Thank you!

Thanks! It's worth a watch for the visuals alone! For the story I prefer (and recommend) the excellent book series!
-
Thanks! I did the napkin math and a minifig scale model would be 52 x 17 x 31 metres. Really puts the mind-bending size of the "real" thing into perspective!

I did! I made a micro scale Salthook (the mining town that gets eaten in the beginning of the movie/first book). Here it is:

Imagine giant moving cities hunting each other to compete for food and resources. This is the world of Mortal Engines. Only the largest, fastest cities remain to roam the remains of a scarred and barren Europe. Traction City London has grown to an immense size with 7 tiers of factories, growling land engines, airship harbours and proudly wearing the mighty St. Paul’s Cathedral as a crown on its Top Tier. With London’s massive size however comes an even greater appetite. Will it be the last Traction City still rolling? Below I've uploaded overview renders, some complete renders and a per tier breakdown. Enjoy! Overview renders Front left Rear right Open jaws Closed jaws Breakdown per tier (top to bottom) Top Tier - St. Paul’s Cathedral, Circle Park, Guild hall Tier 1 - Government offices, luxury apartment buildings Tier 2 - Upper-middle class apartment buildings Tier 3 - Middle class apartment buildings, airship quays Tier 4 - Lower middle-class housing blocks, airship quays Tier 5 - Lower-class housing blocks, airship quays, Navigator’s Guild headquarters Tier 6 - Factories, warehouses, worker’s housing, temple, airship quays Tier 7 - Engine district workers housing, factories, warehouses Base Tier - Engine district, jaws, fuel refinery, warehouses, worker housing, exhaust stacks, main engines, flywheel, auxiliary engines, capacitor banks. If you do please consider supporting the midi scale version I made of this model on Ideas! Link below: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/6b667b9e-d150-4ecd-a73d-a2c7cb587cf8

[MOC] Ford Mustang 1964
royalspud replied to Bartonius's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'd put this next to the Mustang GT in a heartbeat! -
Hi all! I've completed my contemporary modular MOC and dubbed it "Modern Living"! I've also made an exploded view, updated renders all around and a presentation video. Thank you!

I did that for my new pictures! I'll post a new topic soon with the finished product if that's allowed Thank you! I wanted something a little different from the official modulars!
-
Thank you for your feedback! I've since submitted this MOC to Ideas so I'll make a new topic soon with the "finished" product (if that isn't against forum rules). I can still make incremental upgrades so I can update the interior and try to make it pop a bit more in time! In the meantime: LINK to Ideas Thank you!

Thanks for your advice in this! I'll be submitting it to Ideas soon!

I've updated the interior and renders! I did mess around with the colours somewhat but ultimately came back to what is was. Thank you! I've added more details (window sills, AC unit) so I'll upload some new renders here soon.
-
By all means! I tried my hand at some licensed ideas (although none as widely popular as Spongebob) so this will be my first unlicensed Ideas submission. My submissions so far: Traction City London (Mortal Engines) The Dreamatorium (Community) I'll mess around with some colours and see if I find anything good! Ad the thumbnail is definitely a good tip! Time to brush up on my Photoshop skills! I'm just afraid modern style modulars won't get much support because they don't fit within the existing line-up. I've seen quite a few stellar modern modular buildings but never with much support.
-
You're welcome! I put some stuff on Ideas myself already but I'm planning on upping the game with this project. How did you get to 10k? I'm starting on the modifications today btw. You mentioned the "generic" colour scheme. Any combination/addition you'd like to see?
-
Thanks for your feedback! I've got arond 400ish parts to play with before I hit the magic 3000 so I can try and add some window sills (although I've never made those before) and an AC unit. What would your tips be on interior pics? I've got some top down renders but it's a very cramped space for the perspective camera to fit into. The lighting from the rendering engine in stud.io doesn't help either.. I don't mind nitpicks on the small stuff! If I submit it to Ideas I want all the boxes ticked! Also: congrats on 10k supporters on Ideas! I am one of them!

I'm new to the forum because I've recently started to create MOC's and so far I'm completely addicted! This is the first modular I've built so I wanted to show you and ask for feedback. I'm sure there's still room for improvement! I'm hoping to make a design worth submitting to Ideas! (If the contemporary styling won't throw people off, that is!) Thanks for checking out my post!!
