FABUpunk! Mafia II–Nights

What's all this nonsense about the stars? Those are just orbs of fusion energy like our sun but far far away! Nothing mystical or divinatory about that! For true scrying, divining, and soul-reading one must employ more intimate methodology! A more personalized approach! Through the grime of the past a clear vision of the future can emerge, but these predictions cannot come from distant stars, but rather by reading the muck and filth of the past as it settles in my mop bucket. Dirt of hoof and muck of paw, dand'r of fur and dust of saw! In my pail with cleansing sud, my bubbling broth is warm and good. Just a taste and swish about, and in a trance I have no doubt, your past predicts the future's course, the pail combines result and source! -
FABUpunk! Mafia II–Nights

It's night time... and you know what that means Mopping floors in the dark. Awww yeah. I don't even have to put up a wet floor sign, since no one's awake. Heheheh. I'm so naughty. Borf. -
For fear that I may not have time to do so before the end of the day, and a lack of desire to invoke a penalty vote, I shall Vote: Rutherford Raccoon for now. No telling if I'll have time again today to comment or if my vote will remain as it is. The garbage water bin tells me nothing about the next few hours.

Goodness it took a while to finish all that mopping. Okay, okay, okay, let me see what we have here. OwO what's this? *sexiest and deepest bulldog voice* Oh myyy, but I do look lovely in that Leather Ensemble though... might have to keep that one. Borf, Borf! So there's been a lot of silliness while I was gone. I'm glad to see that the falsifier has come out though. It's not a 100% bet that they're townie just for outing themselves, but it's certainly not a pro-scum play. If we could verify their action as having been used in spite of their claiming no intent to use it, we'd assuredly catch a scum, so it's decidedly better for us to know that puzzle piece rather than let it go un-seen. That said, tomorrow, the future-telling bin of befouled water that I divinatorily consult, informs me to expect that all of us will claim what roles we were bestowed so we'd likely catch the scum in a lie if that were the case regardless. All that said, I fail to see how this appreciably helps the scum. No one else should claim, though. I flirted with a more open-book concept before voting started but now that I've had time to ruminate on the settup, it's going to be a lot less important to know roles BEFORE the night than AFTER. If everyone has a role, and all of these roles are oneshots, then everyone will be forced to claim by the community, and we can parse the truths from the lies in the morning. This also all but confirms to me that the scum faction will be able to use their Trickster actions as well as their normal actions. Furthermore now that we have seen someone claim the Dwagon Swumbew Pawty does nothing but RP related stuff, I'm interested to see how true that is. I'm personally under the impression that it does do or will eventually do something more than what the recipient is informed, so nothing about that claim strikes me as disingenuous. I must say I'm a tad torn at this juncture. Every fiber of my being tells me that we need a Lynch on day one to advance as a team, but now that I'm considering how useful these night actions would potentially be in unraveling the secrets of the scum, I'm... oh Togram forgive me for that which I am about to say... Not actually sure we need a lynch today. I'm not sold on the mouse as a prime lynch candidate and the goat, while gregarious, hasn't struck me as particularly scummy. I've had my head in my mop bin for quite a bit at this point and maybe I've removed my head from the game to an extent in doing so, so I may come around to it, but for now I'm going to continue abstaining from voting until I am swayed one way or another. I may choose to vote 3rd party as it were and not contribute to a lynch at all tbh, since, due to the settup, we may learn just as much by not lynching a random person as we otherwise would.

I don't think it needs to be said that this is a bit of a daft play. Borf. Claiming the next day? Yes. Claiming the day they get the roles? Definitely not. Only a few if any should claim aside from the Falsifier and Encryptor. Is the mirror only a problem for the Town Vig? Is it not also a problem for the scum killer? I think that 17, 18, and 19 are potentially ones we may want to out themselves, but someone else brings up the valid point that the more we air about who has what, the easier we make it for the scum to pinpoint useful power roles. I think especially if we verge on over-sharing we should keep the mirror and other disruptive roles quiet about their identities until the subsequent day. There doesn't seem to me to be any reason to out the vote affecting roles now that I'm really thinking about it. They might make themselves apparent when the votes are tallied but if we can keep the scum in the dark about as much as possible, we'll have a better job of freeing up our own power roles to do their night-time jobs. We must also consider that the Scum will be on the receiving end of these roles and may even be able to double up on night actions. I forget if that was an element of the game last time around but since this is more of a role madness scenario it would make sense to me that they can act twice granted that their lack of accountable actions otherwise would give them away. Hmm, this is an interesting settup strategically, and the likely outcomes are still settling in my murky pail of mop-water... only time will tell what lays in store for us. My proposal is the Encoder and Falsifier ONLY out themselves and the rest keep quiet to avoid scum interference. We don't want to give them too many puzzle pieces, only remove those that interfere with us. Borf.

At risk of restating the obvious I'm going to translate this list into a language I can understand better than adowabwe baby dwagonspeach. "Scum get their factional kill Scum get a Switch (the switch blocks one type of role, active (Blocker, Vigilante, Protector), informative (Tracker, Watcher, Investigator, Voyeur), manipulative (Mirror, Bus Driver, Rolestopper) Compulsive Tracker * Compulsive Watcher * Compulsive Investigator * Compulsive Voyeur * Compulsive Blocker * Compulsive Vigilante * Compulsive Protector * Mirror * Compulsive Bus Driver * Compulsive Rolestopper * Falsifier (Can make one one-shot Action FALSE, recipient gets three options) * Normalizer (reverts a falsified Action back to Normal) * Role Watcher (sees which role targets a person, including if it's been falsified or not)* Encryptor (If given to Scum, they are able to communicate during the Day) Virgin Compulsive Hooker Hated Loved Priest *indicates required, the Trickster must assign these roles 20. Baby Dwagon Lullaby21. Baby Dwagon Slumber Party" That out of the way.... Holy smokes. It must be said that I forsaw this eventuality. You all may think me mad, but the mop-water never lies! By cleaning the grime of the past I enable the contents of my murky pail to expose the future! Gaze into this reeking water and thou shalt behold the stench of treachery and heroics to come! So.... This looks like a role madness game of the sort I've never seen before. I am almost too intimidated by this massive list to even start dissecting it... almost. So it looks like the scum are going to be able to limit the number of roles that actually take effect. I have no doubt that the morning after we'll be able to ascertain which they chose so that will be useful to some extent. As before reporting actions the morning after is going to be crucial, and as was the case last time I see no townie reason for the "Falsifier" to refrain from announcing themselves. Unless claiming is banned or the recipients aren't informed or something, I also don't see why the Priest and those with voting-power manipulating roles shouldn't claim as well, but I'd appreciate some input thinking that through. Looks like this is going to be very interesting. Borf. I imagine this means that the Forest God or whatever we're calling that these days is going to give the Falsifier 3 options of roles to falsify. presumably the informative roles. The Forest god may also, although it's not explicitly stated so this is just speculation on my part, give that list of options to the Normalizer although it may just be up to them to guess. Either way there's a limited selection of roles that COULD be falsified so the normalizer won't have a massive list of viable options to choose from to start with. borf.
