  1. Similar to what I heard from my local. They said Lego is obsessed with their release dates and tries not to let stock get to retailers more than a few days before hand, so the vast majority of stores don't have any of the new sets yet. Lego will simply not send the Ospreys, give retailers their money back, and so only a very small number which arrived early are ever going to make it to store shelves.
  2. I would like to know, does anyone have any ideas which European/ UK stockists will have those precious few which they are allowed to sell? I'm more than happy to queue for opening time next Saturday, like it's some strange nerdy Black Friday sale, but I've had no luck so far contacting any Lego sellers in the UK. Most weren't expecting to get the new Technic sets before the August 1st release, which means they don't have any right now, and so won't be selling any Ospreys.
  3. If the stores know what's up, they'll implement one set per person limits. If they have even more sense, they'll buy some with their own paychecks, and then resell them themselves online. I'm keen to pick one up at a local store because of nostalgia for making a motorised V-22 myself as a kid, but I can't really blame people who will want to pick up multiples and make a profit. It's kinda a historic set now, being both the first (and last) officially licensed Lego "war" set, and exceptionally rare.
  4. So apparently retailers who already have the set in their stock ARE allowed to sell it. Lego has stated "For stock which is already in storerooms of retailers, they will be able to sell the set – we just wouldn’t be shipping any more copies. For sets in our warehouses, we are currently working through our plans for the sets and will explore ways to reduce waste and reuse elements – that AFOLs are interested in them has been raised!" This raises the question: will stores bother to wait until August 1st now, or just put it on their shelves immediately (Lego has washed their hands of it) and on that note, where to look to buy it? Too large a store, likely they have already arranged a return to Lego. Too small and they probably won't have ordered any in the first place. I'm in Sheffield, England. Any suggestions? I've already sent out some enquiries about stock to some nearby retailers.
