I tried to choose sets based on 1. $100 Budget, 2. Third book and earlier, 3. Iconic and recognisable from the books without having to have seen the film. From this I was thinking Knight Bus, Hedwig and Expecto Patronum. However, I do think the burrow set is pretty ace and recognisable even if you haven't seen the movie the set is specifically based on.

Has anyone suggested a remembrall with the first flying lesson inside it, sort of like a snowglobe?
-
Okay, so now I fully believe Guyon's comment about the August wave is completely justified. My guess for the D2C is all the sweets and treats from the Trolley Witch on the first HE trip.

Im not familiar how Target exclusives are generally treated in the UK. Do they just get sold everywhere or are the usually exclusive somewhere else?

August is looking heavily brickbuilt rather than minifigure scale There is a $60 Chess set from the first movie A brick built fawkes, a brick built Harry and Hermione, something quidditch related with a Hooch minifigure and a $250 D2C are the other things I can remember off the top of my head.

Because thats what Warner Bros. has the license for and thats how most people visualise and think about Harry Potter.

I can see the golden owl and the cat head removed but where are the other things people are discussing?
-
I think those are all good and possible ideas, maybe besides Azkaban because I'm just not sure they could make it look that interesting. I disagree with the quoted section though, mainly because sets like the UCS Falcon exists and people buy those so splitting the cost is kind of "more reasonable".

I doubt it would be as small as the 4x4 board from the first advent calendar
-
Well, the bigger the better. More filling.

If theres a Gringotts lego set in 2021, we can all pitch in and buy FalconFan a hat
-
Completely. A $60 chess set is something I would actually consider getting and regardless of what it is, if the D2C is minifigure scale I think it will end up being good. What month is the D2C supposed to launch?

The hair is a bit blonde-ish in my opinion but maybe just the lighting. It's a nice figure for sure overall.

I honestly really like them as a pairing too. In the books I felt like it worked perfectly and didn't feel forced or unrealistic. I haven't read or seen CC but I don't agree with the other comment above that it would be toxic long term. As for my top 3 sets 1. Hogsmeade - the only set I think will look on par and not out of place with 2018-2020 2. Bathroom - for the minifigures alone but the build might be nice behind/within the 2018-2020 hogwarts scene I think those might be the only 2 I get this year but brick built fawkes is the next most interesting/cool for me.
-
It's obviously a brick built replica of Hooch's hair
-
I haven't got any 2020 HP sets other than Diagon Alley so I'll do the same for those.
-
Hm. I was about to guess it might be a remake of the Harry and Quirell Erised scene but I think that would be too logical.
-
Obviously thought it would be too unfair on me to make the UCS Gunship and a good Harry Potter wave in the same year.
-
If it's a pair of figures, maybe Dumbledore and Harry based on the Erised scene. Else Hagrid and Fang with finally a moulded Fang to go with it. Or Dumbledore and Fawkes. Idk

I'm confused why the ears are B shaped like butterfly wings. Is that just weird depth perception and it's the ears and wings individually?

Glad I decided to check the forum right now. Quite the change from the 5pm gmt I thought it was.

I thought it looked like those stones with eyes on them that they use at funerals in Game of Thrones

Honestly tempting to put this quote as my forum signature. Too relatable... 😂

Looks like a sticker but was it pre-applied?

The only set I definitely had from the original line was The Final Challenge - 4702. I liked that the sets were small and affordable to represent the memorable and important scenes from the movie that kids would want to reenact. I loved the Qurrell figure, especially the double sided head, and though I didn't notice it at the time, I like the idea of lots of small room sets slotting together to make a bigger "scene".
