No wonder they had so much trouble finding him! I agree though, rather the figures be accurate on their own than tied to a sticker from 2 years ago.
-
Only just occurred to me and it might have been asked already. Do the James and Lily in this series match the Great Hall sticker?
-
Nah, I'm just going to cycle sets around once I run out of space. Which after DA, will probably be the case.
-
Off topic but is anyone else getting untrusted connection warnings for this site today?
-
Thank you for the correction. Makes his appearance in PoA even weirder.
-
Probably more reckonisable but I think that characterisation of him is really weird. I think the book describes him as hunchbacked but I didn't get the impression that he was creepy or simple in the way that movie shows him. He's like some horror movie butler caricature.

I'm hopeful. I was able to find the individual posters in that scene but I'm not sure where the large sticker of them is supposed to be if that is the LC. If you could point me to the scene, I'd be grateful.

Spoilers!

This thread has been split atwain by Schrodinger Gringotts.

I think it was probably more the way people said it rather than just that they said it though I didn't actually see the posts people got banned for. I really don't think this will be the case though. There have been 2 leaked minifigures, one of which I can't see being anywhere but this set. I'm also almost certain the Daily Prophet door sticker is the size of standard minifigure door like the ones from Privet Drive and Hagrid's Hut

That doesn't sound impossible tbh. I don't know if they've done something like that before but I think it would be a good way to reveal it.
-
Tbh, if they released them at the same time I'd agree with you. It wouldn't be the best option but it'd be alright. Waiting a year for a set that might or might not exist so my $400 purchase feels complete is a big ask though. If you dont think the example of real life places is a good one then look at it this way. Imagine they released the Cloud City D2C without the Vader/Luke duel being included. Sure it makes a fine standalone set and hey, Slave 1 is iconic enough but it still would make the set feel incomplete in an unsatisfying way. Including didn't stop them from making it a more detailed standalone set at a later date either.
-
No, I meant it the other way around. Gringotts is definitely iconic and would be a good $100 set but I don't know that the row of town houses with bay windows that makes up most of Diagon Alley is $400 worth of interesting if it doesn't have Gringotts.
-
But the Great Hall is iconic on its own and doesn't cost $400.
-
$400 is a bit of a loss? I *might* buy a standalone Gringotts but I wouldn't buy the DA set. Similarly I would buy the Great Hall minifig scale set but I wouldn't buy the D2C Hogwarts if it didn't have the Great Hall
-
But they would assumedly care if they sold way less $400 sets because people look at it and it seems to be missing the most noteworthy building.
-
Haha, RIP. That was such a bad example I'm embarrassed. I even googled it and everything. I'll leave it for other people to enjoy my stupidity though.
-
Honestly, if they do a Diagon Alley set without Gringotts, I probably wouldn't get it, at least not immediately. It would be like making a Times Square set without the Flatiron Building. With no LC but with Gringotts I'd be disappointed but probably still get it.
-
I was under the impression that was probably a requirement of Nintendo's rather than Lego's preference. Do the Nintendo sets have any stickers yet other than pre-applied scan pads?
-
The two single wanted posters do look like they could be the ones on the pillars when Arthur is talking to him and the colour does seem to match the brick of the LC interior. I'm hoping you are right.
-
The posters or something else?
-
If there is no sheet E with Gringotts and Leaky Cauldron I honestly think I'll be disappointed regardless of how the set looks. I think it'll be a good set but not for me.
-
Yes, this is absolutely my plan.i already have it so it looks like Kings Cross is connected to the right edge of the detectives office and leads off to the Hogwarts castle sets. My plan is to have, from left to right, DA, my modulars, Hogwarts express station, Hogwarts castle sets.

Hagrid and a well scaled Fang would have to be the easiest to feel bag yet for a CMF. I'd really like that though, we need an official Fang at some point.

Thats fair xD I haven't watched the movies for about 4 years now so lets just say I forgot. I've had that thought about them being a TV show before and the same with the LotR movies. I think in general books do make better TV shows than movies but in 1999 I doubt a TV show would have had the budget to make it as good as the movies so swings and roundabouts I guess.
