Highthought here but hear me out: Assuming the Trickster can't assign themself a role: The Trickster hasn't been blocked once yet. The Trickster can't claim whatever role the Bunny had last night because she was scum and she definitely would have told her friends, so the trickster would know that they know, and it doesn't benefit the trickster to let the scum know. The trickster can't therefor claim any of the "mandatory to give" roles tonight, and furthermore couldn't be the virgin/hooker. This winnows our potential Tricksters into the following list: Compulsive Blocker Bartostz Bulldog: Successfully Blocked the Fox. Compulsive Watcher Tracker Bernicia Bear: Successfully Tracked the Raccoon who killed the Bunny. Compulsive Hider (If they hide behind a bomb recipient, receives one too) Emeric Elephant: Hid behind the Fox. Fruit Vendor Encryptor (If given to Scum, they are able to communicate during the Day) Baby Dragon Bath" Hippo Baby Dragon Bed Time Story" (2, including fox, i believe have yet to claim tho I could be dumb) Am I wildly off base here? Out of these, the Hippo and Bernicia strike me as by far the most likely candidates. In fact, Bernicia is at the top of my list as a potential Trickster. borf. The trickster can't be given a role, so they can't claim any of the "must be given" roles, assuming they can't get a role which seems likely even though I considered the alternative briefly yesterday, and they also can't be the hooker or virgin which must both be given together (and if the one belonged to the bunny, the trickster couldn't claim it). Oooh, but that does rule out Bernicia because of her day 1 "must give out" role that she announced during the day. Sorry Bernie. borf. I thought the Falsifier was an optional handout but I just checked it out again. this leaves fox (assuming thy're not the ghoul), me, hippo, and elephant (and am I missing someone?) as the potential trickster. And I know it's not me.

It was a dark and stormy night. Nearly a decade ago I was performing my normal mopping of the town tiles, when I was visited by a shadowy figure who requested my assistance in the era to come. He told me that great power rested at the bottom of my barrel of mop water... the power to say sooths and divine the future from the echos of the past. The grime of our actions mingles with the cleansing, focusing power of the soapy suds, the lemon and pine scents mesmerize the nostril, and the heady rum I pour in enables the purveyor of these truths to enter a deep and cosmic trance. I see Forests of betrayal, towns of deceit, even crafts that ply the very stars... all of these eventualities coalesce in the glimmering specks of detritus that swirl within my pail. They show me the past and open my third eye to the future. Do not question the wisdom of the pail young dragonling. The pail sees and knows all... It is merely my privilege to serve as her translator... a duty most important in these so trying of times. borf.

I feel you on that one my Tanuki friend, but my bucket of mop water forsees great revelations in the wake of night 3. Revelations that shall expose the fruitfullness or barrenness of our nocturnal activities in the night prior. Alack we must wait until such a time may transpire. Borf. Hey that kinda rhymed!

I feel it prudent to revisit the roles of yesterday that we might parse a clear message of the muddled mirky grime of the night's activities: "Scum get a Godfather Scum get a Blocker (Presumably blocked Gilford Goat) Scum Kill is an Anarchist (they will hand a bomb to one player and the bomb will explode on Night 3) Compulsive Investigator * Gilford Goat: Failed to investigate the Fox. Compulsive Vigilante * Rutherford Raccoon: Successfully killed the Bunny. Deflector * Parvini Poodle: Successfully deflected actions from Benicia to Emeric. Compulsive Bomb-proof Bomb-Diffuser * Corrina Cow: Successfully defused ??? Compulsive Ghoul (if targeted by the Anarchist, their target gets the bomb instead.) * Compulsive Blocker Bartostz Bulldog: Successfully Blocked the Fox. Compulsive Watcher Tracker Bernicia Bear: Successfully Tracked the Raccoon who killed the Bunny. Virgin / Holbrook Horse. Did not get laid. Compulsive Hooker Shainen Sheepdog: fuuccced w/ Parvini Poodle Compulsive Hider (If they hide behind a bomb recipient, receives one too) Emeric Elephant: Hid behind the Fox. Fruit Vendor Encryptor (If given to Scum, they are able to communicate during the Day) Baby Dragon Bath" Baby Dragon Bed Time Story"

That was more at the Poodle than at you but I definitely think that it's a good policy to explain our thought processes behind our actions going forward. Makes it easier to see if they're well intentioned in a game where the scum may also benefit from these oneshots we receive. The silt at the bottom of my glistening pool of water and soap is cast in such a way as to agree with my preconceived notions of how events will transpire and it says we can only win if we are vigorous in our analysis of actions, which always speak louder than words.

I mean, I feel like it bears considering. it's certainly the last borfing mechanic I want to deal with, but this IS the first secret role and it could be anything from janitor to bulletproof to anarchy2electricboogaloo, to converting. We'd be shooting ourselves in the footpaws if we didn't consider it.
-
Congratulations are definitely in order to Rutherford! Your new wings suit you. I didn't know you could change your shape! Are you secretly a Tanuki? Also I agree that this more or less exonerates you from the suspicion you were under the day before. Well if I may posit a guess as to why the roles still revolve around bombs, I'd hazard that the secret role that the Twickstew is going to give out could be related to anarchy. I'm curious though... since this is a role madness game I would also not be shocked if they were given the option of a conversion. I hate conversions. It very specifically neglects their factional kill. I'm certain that whatever role the trickster hands out today will be in lieu of the kill which would imply to me that it's something that serves the same or similar purpose. Also to be on the safe side if I were you I'd double check the meaning of your successful result with the Forest God. I'm pretty sure you get a "successful" result regardless of what your action accomplishes so long as you weren't blocked from carrying it out. I don't think a success automatically means you've diffused a bomb. I'd be very happy if it did though as that'd also basically give us another confirmed townie. The waste water gives me grave omens about acting under false pretenses due to misunderstandings. Borf.

FABUpunk! Mafia II–Nights
Bartosz Bulldog replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Don't worry lil' Omwom! The night is a marvelous time. It's the pewfect time for mopping the decks! Evewyone is asweep during the night, so we can cover the flwoows with suds and no-one wiww twip and die! It's also a wonderful time for other things that a baby dragon such as yourself should not be privy to. On the subject, anyone like leather? It's not machine washable, but... *ahem* I am pretty good at cleaning hard surfaces. Borf. -
FABUpunk! Mafia II–Day Two, This Is Insanity
Bartosz Bulldog replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Alright so first off I am very pleased that the day was extended because Fridays and Saturdays are my busiest days. of Mopping. The ship. Which is my job. So, I think we have a lot to work with and the task was intimidating but I've sifted through the night actions and these are my thoughts as a result: The most interesting element of this puzzle to me is either the randomly-assigned rolestopper, blocker, and mirror pileup or the bus-driving near death. Both of these interactions are tantalizing clues to the broader picture. If Parvini Poodle is to be believed, Gilford Goat was targeted by the scum killer, which would make him the towniest of towns. That said, if he's scum we can immediately assume that Parvini is as well. If he's not scum we still can't make any assumptions about Parvini due to the fact that she may have coordinated with the scum team to target the crocodile as they would all know who the true end-target would be, or didn't care which of the 2 they killed. It would be a gambit to do this though as it would make Gilford an obvious Town, which does not benefit the scum. With regards to the Shainen Sheepdog pileup, I'd be curious to hear if the results were consistently reported. Rutherford claims to have gotten a successful result and was informed he was role-stopped, whereas Marblow Monkey claims to have been unsuccessful in blocking. I'm inclined to believe that Marblowes target was truly Shainen's because there are seemingly no unaccounted for blocks... unless we take into account that the scum would know that they switched off the investigative roles but didn't know who they were assigned to... which means any one of the 4 investigative roles could potentially have been the true target of the block... BUT Marblow claimed this blockage before Shainen confirmed himself as the mirror. They would therefor either have to be in cahoots, or Marblowe would have to be telling the truth. We can assume that Rutherford is also telling the truth although it is worth noting that Rutherford's claim came well after the roles were public knowledge. That said, there wouldn't really be much of a reason to lie about that. From this I can make a few assumptions: Gilford is likely town. If Gilford is scum so is Parvini. Marlowe is likely truthful about his target, as there would be no reason to lie about targeting someone else, which means that he and Shainen are not in cahoots. Furthermore I would posit a few of these night action decisions as potentially less well intentioned than others: My short list of suspects is as follows, red indicates a stronger feeling on my part, and yellow indicates a more neutral suspicion: Holbrook Horse: Investigating Marlowe seems rather random all things considered. Emeric Elephant voyeured Mobley: This action crosses streams to an extent with the Fox's indicating a lack of coordination to me but all the same analysis that lead me to suspect the fox applies to you. Bixby Bunny claims to have protected Benicia Bear, but there's no evidence to confirm this one way or the other, and, while the truth of the matter would seem well-enough-intentioned, it is unconfirmed. Benicia Bear: you knew you'd have to claim eventually and claiming yesterday did put you in a better position with the town. It's not unbelievable that you could have chosen to out yourself under the assumption that outing yourself today would be read as scummy. Francezka Fox: Yes it could be useful for confirming actions, but if you were a scum you could have lied about the result having known that it was the vig killer targeting Mobely as you would be aware of the scum kill target. You would also know that all major investigative roles were down due to the switch, allowing you to be more certain that he wasn't targetted by multiple other investigative roles, making this claim more likely to be legit. I can't imagine we have many people lying about their roles last night, considering a few of them have been confirmed, that said I'd find it unlikely for the scum to not have 2 night actions, and I'm sure that if that's the case the Trickster can get one as well. If I was the trickster I know which ability I'd chose for myself: The Mirror, which leads me to suspect our Sheepdog pal as a likely candidate for that role. I haven't really kept up with the banter today so I'm going to go through it now to see if there's anything I'm missing but for the time being I'm also going to place my vote. Vote: Franczeska Fox Your voting record from yesterday also doesn't inspire much trust from me as you were the second on a forming bandwagon and didn't add analysis behind your vote aside from "drunk ramblings" Borf. -

Update: Scum get their factional kill Scum get a Switch (the switch blocks one type of role, active (Blocker, Vigilante, Protector), informative (Tracker, Watcher, Investigator, Voyeur), manipulative (Mirror, Bus Driver, Rolestopper) I believe they chose to block informative, hence my failure to track and Leatrix's failure to watch. Compulsive Tracker * Bartostz Bulldog (me): Tracked Benica Bear. Unsuccessful Compulsive Watcher * Leatrix Lamb: Watched Mobley. Unsuccessful Compulsive Investigator * Holbrook Horse: Investigated Marlowe Monkey. Unsuccessful. Compulsive Voyeur * Compulsive Blocker * Marlowe Monkey: Block Shainen Sheepdog. Unsuccessful Compulsive Vigilante * Compulsive Protector * Bixby Bunny: Protect Benicia Bear. Successful Mirror * Shainen Sheepdog. Seemingly Successful in reflecting Marlowe's block Compulsive Bus Driver * Compulsive Rolestopper * Falsifier (Can make one one-shot Action FALSE, recipient gets three options) * presumably Benicia Bear, and presumably nothing? Normalizer (reverts a falsified Action back to Normal) * Hyacinth Hippo: Corrina Cow Role Watcher (sees which role targets a person, including if it's been falsified or not)* Franczeska Fox: Watch Mobley. Successful. Saw that he was targeted by the vig killer. Encryptor (If given to Scum, they are able to communicate during the Day) Virgin Compulsive Hooker Hated Loved Priest *indicates required, the Trickster must assign these roles 20. Read the switch role. It clearly lists the 4 roles it blocks. You were the ROLEwatcher. You're not listed. -

OK, so first off... Borf me bloody tonight was not great for us. Even though I did get this cute new 'fit and shared a platonic evening with my fellow Leather aficionado who's name I definitely know. (The suds bucket tells me it's Benica and that I am bad with names. My goodness! The bucket really is infallible!) So, I was the compulsive tracker last night. I tried to follow Benica because she claimed Falsifier and stated she wouldn't use it. I figured if I could catch her lying we'd find a scum, or if she didn't do anything... well, that'd make her more likely a Townie but not confirm it. Anyways, it's a moot point as I was unsuccessful. I think we're going to need a chart: Night 1 Actions: Scum get their factional kill Scum get a Switch (the switch blocks one type of role, active (Blocker, Vigilante, Protector), informative (Tracker, Watcher, Investigator, Voyeur), manipulative (Mirror, Bus Driver, Rolestopper) I believe they chose to block informative, hence my failure to track and Leatrix's failure to watch. Seemingly Successful in reflecting Marlowe's block Compulsive Bus Driver * Compulsive Rolestopper * Falsifier (Can make one one-shot Action FALSE, recipient gets three options) * Normalizer (reverts a falsified Action back to Normal) * Role Watcher (sees which role targets a person, including if it's been falsified or not)* Franczeska Fox: Watch Mobley. Baby Dwagon Lullaby Corrina Cow: Benica. Successful.21. Baby Dwagon Slumber Party" Mobley. He dead fam Were you only told about one role? OR would you have been told about multiple roles? borf. Oh wait I'm a dumbass. Leatrix was unsuccessful. ignore me guys I've clearly had too much of this rum-laced mop water. And in interest of maintaining legibility I'll do as I did yesterday and translate for the baby dragons. So cute. So inarticulate. Their voice reminds me of that of a drunk man with an affinity for fur and taking beautiful photos of delightfully whimsical scenes crafted lovingly from plastic bricks. "Here awe the roles the Trickter can hand out today: Scum get a Godfather Scum get a Blocker Scum Kill is an Anarchist (they will hand a bomb to one player and the bomb will explode on Night 3) Compulsive Investigator * Compulsive Vigilante * Deflector * Compulsive Bomb-proof Bomb-Diffuser * Compulsive Ghoul (if targeted by the Anarchist, their target gets the bomb instead.) * Compulsive Blocker Compulsive Watcher Tracker Virgin / Compulsive Hooker / Compulsive Hider (If they hide behind a bomb recipient, receives one too) Fruit Vendor Encryptor (If given to Scum, they are able to communicate during the Day) Baby Dragon Bath Baby Dragon Bed Time Story" Borf. -
