Heroica RPG - Quest#155: The Grunch Who Stole Grogmas
Palathadric replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Perhaps the inventor wanted to donate them to the kids, but discovered some discrepancies in the design that would be harmful, so he took them back. That hardly accounts for the greenskin, though. It shows the problems that getting into all of this machinery and automatons can get one into." Wondering if magic is at work, I step out of the cave for a second and examine the surroundings with my Telescope. -

"Did you expect any more from beings such as these? Usually such beings' sole purpose in life appears to be to frustrate the workings of those who attempt to do good for humanity." -

I attack Jacqueline twice from the Front Row with the Tyrant's Maul. "What was the point in preventing us from just passing through unhindered?" I demand. -

I attack Dual-Strike Yeti Thrall A and then Dual-Strike Yeti Thrall B from the Front Row with Heaven and Hell. "Thank you!" I nod to Matthias, before sending a glower Vindsval's way. -

I growl at the party. "Why do you keep making me take hits from these Wights when you know that there are many of you who are immune to their power. I can handle the Yetis, but if there are free hits to be had, I should not have to take them from the Wights." If Matthias doesn't nurture me, I drink a remedy. I then attack Silent Wight C and Yeti Thrall A from the Front Row with the Dual Staff and Heaven and Hell respectively. -

Okay, I guess Artisans can only use one extra item per round regarless of being hastened? Assuming somebody cures me, I drink a Nostrum and Attack Wight Dual-Strike Wight A with the Dual Staff from the Front Row -

Not agreeing with the greenskin's plan, but realizing that the poor gnome would probably feel intimidated by the massive hulk, I use a Smelling Salts on Matthias instead of attacking. -

I forget how Druid's healing works, but if all their healings remove negative effects, could Matthias heal Pretzel? Pretzel is throwing a Blind Bomb, so we don't need to feel pressured to attack them immediately if we're unprepared. -

"This is ridiculous!" I declare, frustratedly. Quickly, I sniff at some Smelling Salts before throwing a Blind Bomb. I then down a Nostrum before Dual-Striking Silent Wights A and B from the Front Row with the Dual-Staff. "If somebody can afford to remove this curse from me, I'd be much obliged." -

I Dual-Strike Yeti B with Heaven and Hell, from the Front Row leaving Yeti A to suffer the effects of my heavy blow on him. -
Saddest quest ever.

I attack Yeti Thrall A from the Front Row with the Tyrant's Maul. So sorry for not being around, guys. We had no electricity over the weekend and our generator had problems as well. I think I should be able to post more faithfully now, and I'll still try to solve the puzzle when I have time. -

Okay. For some reason I stupidly assumed that we started on the ice. Thanks for your patience. -

I'm not sure if I'm daft, but how many studs are we allowed to move per rise/fall, or is it not based on studs at all? From what you said, it seems like it's just one, but the first ice block sinks in the first scene, so how are we supposed to get to the next one without drowning? Or am I missing the point entirely? -
I down the drink readily, cheering up almost immediately. "I love magic, especially when people use it for such nice things."
-
"No. Unfortunately, there hasn't been much to do here lately. Sometimes I do imagine myself doing great deeds, and it almost seems like the same thing."

"Not the same...but similar enough to give no doubt as to the source being the same." -
I would say it's like Hybros' Golden Armour. But I guess that doesn't have the weakness/immunity issue.

Never kill a Zepher friendly NPC. That's his responsibility.

I approve.

The conversation between Torald and Ezeran goes over Petaldan's head, but he nods along sagaciously. "It is very nice," he says, regarding the Baubel. "Unfortunately, I think it wouldn't live up to its potential if you just use it for casting spells through."
