I've made an edit to make QQS sand red. Doesn't look bad but not like the building. Looking at BrickLink's colour guide, I honestly think what they went with was the best choice for the colour.
-
I think it's probably just the reality of trying to take a picture (or render) of a 1m long set. Show the whole thing and the detail becomes too small and we get even more dead space above/below the set.
-
I don't think the pink is any more of a bold choice than, say the blue on the Dectective's Office. I think the shot of the back of the box makes it look much less jarring. I think I need to start a defence force for QQS and the Hungarian Horntail.

Thanks. Looks really cool from the front (though I didnt mind the angle on the front of the box either). Really hoping the GWP is the brick wall entrance now. It's likely not to launch at the same time as the set though right, like the DA microscale didnt launch with the castle?

Maybe it's supposed to be reminiscent of the broom cupboard Rita interviews Harry in

It definitely is accurate, to the first movie, if not to the theme parks. If I'm honest I'd much rather it look like it does in the movies than in a tourist attraction, even if it's a less universally appealing colour choice.

You aren't
-
Yeah, definitely agreed. Same sort of logic as a regular Modular set in that sense.
-
Thanks for sharing the video. Thats a good spot and the accuracy of the set is really impressive when looking at the shops in that shot. Does anyone know what colour pink the QQS is specifically? Figures are fine but not massively exciting. Seems like the focus was definitely more on the build itself.

Adding to this, Scribulus is mentioned in the first two books. As for Florean, I think it's a great choice. Not a huge role but mentioned in a bunch of the books still.
-
It just feels like such an unnecessary reveal at this point. Obviously they still need to make it official but normally at least it feels like we get proper high quality images for the first time when they do.
-
I was looking into it the other day. Scribulus is briefly mentioned in books 1 and 2, think maybe just a single sentence that says he bought supplies for his year from there. No interior scenes or description. Compared to Daily Prophet, which doesn't even get a mention of being in Diagon Alley in the books. It is a big part as a brand though so it makes sense.

Your profile picture is too accurate

I do feel like not having Gringotts as part of the wave that's already out feels like a misstep but I feel like it's one of the more likely DH sets to get made anyway.
-
I agree. It's pretty much just "there are also other sets in this theme"
-
Yeah, I'm fine with this. A few plates and a bunch of grey tiles to make a path isn't too hard to make, even for someone as uncreative as me

Went to Azkaban.

I think combined, we got it ;D
-
It means how far from the front of the set to the back, the width (102cm) is the length

Looks great. My plan was to put the clock tower to the left of the great hall but I'll put it like this if that doesn't work. This series reboot is so visually appealing.
-
Wouldn't hate it. Better than being entirely absent.

I could see the entrance as a neat play feature and something iconic with or without the LC. I think you are right about the translation and it won't be in the set. I think it's quite recognisable as a location and to me an English pub has quite a cool vibe/style with or without the HP license (similar to Privet Drive being a nice British style house). I think there are a number of decent scenes and events in the LC and the bar area downstairs and a bedroom upstairs would be a decent set.

So do we think it has the brick wall that opens on to the Alley. And if not, do you think that makes a Leaky Cauldron set more likely?
-
Basically smacking my head against my desk over the fact there's no Gringotts or Leaky Cauldron. I don't know if I can justify such an expensive set without the two bits I care about most. And if a Gringotts comes out next year, I'll also have a whole new wave of sets to buy so it's not like I'd buy the D2C at that point either.
