    I look on, at first assuming Gabriel knew the being, but then realizing he did not. Strange that he divulges personal information so freely, I muse. "Well, don't let us disturb you. Gabriel is in some hurry here, apparently. Have a remarkable day."

    I look on quizzically as Lind speaks to the strange being, keeping up my gait.

    Growing frustrated, I attack the Triffid from the back row.

    I monitor the exchange, not sure if I'm willing to share my possessions with the unusual girl. "Well, that's about as good as it usually gets. It reminds me of this time when we had to destroy this machine that was spawning demons that were taking over this gnome community. We had to kill the inventor too...because he stupidly refused to let us kill the chief demon."

    "Oh, right, this is Karie's husband we are talking about, isn't it? Let's hope for her sake that he's not...still possessed, that is."

    I hand the pair of Swift Boots to the Whisperer. Check new inventory Endgame. Thanks! I'm down 14 gold and up a Mead, Remedy, and 3 Potions. "So from what I get of it, your brother was somehow possessed by demons and attacked his fellows on the mission and then got his arm chopped off as a result. Let's hope, if that's the case, that he's not still possessed in any way."

    I enter the marketplace and purchase a pair of Swift Boots for 60*.75=45 Gold.

    I nod in greeting to Mr. Cour. "Eh? If he's the boss, you'd best not get on his bad side."

    I purchase a Sleep Bomb for 50*.75=38 gold.

    "I just stabbed that creature through and through and he didn't die. What kind of place is this. These are most unusual enemies, indeed. I wonder how we can force the 'Triffid' to cough up the man inside without killing him. Do any of you know what happened when Mister Waldorf escaped?" I think we basically need to roll special damage against it. If it takes too much damage, then Drucilla will have to stop targeting it. "Perhaps I should target the Triffid, since I can't seem to hurt these food things." Nevertheless, not wanting to be a nuisance to the party in the midst of combat, Petaldan repeats.

    "Oh, really? I thought the relaxing of the "security" was what led up to the attack. Interesting that it only occurred after."

    Parfenius quickly surveys the situation and decides to attack one of the golems, since neither is targeted. "The meaty one looks to happy to be real threat, so I'll take the mean face!" Parfenius attacks the Salad Golem from the Back Row.

    "Wow! Rough times. After you got rid of the demon-carriers, what happened? Was everyone forced out or did you all leave in...frustration, should I say? Somebody really did try to go to Doomsayer's Island then...not a good idea."

    Not waiting for an invitation, I take a seat. "Could you tell me a bit about what happened...then? You see, I worked at Heroica for years, but then left for a while to sort out some issues in a village...it's a long story. When I returned, just a few short years ago, much had changed. Were you around when the change occurred. I was informed there was some sort of clean sweep...so to speak."

    I approach Jinnipher. "Since you mentioned being around the hall for a while. Do you know a certain 'Retak Ysp'?"

    "I've taken down demons...I'm even quite good at it, but the protection granted to heroes is beyond my personal power to get past. However, when here, she denied worshiping demons which would mean one of two things, she fears us, or she regrets her previous actions, either of which is a hopeful sign."
