I'm like the Green Window 1 x 4 x 3 Train : Inexplicably extra rare, when it could be extremly useful & popular , still unfortunately formally it is not existing at all..

Take the (PF-engine 8866), on the old 9 volt rails
Kisvakond replied to ust60's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Good work! I've been thinking of using something similar solution with solid copper sliders, but I think the soldering 'copper-wire' stip is better because it is softer and easy to replace.. Nice idea. -
New Option for Dual Motor PF Locomotives
Kisvakond replied to mostlytechnic's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Nice! I will try it. -
Hi Stari89! I really hope it, because there was a really good company of friends in Keszthely, every participants & our Guests had enjoyed the meeting, this event has a special & great feeling thanks to the good company , the common LEGO Technic interest and maybe the consumed fine hungarian Wines & Spirits (pálinka ) also helped to raise the great mood of the event. In case of the next meeting / race I can not say anything sure yet: maybe it would be held in Warsaw, 2012 (although this is just a non-official plan so far!!!) Oh, noo.. it was just a friendly meeting yet, as the description of our video report says: "Once upon a time some hungarian MALUG-members hit upon the idea of organizing a private, friendly LEGO Truck Trial Meeting in Hungary for the Truck Trial fans of the nearby Central European LUG-members just for having fun, etc.. " ..because no any Common "EU-conform" Truck Trial Rules are existing yet, but we will working on it with our Polish Friends. Still then you can investigate some of: LUGPOL http://www.lugpol.pl...pic.php?t=14924 (new ones, in Polish) http://www.bricktruc...cle=132〈=en (old ones, but in English) MALUG http://www.bricktruc...cle=226〈=en (update soon..) etc.. So, I think you have to contact your local LUG first.. I see you are from Slovenia, so you must a Kocke.eu LUG-member (or maybe from Kocke Klub?) Anyway Zblj will inform you, we are in contact.

Help w/ Building a Jacob's Bogie
Kisvakond replied to Spike the train builder's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Yes, one of my LUG-mate kvp has a good solution for this, so you can build one, this way for example (See the yellow-black coloured solutions): http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=437361 It was tested in his SIEMENS Desiro during several exhibition: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=478371 -
Hello Spikey! It could be possible, but multiple units are not really my business.. I like to build locos and freight trains. ..but one of my LUG-mate kvp is addicted to build these multiple units ( http://hu.wikipedia....wiki/Motorvonat ) Look at his great "Silkworm", which is "close relative" of the BDVmot : http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=4835775

Some further photos from March 2o11, on my "Beka" locomotive: (thanks for the photos to my LUG-mate vbazsa) The pulled railcar is a Ks-330 series type flatcar with low sidewalls used by the Local Railways of Budapest (and the State Railways too..): http://www.dansk-jer...44bhev/44ks.jpg

Hello Thorsten! Nice work! Well done! I think an RF-transciever is the one most wanted thing we wanted for ages for our PF-system! "Dear SANTA.. " I'm looking forward your further stuff..

Longer Pneumatics
Kisvakond replied to allanp's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I don't know, but I - and many others (Technic fans, Technic builders & MOCers, etc.) - would support it ASAP GO Cuusoo or whatever! -
Nice design, great details!
-
Thanks Hrw-Amen! (Btw I really like your MOC: 'Guards Van', nice details too! )
-
Thanks lightningtiger! Altough it's a last year modell - too big, heavy & not so sophisticated - I became a real "pantograph maniac" because I am struggling for create more & more precise ones.. Ok, thanks, you too!

Thanks, Leg Godt Gud! Yes it has working PF lights. 'peterab' has already revealed the secret: just a PF/9V converter cable was used, because of the lack of space..

Hi Toastie! Sound like a dream for all LEGO Train Fans! :D I'm also interested in modding/ or adding RF communication to the exsisting PF system, becasuse it has its own limits aslo in delivered power, same as working range, due to the limited IR-technology.. I think RF is the best solution for this application. Please brief us, if you manage to 'cook out' something.. Keep up the good work!

Hello kyphur! Thanks, of course, here is the original photo (1st in the folder) of the original modelled little BURV-1 loco built in 1896 by Ganz factory for the Budapest-Újpest-Rákospalota Local Railway : http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=449361 Further photos: http://villamosok.hu/nza/beka.html These locos were very tiny, little, cute, stumpy, dumplings so from here comes their name: "Béka" which means "Frog" It also expains the relative big pantograph, as you see on the several original picture (on the link above): it comes all shapes and sizes. I thought later, that a frog must be green of course.. that is why I built it in green color. These locos were used to also forward passanger cars.. : ..same as freight cars too serving the needs of the booming local industry of Budapest at the beginning of the 20th century:

So, after a long period - I'm back again opening my own topic here - as I promised, and my main goal is to 'shocking' all of you with my former train MOC's.. Just kidding.. Let's see.. My First 9V MOC with working PF LED-lights + manually adjustable pantograph from last year: GANZ BHEV "Beka" Locomotive from 1896, Hungary See it in action at a MALUG-meeting at Budapest: http://www.youtube.c...f/0/ktssQLkBDAk Bye, ..::Kisvakond::..

Barman's Lego Power Functions-Controlled Train Switch
Kisvakond replied to DLuders's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Awesome container crane, very clever. The gripping mechanism is 10/10 idea.. But the PF-controlled train switch is not a fortunate solution, because of the acting force is allpied on the top of the yellow lever.. :S It is not good.. it can cause damage on the switch. Leaving 'out of business' :) the yellow lever is the right solution. -
Longer Pneumatics
Kisvakond replied to allanp's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Me too, me too.. So.. "Dear Santa.. " :D -
Hi fourlord! Thanks, I've built this, I'm after some testing: very clever indeed! Very stable, thanks to the strong spur gear arrangements (moreover in very tiny space), the only thing is - as far as I experienced during testing - that those sliding gears on its sliding axles (so the "2nd floor gears") could be moved/slipped from they right position after several shifting, if they not grip enough each other. Therefore these 'misaligned' gears could block its own turning on the opposite end of the sliding axle. Of course using brand new axles with brand new gears which are grab each other well, maybe this unwanted slipping/moving of gears on the sliding axles could be avioded. So, the accurancy of positioning is more critical here, because in case of these very compact designs there is no room for errors.. (I'm thinking how can be raised the accurancy of shifting/positioning but as I suppose, it would bring the size of the whole thing growing.. Anyway, it's a very compact, effective and well working re-design! Nice modding!

X truck
Kisvakond replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It seems to be very efficient, thanks to the 'live axle' solution, moreover the idea of articulated steering is strong too, like a 'front-end loader' Very clever! Nice work again, Jernej!
