  1. Go with the Sand Green bricks and Dark Blue windows. The green/blue upper story coloring is found at Universal Studios Orlando FL theme park (perhaps others). We made a small MOC based on the London set from the later movies, with position and coloring based on Orlando. I also recommend the dark tan masonry bricks to tone down the dark orange/nougat used in the Lego set. Your Orlando photo reference has shortened the large window and added an additional door to the left. Based on the first two movies, TLG built the bottom half spot on, and matched the pinkish color as best as they could. The upper windows could be lower to match the film better. But I suspect they took liberties and stretched the building to match the back side of Weasley's.
  2. So far, it sounds like the princess books are more 'pop-up' book while the future HP books are more 'back drop' to a mini scene. The initial idea that the HP books were going to be pop-up with two scenes sounded promising, but there is less and less that still supports this approach as more information becomes available.
  3. In my best Ron Weasley voice "Are you mental? You really need to get your priorities straight!"
  4. I just watched it again, taking note of the nondescript set extensions and the WIDTH and makeup of the alley!
  5. This is cute. At first I thought you posted a foreign video, but then I realized I just didn't have my mumble translator activated.
  6. I wonder if this is part of their effort to move to sustainable plant-based plastics. Maybe they are easing into it with a few parts.
  7. I would grab it quickly, as the Hagrid/Buckbeak GWP sold out in the USA market within a day, and the North American websites reverted to free shipping offer. They now have a free Monkie Kid set as GWP. Looks like Europe is the only region that has the HP GWP remaining. Lego has moved on to other offers in all other regions.
  8. I gave my daughter one last year. She'll get this one in December. An advent calendar is a tradition in our family, so the Lego version was a special upgrade from what she has done in the past. If you shred it now, then it really isn't an Advent Calendar, it would be more of a standard Lego set with ridiculously excessive packaging! Do what feels right to you.
  9. Look back on page 595, there were several versions shared.
  10. Acknowledging both DA and Brickheadz deliveries to USA, Michigan at 4:45 this afternoon. Things are happening!
  11. What was MinifigureMadness? (an opportunity missed by me most likely). I have an 'In Warehouse' order for 10 CMF figures along with some of the other HP sets. Don't know if I will be put in 'hold' yet along with you or not (madness free!?)
  12. @sebastian666 don't be too disappointed. Keep in mind there may be a bit of a 'mars rover' lag between what is happening, and what is being communicated. The Hagrid/Buckbeak set was always part of my order, but I still got one of the cute CS e-mails yesterday saying that it was being added to my order via a charm spell. According to other information, it also shipped yesterday, for me.
  13. @Modal that is the beauty of your MOC. You get to decide what works for you. I built up a leaky cauldron, the outside looks like the movie scene from PS. The back looks like Universal Orlando!
  14. shipping from Illinois to Michigan. Scheduled delivery via Fedex on Friday.
  15. Some people have asked about Free vs Expedited shipping. I opted for Free shipping. Order placed Sept 1. Order acknowledgement e-mail 20 minutes after order placed. Order shipped e-mail, early am, on Sept 3, with tracking number indicating Fedex will be delivering tomorrow! Just a data point to add to the pile. The only open question... what condition will it arrive in...
  16. My DA has shipped, and my second order is still processing. Looks like the shipping crews are doing a great job. Hopefully everything will be in motion by tomorrow.
  17. Okay, I checked, I'm still 'in Warehouse' but here's something to consider. I placed an order for DA on Monday, just after midnight, it was T357xxxxxx. I placed a second order around 10am the following morning (for other HP sets).... That order number was T362xxxxxx... Anyone care to take a guess at how many of those 5 million orders received a complementary Hagrid and Buckbeak!!? Now I'm making some assumptions about the Order Numbering, but 5 million packages to deliver is going to take some time... With gratitude to everyone involved from the initial idea to the person who will be placing my orders on my front porch.
  18. You are right, the USA website is back to offering free shipping for orders over $35. We must have crushed their initial run of Brickheadz inventory. Will be interesting if they recover in the next few days to honor the original intent of 15 days of promotion, or whether it turning into a 'while supplies last' situation.
  19. I 'heard' recently that the European boxes/packaging doesn't list the part count, but the packaging that arrives in the USA is required to list the part count. If that is true, then it sounds like fulfillment came maybe a bit too directly from Lego homeland!? (I really have no idea) This is what I found on the USA Amazon.com page.
  20. Best of luck Yeti! Looking forward to hearing the rest of your story.
  21. Glad I picked up the Burrow from Target a couple of weeks ago! Would have been bummed out if I had waited to today, and then missed it.
  22. GWP popped at midnight
  23. Somehow I've kept the Brickhead GWP a secret from my daughter. She has all the HP's so far, she will be thrilled to get this double set.
  24. I'm too old to be tense about this set release. If I don't buy it tonight, I'll buy it before work tomorrow. If somehow Lego sells out, then I'll buy it on backorder... It's going to be a Christmas gift, so the "I GOTTA HAVE IT NOW" factor is... below average (hey, someone has to compensate for all the OCD/ADD/Anxiety I've seen posted here tonight!)
