  1. We do have one in the mix tonight, but with a scum blocker and other random things, including any potentially unaccounted for absorbed roles, it isn't a risk I like taking. I can certainly see both sides of it, though. Cards are for gamblers, but the stars are for everyone! Your bucket is exclusively yours.
  2. And that is exactly why my vote will stay on Hyacinth, I think she's the most likely of the two to be the trickster and the only way to deal with the trickster is via lynch, anything at night could be absorbed. Franczeska, as likely scum, could be dealt with by a vig or some such similar role at night. It's still a bit of a shot in the dark either way, but this feels more right than reversing those roles. Hyacinth hasn't been that scummy, she looks like she's trying to deal with the complications of being the trickster, and Franczeska looks like someone trying to hide being scummy. Just my opinion. Like the bomb that doesn't go off until tonight? Or, hopefully, not at all. Confusing.
  3. Couldn't we just forget about that? They don't need another kill. Say it got lost in the mail or something! Air mail to ships like this is unreliable! Here, have a marshmallow anyway, as long as you're staying out of the blood like a good baby. I can't argue with any of your points, including the wish to vote for both of them. Alas, the stars may eventually find a way. The fact that you used a role on me, supposedly, for no other reason than to use it, is enough to tip the scales. Vote: Hyacinth Hippo As I theorized earlier, I think the trickster can assign themselves a role, but I still doubt it would be the matter-of-life-and-death kind or they could quickly hog, no offense Pernilla, such roles and quickly throw the balance in their favour. That, to me, includes anything related to the bomb, which I have hopefully defused. I realise that my having said role is unconfirmed, I don't even know how to confirm it, and that my theory could look self-serving, but it is my genuine thought on the subject. A trickster with the power of life and death that directly would be insanely overpowered and break reality. No one wants a broken reality, it's like a broken mirror, only bad things can follow.
  4. It is important that I share this before we waste too much time barking up the wrong tree. I have received a clarification on my night 1 action, the lullaby. It has now been confirmed that I made Benicia sing a lullaby to one of the baby dragons. Which one, is unspecified and I still haven't had the satisfaction of hearing said lullaby, which I expected to be adorable. 0/10, want a refund. With that in mind, I feel like it's very unlikely that she's the trickster. It doesn't speak at all to her being town or scum, obviously. I think that brings us back to the dark clouds hanging over the chart of Hyacinth, who just replied as I am writing this and wow, more clouds. The stars are dancing wildly now but their message is unclear. Since we are speculating on the mechanics of things, I am going to venture my own uneducated take on it. I think the trickster can give themselves a role. I suspect it is from a slightly less powerful subset of the main pool of roles, like not allowing them to be a vig or anything involved with the bomb. Non-lethal stuff. That theory might also clear Shainen, since the mirror role had a lot of lethal potential. I'm sure others qualify, but again, it's just a theory anyway. Oh boy. I think we're going to be seeing some discussion of this. I'm going to need to take a little time and try to put two and two together here. I do not see a lot of 4 in this future.
  5. So I just looked at the result again and I think I see a vague point I missed. I wish I didn't have to paraphrase it because the official wording is more vague, but it basically says that I successfully defuse any bomb given to my target. But it also doesn't confirm that a bomb was given to them, only might've been. I can't get the wording any closer without breaking the rules, but it's an easy point to miss in the excitement of seeing "successfully" in a result like this. The stars are so much easier to read!
  6. Sorry, I missed that the first time as meme spam. My thought was perhaps misguided, but a bit of wishful thinking at seeing the bomb tossed over the side, safely defused, and then exploding (but harming no one) as we all looked away because we're cool like that. It was a holdover from night 1 when I used the Baby Dragon Lullaby and hoped, nay, expected to see a lullaby in the next intro. I keep expecting more theatrics in the comics, I can't imagine why. I was only told that I had successfully protected you, there was no mention of the lullaby itself.
  7. This discussion is moving too fast, I almost missed you. That explains a lot, thank you. Despite that, you don't get marshmallows, those are reserved for the babies. Back to the bowels for you. I will give you a gift though, a new name. Since your type kills people and you admit to hating baby dragons, how about Assassin Assholes? It's nicely alliterative. Alternately, Murderous Magpies, as you're all in the same family, corvid. Awfully close to another name in the news lately...
  8. Another confusing point about the whole thing. Someone I spoke to had theorized that defusing the bomb would save both my target and the hider if they targeted the same person, but if what Omrom said is right and the hider gets their own bomb, your theory makes perfect sense.
  9. I just meant that it was good that I got a result because it meant it did go through today. I really didn't understand that. You'll remember my concerns about how it would work with it being the next night. If It had actually been the full defusal, I bet we would have seen something in the intro.
  10. What did I tell you, young man??? No more marshmallows for you if you're going to eat blood! Congrats, Rutherford, both for the kill and the award! Only one thing ... why did the crow do your kill if he hates dragon babies and said so? I feel like our resident narrator has messed you over again, like yesterday. Why does he hate you so much? Don't worry, it doesn't make me suspect you again, I'm just giving him a hard time. As for roles, I am told I was successful in mine, so all that worrying I did was for nothing. As a few of you know, I was the defuser, so hopefully there won't be any explosions tomorrow night. Speaking of which, why do we have a second one today with no anarchist to plant a new bomb? Omrom, have you been drinking something else? Wait, one more thing. Why was it a "bad morning"? We got out first success, that's a good morning!
  11. Oh dear, is your tummy empty? Now promise me you'll stop eating blood and I'll give you a whole bunch of tasty marshmallows. Do you know what marshmallows are made of? Neither do I. Let's not find out. That's oddly disturbing and a little exciting at the same time. *ahem* Dreams aren't really my specialty but are you aware of what leather in a dream means? It's always been a good thing in mine. *ahem* Not in front of the babies, not in front of the babies ... *cough* As I was saying, leather signifies happy love and true friendship, so you should embrace it and see what happens, don't run away in fear. And now back to our regularly scheduled program, already in progress.
  12. No no no, dear. Night is when we can see the sparkling, shining stars! The stars look down upon us lovingly, guiding our way through our journeys and the biggest journey of all, life. It's so peaceful and quiet, aside from the sloshing of filthy bucket water and such, but even that has a certain charm if you look at it properly, which is easier to do when those pants are involved. Oh my, I've been distracted again, back to my charts! Was it anyone I knew?
  13. So I was right about the points I made (#'s 1 and 3), you were unsuccessful and you were trying to stay in character. I would doubt the sudden unsuccessful claim if it wasn't for the very late insertion of a vague but obvious clarification by the host. I'm still not sure about #4 and since we're required to vote and no lynch could possibly happen at this point, I'll just leave it where it is. I do have some other suspicions, but they are no more or less than this one and I will be sending those to a few people tonight, the very few I am beginning to feel we can trust. I hope with all these visits on such an important day, that you're planning to bring us cake. Mmmm, cake. Happy birthday, Mom!
  14. I have noticed that and don't know what to make of it. So far, I'm attributing it to his style of communication and not scumminess. I'm still confused by what result he should have gotten and how he reported it. I may be thinking too literally, but if your entire role is to roleblock and it is reflected back on you, you can't both use and not use it at the same time, so to me that is unsuccessful. Schrodinger's Roleblock, so to speak. When it was pointed out and I looked back, it made me think he was making an aside comment, something out of character to indicate a situation that wouldn't happen within our reality. It's a slightly odd choice of methods, but I can accept it. Now that you phrase it the way you do, it makes me wonder if his intent was to appear to be doing exactly that, giving a subtle "see, I'm real, I have a pm and everything!" message. I think that's enough convincing for me. Where there is smoke, there's fire. You're fired! Er. Burn the witch! Vote: Rutherford Raccoon I still think it would either be unsuccessful or some kind of "results unclear" since it falls into such an odd situation. Don't feel bad about the leather, dear, it isn't cow leather. I know cow leather, I'm always wearing it. Haven't you noticed that the crew of this ship recycles everything? There are lots of kinds of leather. That's crocodile. I won't mention where it probably came from, but there's a different thing for you to feel bad about.
  15. It was apparently too subtle for you, but not Marlowe, who immediately took my point and responded. I wasn't actually making any accusation or I would have done so by name, I'm just trying to understand how the trickster might choose to work so we can catch them. I provided what I considered a good example and have also made it clear that there may be other ways for them to hide. I think you are slightly more suspicious than Marlowe, mostly because I find the 'successful' part of your situation to be illogical. Just because two people come to similar conclusions and voice suspicion about you, doesn't mean they're plotting against you. If no one ever agrees on anything, we're never going to find and defeat the scum or the trickster.
  16. The problem for the trickster is that no matter what they claim, that is always a risk, but they have to claim something. I would imagine the timing of their claim might help, like if they come along late and seem to conveniently confirm something someone else said. Trust me, I don't think you're the only option here, nor do I think it has to be someone claiming they failed, I just think that's easier and more likely. There are others who appear as suspicious clouds on my charts. Keep watching the stars! I never noticed the gray thing, but a better reason to suspect him is that he has claimed a role that was unsuccessful, but it's being reported as successful. I refuse to accept that a rolestopper who was mirrored would return a successful result. It's a paradox when applied to that role. Still, that's just unnecessary confusion. The real point is that he could easily be lying about it, assuming Caladon's unknown role (that only the trickster would know) and applying a convenient excuse for it not to show results (using the mirror that only the trickster would know). It's just one more possibility to consider.
  17. With this talk of the Trickster, here is something to consider. I can only come up with two ways for them to hide, either claim a role they didn't assign or the role of someone who died. We don't know what role Caladon had, but I will bet the Trickster is hiding behind it. They could claim they failed and back it up with a reasonable excuse, like saying they targeted someone who ended up being a Mirror. Since they know who they gave the Mirror role to, that person would appear to back up their claim by confirming that they had it. Wouldn't that be convincing?
  18. I felt like more time could help the scum, since they could end up with the role that lets them talk during the day, but if so many agree that the time will help, it's ok with me. Unvote: Don't extend the day Vote: Extend the day
  19. It's perfectly fine, dear! Sometimes the stars throw complications into our lives, little challenges we don't expect, but we must persevere, never surrender! I learned that from Corey Hart, or as I call him, the CHARTs. I don't actually see where the delay will matter, I can't imagine that anyone should be claiming their roles today, it seems as foolish as it would have been yesterday, so I see no point in delaying the day, especially since it's turned a little quiet. I think there is plenty of time left as it is. Vote: Don't extend the day We love you too, dear. Don't think that's an excuse to get handsy.
  20. It is weird, but maybe they just figured you were a safe target, or they aren't very bright. Let's hope for the latter, but not count on it. The more likely possibilities: Did anyone else know you were the vig? Did you discuss your other suspicions with anyone who might have wanted to prevent that from going any further? Maybe they wanted to frame someone who suspected you yesterday? So that was another of your suspicions. Did anyone know?
  21. I'm thinking it did have some additional purpose, but he didn't want to share it. I feel like it might have been some kind of weak block (or jailer, if you think about the name), like mine was a weak protection. In the end, the lullaby didn't even have amusement value. I was disappointed by that, I expected a little entertainment for the babies.
  22. Oh dear, the stars were certainly not kind to us! Poor Caladon and Mobley. I know that a number of us suspected Mobley yesterday and I expected to make a bit of a case against him today for his seemingly incomplete roleclaim, but there is little point now. I will clarify why I felt suspicious of it, by way of claiming my own role. I ended up with the Baby Dragon Lullaby, which I used on Benicia as she seems very townie to me. The role is a weak protector, giving the target 25% kill immunity. I am told it was successful, so I wasn't blocked or anything, as far as I can tell. I'm going to reread the intro now and see if I can make any sense out of it. It's kind of confusing, bordering on insane. Oh, and congrats to Benicia and Bartosz for their roleplay award and resulting pants. I should have seen that coming with Uranus rising and all.
