  1. I picked up indoor rock climbing last year. But a lockdown where i am means climbing gyms have been closed for about 2.5 months now. I decided to make a MOC of a climbing gym. It was a good chance to use many of my random parts. See how many you can spot! Another angle (forgot to rotate the minifig head so the face wasn't showing, oops): And a close-up of a climber straining to get up: Comments and criticism welcome!
  2. Wow! Could you post a video of the gear mechanism working (i.e. showing the back of the build while you turn the wheel)? I can't figure out how the moving balustrades work!
  3. thanks! Sadly I don't have space in my tiny apartment for too many builds, so I intend to take this one apart once I start making a new MOC :( Or perhaps I might turn this into a multi-storey building!
  4. Thanks! Yeah, I wanted to build a fully fleshed out interior and I thought walls would make it hard to see the details. But I still wanted to try some SNOT work and lettering so I only did the front wall. Thanks! sounds like a good idea for another build , maybe! Thanks! Maybe I'll build a pub next door, to cater to those who have no taste I'm glad you noticed! I've seen quite a lot of bar builds where the bar counter was just a long table, just because most people probably haven't seen the back of a bar. I started out trying to build a full counter with a sink but had to move the sink to the back in the end, which i think worked out okay. And i left exposed studs in the bar area to act as a "non-slip mat" of sorts, to make up for the lack of grille plates in my inventory
  5. Hello! I've been lurking for a while but I think I finally have something post-worthy. Here's my latest creation - Mo's Diner, a simple diner with Nothing to Hide. This was inspired by Crif Dogs/ Please Don't Tell, a real-life speakeasy in NYC: http://nyjournal.squarespace.com/journal/2010/8/17/crif-dogs-please-dont-tell.html The exterior of the diner, with simple retro lines. There's a bench and a bin outside too. Can't really see the chain very well here, but the girl in blue just chained up her bike and she's heading in for a bite. The guy seems to recognise her (or is he checking her out?) Interior of the diner, with counter and booth seating. There's 2 staff behind the counter. There's a lot of food cooking, I hope the fume hood is working. There's a couple enjoying their sandwich and coffee in a booth. The bathroom (copied the toilet from the Pet Shop instructions) A top-down view of the diner. Hmm, there seems to be a passage on the right of the entrance, away from the diner. Looks too classy to be part of a diner. Is that a telephone booth at the end? Yes, it seems like a telephone booth indeed. But the phone isn't wired up to anything... and why is there a second hidden door inside the telephone booth? Let's open it... Ah! I see you found the hidden bar. Welcome to "Nothing To Hide", a modern-day speakeasy that specialises in craft cocktails. There's two couples in here enjoying some drinks. The bartender just whipped up something for the couple at the counter. Nothing To Hide has a wide selection of liquors. There's some shelving below, and what looks like a chiller on the left. There's also a double sink and space to store drinkware on the right. A picture of the bartender's work area, with a few draft beers on tap. I tried to work in more details into the bar counter such as a soda gun or a speed rack, but there wasn't enough room. Another view of the bar. Hey, what's that on the right of the sink? It looked like a secret door just opened up, revealing a plate of food. Ah, it looks like there's someone passing a pie into the bar. I guess someone ordered a dessert to go with their craft cocktail. The food looks like it's coming from the diner! From what I hear, Nothing To Hide has a "secret menu" - you can order some food to go with your drinks, and it'll be served fresh from the diner. A top down view of the entire diner and cocktail bar. Mo's Diner - a place for honest good food, with Nothing To Hide.
  6. that seems like a lot of effort - i put my old pieces in a big bucket of soapy water, then rinsed it out and laid it out to dry for 3 days. They didn't really get sticky.
  7. Not sure if i'm the exception, bit I personally got back into Lego at the beginning of this year partially because of COVID and social distancing.
  8. or waiting outside the store and asking someone to buy it for you!
