, as I've heard mostly praise for these various renders and set concepts. The concept of Jabba's Sail Barge looks kinda boring, but assuming it had an interior and include a good number of minifigures, I'd be very satisfied. I can't imagine they do this set at such a large size and not make it accessible to minifigures. I hope this happens as Jabba's Sail Barge is one of the few large OT sets I'd be interested in, besides more playsets. People loved the Haslab Barge from a few years ago, imagine how cool a Lego version would be. They could even do a Desert Skiff and Sarlacc remake to go along with it. Since this idea has been floating around for a 2024 set, that's pretty much confirmation that the Barge won't be either of the UCS/D2C sets for this year. (I have no idea what the May set will be, but my money's still on a large Endor playset, a large Stinger Mantis and/or the Fondor possibly.) I don't think that earlier Max Rebo rumor really had to do with this; I still think that was related to a 2024 Skeleton Crew set, but this does mean that we could probably expect Max Rebo in this set if it comes to fruition. The Sail Barge could still *possibly* be the $160 set this summer, as we did get our last play-scale AT-AT about a year prior to the UCS version, but I don't think it will be.
  12. Falconfan reported on this on Instagram so they must have some level of confidence in the veracity of this information. Promobricks did an article as well.
  13. Honestly, I'm mostly content with the sequel sets we got. Heck, there's more Galaxy's Edge-specific sets I'd like in addition to that one-off IT-S Transport. The ship has sailed for these since everyone kinda forgot the mediocre show, but there were some Resistance characters and sets I feel like we should have gotten as well. It's mostly minifigs that I feel are missing from the films themselves. More of Leia's outfits, TROS Rose, both versions of TROS Palpatine, the third type of Praetorian Guard, Babu Frik, Crait Luke and more alien figures/extras. There are a few sets I could think of though on top of some of what's been mentioned. More First Order TIE Variants: the standard FO TIE (we only got the Special Forces version), the TIE Whisper and the FO TIE Bomber (technically more associated with Resistance). An Exegol playset is probably the biggest thing we're missing from this trilogy. I'm surprised at how little TROS Palpatine and especially how little Ben Solo merchandise we've gotten. There's tons of cool MOCs depicting how Lego could do this scene that I'd love to see become a reality. The fact that we're getting a second ROTJ Final Duel set in three years makes me wish that we just got this in the Summer 2020 wave. Ochi's Ship. This set had a decent amount of screen time in TROS and is an interesting enough design, plus it could give us some more scene-specific variants of the ST characters (Rey, Finn and Poe in their Kajimi coats) and possibly a Threepio variant (red eyes or Kijimi coat). Also, I think we'll probably get some quote/diorama sets in the next few years since the OT should be pretty well covered in that line after the ROTJ diorama wave in May.
  14. No worries, great minds think alike. I'm glad to see Lego putting out some smaller D2Cs this year. It gets kinda overwhelming to catch up when there's 4-5 $350+ sets available at the same time. I really, really hope we get a large Mantis set (similar to the 2019 Tantive) as one of this year's two D2Cs, but I'm curious to see what the standard May 4th UCS will be if not that.
  15. That’s what I was sayin’ as well.
  16. Glad to see that my prediction about the big set being based off the opening scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark is correct. The original version is one of the childhood sets I regret missing out on the most. I’m very eager to see pictures of this Indy wave! I’ll probably wait until the Indy 5 sets release in June(?) so I can get all eight around the same time.
  17. Forget I said this lol. Glad to hear further confirmation that this set is happening. I’m really looking forward to finally getting a Lego Jabba, as well as a Boushh Leia. Kinda funny that we’ve come full circle from Carbonite Han being a brick to being a specialized mold to being a brick again, but honestly I’m not too bothered. I still need to get caught up on last year’s diorama sets, but I look forward to getting these new ROTJ ones at some point this year. I heard about this as well, specifically the molded head being brought back and potentially being used in a set by the end of 2024. I think a Sail Barge is possible for this year (though not as likely as some other large set options), but my guess is that they’re bringing back this mold to use for one of the Skeleton Crew characters. I recall hearing a rumor that one of the kids in that show would be of the same species as Max Rebo and it stands to reason that Lego would already be designing a Skeleton Crew set and its accompanying minifigures for a 2024 release. I also heard about Lego apparently testing out the Poggle the Lesser mold last year, meaning that if it was to be reused in a set, it would be used this year. So we could potentially be getting a Geonosis Duel remake or MAYBE a Geonosis Arena in the not-so-distant future.
  18. It could just be that something got mixed up in translation, like calling Oswald the “funny rabbit” instead of “Lucky Rabbit”. I’m guessing they’re referring to his wings? Anyway, I’m very excited to have this list. I’ve loved collecting the previous Disney series (crazy to think that the first one is now seven years old) so I’m glad to finally have another one. I’m pleasantly surprised that they went back to 18 figures a series for this one. Here are my thoughts: Oswald: One of my favorite Disney Animation characters. I’m glad to see the guy get some time in the spotlight this year. I’ve been clamoring for an Oswald minifig for several years now, so I’m so excited to finally be getting one. Pinocchio and Jiminy: I finally got around to watching the full movie for the first time last month, so I’m glad to get these. I wonder if they’ll try to do something like what they did for the Series 23 Snowman so that they can get Pinocchio’s growing nose. It’s a bit odd to me that Jiminy will be the same size, if not a little taller due to most likely having a molded head. Maybe a baby or micro fig would have been better. Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey: I’ve been calling this for a while, glad to see I was right! Very excited to get this iconic version of the character. Tiana and Facilier: I really like Princess and the Frog, so I’m happy to be getting these two. Kinda wish we were able to get at least Naveen, and preferably also Ray and Louie, represented here somehow. Queen of Hearts: An interesting choice I suppose. Kinda odd that she got included over some other characters but she’ll make for a good figure I’m sure. Aurora: Good to get another minifigure princess here! Mulan: One of my favorite Disney protagonists, I’m very excited to get her in minifig form. We should have gotten Mushu with her though, maybe they could have saved Cri-Kee to go with a Li Shang figure. Miguel and Ernesto: A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one! Pocahontas: Glad to get another Disney princess represented in minifig form. To my understanding, Pocahontas has never been represented in Lego form at all. Cruella: A nice iconic villain inclusion, and the dalmation will be nice to get. I guess people will have to buy a hundred more copies of this CMF to get the full cast. Robin Hood and Prince John: Robin Hood’s an interesting inclusion, but Prince John? There’s so many other characters they could’ve chosen instead of him, as he’s relatively obscure these days. Stitch: I might prefer this version of Stitch even over the standard “naked” one, so I’m excited to get him. I wonder how the yellow ray guns will look, and I assume he’ll use the underused Rio Durant arms. (Which will hopefully also be used for a Greez Dritus figure this year…) Baymax: I think doing him as a normal minifigure might be a bit too undersized, but I’m very excited to see the character in Lego form nonetheless. Evil Queen: An odd choice, and a bit redundant with the Queen of Hearts also included here. Overall, I’m pretty happy with the series despite some odd inclusions and omissions. I think it’s weird that they chose to include some relatively obscure characters over more recognizable ones like Lilo or Hiro Hamada here. Still no Cinderella figure after the entire duration of the Disney Castle set has come and gone is somewhat amusing to me. I’m guessing the Snow White omission is because we’re getting a full-on Snow White and the Seven Dwarves set, which would also explain the Ideas set rejection. I’m surprised we didn’t see Encanto included here. I can’t wait to go hunting for all of these. Gotta make the most of the last series with the bags. ):
  19. Yeah, that’s a good point. And I feel more confident in Stonewars than I ever have in GreekBricks, so there’s that going for it.
  20. Something we also need to keep in mind is that Lego could be persuaded to continue Indy and Lord of the Rings if the sets do really well. (Assuming they’re not planning to continue already.) Personally, I think Indy at least has the potential to get a wave each year for at least a couple years, like the Harry Potter return in 2018. There’s going to be new content keeping the Indy franchise alive, even if there aren’t going to be any more films. Lego could always tie-in with that stuff in addition to making more sets for the existing movies. Indiana Jones is a very different property to most of the other short-lived licenses mentioned here.
  21. Yeah, I’m starting to be concerned about the possibility of us not getting a Jabba’s Throne Room diorama. We haven’t heard any updates on that rumor in a while and no one seems to be including it in the set number lists.
  22. That rumor comes from a bogus source but I can definitely see us getting an animated Indy show at some point. I’m kinda surprised it hasn’t happened yet honestly. The Clone Wars helped keep the Lego Star Wars line alive, though Star Wars is admittedly a much bigger franchise than Indy and had more material to make sets off of, even back then. I’m not an Avatar fan so I haven’t really kept up with rumors for that theme, but are we expecting anymore waves dedicated to it this year? Because however Lego handles that theme, I could see them following suit and doing the same thing with Indiana Jones. Both are iconic film franchises owned by Disney that are getting revivals and Lego lines to accompany them. If Avatar’s only getting two waves, then Indy will probably only get two waves as well (for now at least). I also don’t see us getting any 2024 Indy sets if we aren’t getting anything throughout the second half of 2023.
  23. We got a list in February last year though. And we got snippets of news for the August 2020 wave throughout the early months of that year. Not a rumor but there was speculation. Personally, I could definitely see us getting Endor and we're already rumored to be getting Jabba's Palace represented in a diorama set (which we haven't heard anything about in a hot minute), plus Boba's Throne Room is still around. I don't see us getting a new Sail Barge over a Gunship or something from the newer shows.
  24. The Death Star retired like two years ago. I’m sure we’ll get a new one in the next few years. Maybe in 2027 to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of Star Wars.
  25. I’ve had no problem with the implementation of pre-existing characters in these Mando-era shows. Most of them have been logical to me, and people seem to forget how much Lucas loved to do the same thing when he was making the prequels and TCW. Did characters like C-3PO, R2-D2, Chewbacca, Boba Fett, Greedo (in a deleted TPM scene and a TCW episode), Jabba the Hutt and almost Han Solo really need to appear in any of that stuff? Not really, but it’s something we all just kinda accept now. As much as people love to claim the opposite, Andor has fan-service too, though that’s admittedly a lot more subtle and less over-the-top. And granted, The Mandalorian may have done too much too fast when it comes to fan-service. That being said, the heart and focus of the The Mandalorian is still on the titular character, his journey and his relationship with Grogu; regardless of what “fan-servicey” characters show up. Encountering other Mandalorians or people wearing Mandalorian armor (like Cobb Vanth, Bo-Katan and Boba Fett) challenges his faith and perception of his culture. Encountering Jedi like Ahsoka Tano and Luke Skywalker was his entire mission in Season 2, and in the former’s case, yes, it was also a backdoor pilot to finally continue on with the Rebels storyline. If Favreau and Filoni just created a bunch of original characters to fill these purposes, the people who gripe about fan-service would have less to grumble about but then we would have had a bunch of other people complaining why they didn’t just use characters that already exist. And as far as the casual audience is concerned, they have no idea who Cad Bane, Bo-Katan or Ahsoka Tano are anyway. And as for Ahsoka appearing in BOBF, I don’t know why people hone in on that so much when the real problem was that those two episodes in general should’ve just been part of The Mandalorian. If they had been saved for Season 3, as they should have been, then hardly anyone would have complained about anything in those two episodes, or anyone who made an appearance. It’s not like Luke, The Armorer, Paz Vizla or Grogu made sense to appear in BOBF either, but people go out of their way to complain about Ahsoka being in there because of Filoni’s adoration for the character. Only Din Djarin made sense to appear in that series, and arguably he could’ve been left out too considering how much he stole the spotlight from Boba himself. Tangent aside, I really hope to start getting some set names/details soon. It feels like we’re getting summer news really early this year, and I have my fingers crossed that Star Wars follows suit. In particular, I’m both excited and nervous at what these $15 sets could potentially be. I fear that it’s not going to be any sort of army builder or duel set, and will instead be something really gimmicky and lame that ultimately just wastes set slots. And I’m still on the bandwagon hoping for the $160 set to be a Gunship. It’s not really a spoiler, the creators themselves have already stated that they’re building to some sort of Marvel-esque crossover, which is fairly apparent given how much overlap there is between these shows.
