  1. If Frau-Frau went anywhere, I attempt to follow the fluff ball.
  2. I am left utterly bewildered by the scene. "How odd. She refuses to admit to worshiping demons, but states plainly that she used a man for an 'experiment.' What kind of experiment. Perhaps we're all reading into this too much and she's just trying to sound scary. She's practically a kid. What do you make of her, Karie? As dangerous as she sounds or as dangerous as she looks?"
  3. They ignore the advice they're given but these young heroes always come back for help when they run into problems. Typical." "Well, Karie, here, seems to think otherwise. So I will repeat her question, 'what exactly do you do?' She seems convinced that you've sacrificed people to demons or something of the like...and is that really a skull on your staff? "I guess you were right about the Albatross..." I mumble to Karie.
  4. "No, my good sir, we are in fact here on an important mission. We have reason to suspect that a dangerous creature may be lurking about. The little dog was following it and led us here. Of course, I am inclined to believe the dog is mistaken, but just in case, have you seen any strange sights?"
  5. I watch the exchange silently, annoyed by everything.
  6. "For one, I am not a priest. Secondly, what does my being a priest have to do with swearing. All God-fearing men must swear fealty to Him."
  7. "By God, what are you people, spies? We go out for the specific reason of holding a private discourse away from the ears of those within the hall and we are followed by not one, but two peeping toms." Turning and looking sternly down on Calamity, I query. "Are you truly a demon worshiper?"
  8. Yes, really a great quest. I would have loved to participate in it.
  9. I look at Karie somewhat stupefied. "Surely, you cannot be serious." is all I can get out.
  10. "Wait, wait, calm down. Are you sure about this? She didn't look too evil and I didn't see any skull staff, but I guess I didn't give more than a glance in her direction. Sowing discord in the hall is dangerous. I will certainly need proof of her evil before acting. Again, I have to inform you that, unfortunate as it is, with all the villains creeping these halls, heroes do have the heroic protection, no matter how bad they are. It is why I have never been able to rid the hall of all the vampires, devils, and undead that have prowled our halls. Still, I am sure there is something we can do if the case is as serious as you are making it out to be. What else do you know of her?"
  11. "What is this about? What is the need for the secrecy? Why would we need to go to one of the 'safest places in Eubric? Besides, it's probably better that we don't go anywhere too 'secret' alone." I shuffle my feet about uncomfortably. "If the bad guy is more of a threat than the friend has potential for good, then of course, stop the bad guy," I say quickly, before following Karie out of the hall.
  12. "We are on important quest to catch some man-eating creature. We could certainly use any assistance you can provide us with. What are those things behind you?"
  13. Petaldan whips out his sword once again, and joins the pursuit. "We will surely slay the fiendish beast this time around."
  14. I sheath my sword. "Is that a kind of plant you planted or did it come from outside the garden?"
  15. "O-kay...please don't tell me you're possessed or...like...carrying one..."
  16. "What are you saying? We are here to destroy that creature and we will do so. We didn't come here to stroll in the garden...as nice as it is. We should hunt it down and bring it to its end. Unfortunately, where I came from I always had squires who did the 'hunting down' part..."
  17. "You only mentioned it after." "Business? What kind of business?" Slowly, I get up from the table, uncertain whether I wanted to follow the painted musician.
  18. [color-#800000]"If the opponent was worth taking the name of, it was probably a mistake to fell him and if you felled him, it's probably a mistake to take his name. And yes, if their prices are 200 and 60 gold respectively, then that would be what they come to."[/color] I shrug. "I suppose." "I'm guessing the Wolfgang then. Their supporters are growing bolder and bolder. There once was a time when you wouldn't have been able to state your affection for them openly in the hall. I suppose they are becoming accepted now...unfortunately." "Wow, you've got a lot of bitterness against a lot of people. Do you have actual reasons for that beyond wild accusations at prejudice? Prejudice isn't always a bad thing, you know? There can be a lot of "good" reasons for problems cropping up between parties, just make sure that you're not basing your judgement of people because of an occasional slip they make." "If you are interested and have the time, I will gladly recount some tales. Remember, though, heroing is not about the hero at all, but about those who were affected by the actions of the hero. Sometimes small actions can perform great deeds for others. For instance, Heroica is dependent on the marketplace. However, the marketplace would cease to exist in all likelihood if it had not been saved from ruin by me and a few other heroes. In such a way a relatively small action on my part is helping all those who heroica assists these days. Being a hero is not about getting anything out of the job, it's about what you can give."
  19. As a cleric, you can't "cast" anything. You can just attack with the Diamond Staff and choose whether to do so from the front row or the back row.
  20. Taken aback by the turn of events, Parfenius can only just swing his sword at wizard-devouring monster. "That animal in your tummy won't eat us, will it? Maybe it's the child of this other monster?"
  21. "Pleased to meet you. I am Sir Petaldan Parfenius. Here to be of service. We shall surely destroy this fiendish foe for you, my good sir! By the way, are you sure it was a plant and not an animal disguised as a plant?" Turning to Windus, "It is good to have a doctor on the team."
  22. I am somewhat taken aback by Jinnipher's tone. "For what purpose did you join Heroica, may I ask?" "I don't see how someone can feel like they can hand out a title such as that. One can only hand out titles if its from their line of work. I could not, for instance, proclaim you a "true alchemist" since alchemy is not my practice or profession, and I am unfortunately no expert at it." "Well, said, and it appears the more messes we clean, the more crop up. I sometimes wonder if maybe people are becoming overly reliant on Heroica and willing to do crazy stuff because they know that if they get into a scrap of trouble some heroes will be able to bail them out. "It's unfortunate that some people seem to only be in Heroica as a way of supporting themselves. I mean, these days if you are rogue and are not rolling in cash, you've got to be doing something wrong. Apart from that though, just trying to make a business of heroing will not get you too far. ...By the way, if any of you need stuff from the marketplace, I can get you a fifteen percent reduction on all items."
  23. Happy birthday, Flipz!
  24. "Glorified 'mercs'? That's awful. I sure hope not everyone is just that!"
