  1. As we wouldn't use the term 'downtown' in the UK, I believe this is probably refering to a classic american city cop (peaked cap, truncheon). As goes for most of this list, it sounds likes someones interpretations of what they've seen rather than an official list. As mentioned above Dr.Splitz is an existing character, as is Maid Marion (though probably in the public domain) and much likely to be 'Medieval Damsel/Princess' if it were to fit in with the current naming protocols (eg Ocean King instead of Poseidon/Neptune, Grandma Visitor instead of Little Red Riding Hood etc etc).
  2. Posted on a Brickset article are some links to the box colours. So yes, looks like 9 is silver, and 10 is gold. http://www.brickset.com/news/article/?ID=4510#comments The pictures are nothing to get excited about, just the standard prelim box shot with '?' on grey minifig outlines, and it's stamped confidential so I won't post them here.
  3. Nice work! I think it looks a lot better in 'flight mode' than when on it's little legs. Was this how you built it? I guess it reminds me of a bat, or pteradactyl in that respect, born to fly.
  4. Nice work. It's good to know that the old school pieces can be given a modern edge whilst still retaining their 'look'. I've got a few falcons so may have to give this a go myself.
  5. ^He's bald... I'd rather that than some type of 'bald cap'. ^^ Great picture! Where did you find official 'front on' pictures of all of them? I've been squinting at the set pictures until now. Such a great line up of new torsos, beards, and hair. Though realistically, unless they release in a battle pack all together... I'm not going to be able to collect them all. Looks like they've put Bifur's 'broken axe blade to the head' as part of his beard as well
  6. I just meant, that if TLG makes a new mould, than in all likelihood it will filter it's way into standard sets. That said I'd agree with the above view that the highlander and gladius swords seem to be the standard so perhaps this new mould will be retained for whatever non-licensed castle stuff appears in the future. Another view might be it is just a one-off for this set, seeing as they seem to be made in China, so perhaps have adapted the mould/design for that production method? Only time will tell, but I was quite a fan of the old classic rounded sword :(
  7. Interesting! I'd imagine that the new mould is for a purpose, rather than just updating/changing something for the sake of it. Without a doubt these will appear in future LOTR/Hobbit sets. Like the highlander sword becoming the LOTR standard. Not quite as keen on it as the classic style, but is probably stronger, I find the classic sword often end up with 'bend' damage near the hilt.
  8. I'm guessing that's why the stock ran dry... I picked a few of the torsos up when they were quite cheap, so think I'll be hanging onto them! I also have a black and a white version of the pony http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30032 And a black polar bear http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=x206c01 I'm assuming they were production prototypes or something.
  9. No offence, but unless they're the manager, they're unlikely to know that much info, and have probably just been told 'Legends of Chima - it's just like Ninjago but with new characters'. All signs point to early 2013 being the last Ninjago wave, and it wouldn't make financial sense to have two similar themes(figs, game, cards, audience) running alongside each other.
  10. The idea and richness of the background is really good. I think the idea of a guild with an eastern-styled culture is great and brings a new diversity to the lands of Historica. I like your figure combinations, especially the Empress and the guardsmen.
  11. I'd hazard a guess that any 'Malibu Mansion' (in the Iron Man sense, not the Barbie one) would be similar to the current Lego Batcave. So basically a two level playset, as opposed to a full on modular/creator four-walled house. You've got to remember Lego's CORE audience, which is kids. A couple of 'mansion' rooms at the top with the lab beneath. With flick fire missiles.
  12. The foliage work are instantly recognisable as a 'Falworth'. Great atmosphere, the storyline really helps. I've just been looking at how the MOClympics works, but can't work out which song title you chose? Hound Dog?
  13. It's a nice little car, but would have made a whole lot more sense if it came with a Vampire driver (and would have been a great way to get the Monster Fighters Vampire), especially as the same zombie come in another polybag http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=40076-1.
  14. When I think Lone Ranger, I always think of this cartoon... I really hope the film doesn't make him out to be some doofus with Tonto always coming to the rescue...
  15. As spotted by Nori on the brickset news page, the new minifgure sticker book (Jan 2013) on Amazon has a Chima figure on the front (as well as I think the first look at the new ninjago outfits? but I digress). http://www.brickset.com/news/article/?ID=4200 http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1409367827/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=19450&creativeASIN=1409367827&linkCode=as2&tag=brickset-21
  16. Yeah they did... over a year ago when that article was published!!!!!!!!! They have since rewritten it, reduced the budget and filmed it.
  17. From what I've read about the development of the film it may deviate quite a bit from the original character/show. There was talk of supernatural elements... so imagine a 'Pirates of the Caribbean' style western... Werewolves, zombies and Johnny Depp as Tonto with a dead crow stuck to his headress.
  18. Yeah I'm pretty sure there was an interview last year that confirmed they were in design stages up to series 9 (that was a year ago, so I assume if they are STILL working on them, they may well be designing series 12...) but I guess designs can always be canned if sales drop or whatever. Series 1 was yellow... so I guess they'd need to use a slightly different shade? As for my guesses... Female Vampire Good Knight Female Hippy Some kind of sportsperson Another skater or skier And a couple of national stereotypes.
  19. Wow, sorry for dragging this one up from before the summer but I'd missed your update with the barding. It wasn't really a request but I'll definately have to try and use it now. I've printed it out but it comes out really small. It that my printer or the file size do you know? Great stuff!
  20. Everything is new once! :D I love that it opens up. Lego is for playing! Great work on making something a little different from the normal historical setting. PoP may have bombed, but it gave us some great new pieces. Looks great.
  21. It's the modern Captain BrickBeard http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=973pb524c01 Glad you like it.
  22. On a visit to Edinburgh I saw a statue commemorating of the Blackwatch and it sparked off this idea. Highland Guard by andhe :-), on Flickr The torso/kilt combo was actually something I had already done for this guy Highland Battler 2 by andhe :-), on Flickr
  23. According to a source on Brickset Legends of Chima is the replacement for Ninjago, so not a historical theme. The characters have Animal heads like Cats, Lions, alligators, Eagles, Dogs, but with 'cool scars' and minifig bodies, and they have Ripcords instead of Spinners. This will be alongside the TMNT stuff which sounds like a smaller line (similar to Spongebob I'm guessing). The Ninja Turtles Baxter's Revenge set has a ton of minifigs. The new space theme has Insects as the bad guys with matching vehicles (whether this is the polar/ice theme sounds unlikely? So maybe there is still a Arctic adventurers style thing as well). Plus the Ninjago has one more round with the GOLD NINJA and the GOLDEN DRAGON these plus instead of Garmadon it's now Garmatron and he's huge. This isn't my info, just passing it on. Make of it what you will.

I guess Turtles will be a smaller line, similar to Spongebob, as they say there's only 6 sets.
