  1. I don't want to be ungrateful but the prize difference between the Americas and Europe- etc is severe. Europe gets a $65 double crossover for regionals and an $85 triple crossover for global prizes. But why the US gets a $40 switch pack for regionals and IF you land in 5 out of 10 categories you get a $25 gift card for Brick Train Depot. Also, there is nothing you can buy at BTD for $25. And if you don't fit in the 5 categories then you get nothing other than a 2X8 and if you do fit in those 5 categories you get a $15 FRED and if there are more than 2 US winners well then there aren't enough FRED's. Europe total prize value: $150 - more than 1 and 1/4 loop of BT r104 track US total prize value: $40 or $75 - a bit more than 1/2 a loop of BT r104 track How is this fair, how does the US get botched like this? For ocTRAINtober, the highest prize was $329 and the lowest was $40. I cost BT $20 to produce a loop of track can they give away a loop of r120 for each global winner or is that too hard. I was expecting a loop of r56 for regionals or a switch pack and a loop of r120/104 for globals, not a switch pack, and maybe a $25 gift card for regionals and either NOTHING or a $15 FRED. BTW BT hasn't even listed r104 switches on their website. What do you think?
  2. I feel like I have seen that before on amazon and it was in stock.
  3. I like the idea of having a non-high rail so we can have scale(10/9/8 wide) and non-scale (7/6 wide). I come from a 2 rail O scale background until my kids got me into this crap, now I am addicted to Lego train(bonus they are cheaper) Hi-rail, yes it is not a true model train but you can easily see the big fat flanges. More hi-rail Norm Charbonneau's scale O gauge train with scale track and flanges. Look at the scale. It would be nice to have the option for small flanges and for lower more scale track hight.
  4. Well, @Coal Fired Bricks on a Flickr comment did say that he will be doing resin casting. I checked out the type of resin he is using and it is food grade impact resistant. Here is some info on it TASK® 11 urethane casting resin is a semi-rigid plastic (has some flexibility) that is strong and very tough. Originally developed for high impact tooling (drop hammer punch), TASK® 11 also offers good abrasion and chemical resistance and is ideal for a variety of industrial applications. This product is suitable for some FDA/USDA applications - dry food contact only. TASK® 11 applications include making abrasion resistant parts, foundry patterns, encapsulation, roller facings, metal bonding and vibration pads Not sure what he may be using for molds but if using silicone he can make a rail shape. @slide_potentiometer yes the inside part would have to be thin, not sure how that could be fixed strength-wise. Here is the Flickr link https://www.flickr.com/photos/188099743@N07/49912714948/in/dateposted-public/ @Coal Fired Bricks do you know what you may be doing for a realilistic shape?
  5. What about r56 switches? Will you do any automation? Will this be the planned rail shape? Or will it be any of these?
