  1. Thanks for the review! The new sets look pretty cool. I wish Furno had another weapon, and some back armor-- the set on its own looks a little bland. I'm actually very fond of the white; I'm glad LEGO's using different color schemes. Can't wait to see Breez and Rocka!
  2. I thought I'd have fun with another "rePaint"-- this time it's Surge 4.0 in the colors he should have. Link It's a shame that all of the lime parts could have been replaced with pieces from Surge 2.0.
  3. If they're that big, I'd expect more articulation. :/ But they're still kinda cool, I would get Zane if he was cheap.
  4. Jawblade looks like a nice set. He's skinnier than I expected, but for $8 you get a cool build. I really wish his swords were trans-red, though. Reapa is still my favorite villain. I expected his shoulder armor to be larger, and i thought his chest armor covered his entire torso; but I think he looks neat, and he'll make a great little brother for Corroder!
  5. I forgot about that scene-- I was actually surprised they did that. This also reminds me of Fire Lord wiping the "oil" (blood) off his hand after beating up Furno in the comics.
  6. If only they could show Evo getting his arm blown off in the movie.... I understand that it might be considered too violent for the target audience, but they are robots. They can break.
  7. The game looks cool! A nice Bionicle Heroes feel to it, and definitely a step up from Creep Crushers. ...Is that Stormer?
  8. Thanks for the review! I would be filling up the review index like you, if only I had more old sets. Pahrak is an awesome little set, and is still one of my favorites.
  9. Here’s my official report on HF 2012: This series looks really awesome. It’s cool that several villains are breaking out of Hero Factory itself (I can see Black Phantom rampaging through the Assembly Tower now). I like how many themes are introduced at once, similar to the first HF wave. Now the heroes are given specific upgrades for their solo missions. I don’t like the size differences in the heroes—the larger sets look really good but awkward compared to the 2.0 design. I wonder if there will be a movie for this wave. Rocka: So cool. I didn’t know what to think of him at first, but he’s really grown on me. I love the color choices and that they included trans-lime. He looks mechanical, and I’m very pleased with that (it adds more detail to a normally smooth style). He’s got back armor! The weapon is awesome; I love the ammo running from his back to the launcher. The hero core really suits him. I’m also glad they designed a honeycomb shield that comes from his right arm. Rocka might be my first choice. Breez: Also cool. I like the new armor but wish she didn’t have it—she looks too muscular now. Again, I like the shield and back armor. The new launchers are a big improvement over their wimpy predecessor. Her red and white parts look nice with the green; I also like the two-toned sword. It’s either Breez or Rocka—I have Nex so I feel compelled to get his love interest. :) Furno: Nice colors, I like the silver arm. I think his engines are executed well and a nice twist to the standard builds. I wish he came with another weapon, but I guess his price-per-parts ratio couldn’t allow it. A nice set, my brother will be happy with him. Evo: A neat little set. Really buffed up compared to this year’s heroes. I like the yellow-with-gunmetal color scheme. If you look closely you’ll see he has recolored upper arm and leg bones. The helmet looks cool. Evo is my bro’s favorite character and his first choice. Surge: It looks like there’s too much going on here. The colors are horrible and I wish his arms were blue. IMO the blue blade clashes with his body. I still don’t know why he has that silver armor. The only reason I’d get him is to redesign him as a self-MOC. Black Phantom: This guy is cool. Nice colors, great build, a big improvement over Fire Lord. I don’t mind the titan build—if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. The weapon is wicked. The launcher’s pretty creepy. I think he’s worthy of the price tag; if I have enough money I’ll pick him up. Splitface: There’s not much about Splitface that makes him unique. I really like the concept and the color placement. He looks like the brute of the group. I just wish he had something different. Toxic Reapa: I love this little guy! Reapa’s got an original torso build that looks great. I’ve always liked black and lime together. His face and weapons are very cool. He’ll definitely be my first villain. Jawblade: This set is so crazy I like it. A shark with arms? Why not. The spikes and blades make him look pretty dangerous. The Furno swords are a good recolor. I love the non-human build and can’t wait to see how he’s put together. Thornraxx: I like this guy. His name doesn’t even bother me. A unique build is always welcome. Great design and color scheme. A cool looking set overall. He’ll be my bro’s first villain. Nice lineup for next year; hope these are out by December!
  10. Thanks a lot, Grogall! All of next year's City sets look great. The ones on my wishlist are the Garbage Truck and the Police Pursuit.
  11. It's only fitting. :) More than once I've considered making the Space Police characters into HF villains. Thanks!
  12. I never thought of that, but he does resemble Crowbar.
  13. Hello everyone! Here is my most recent MOC, FRACTURE! Fracture is the newest member of Von Nebula's "Black Hole Gang", as I call it. He was once involved in counterfieting money and artwork but wished there was more action in his life. To prove that he was super-villain material, he crafted two hand-held energy thingies and broke Von Nebula's team out of a temporary HF prison facility. He was automatically welcomed to the team. Standing Side Torso Detail Back Detail Head Detail Highly intelligent and cunning, Fracture would use his wits to slip by security cameras and guards. But now that he posesses a load of power he's starting to change his tactics, often working solo and getting himself caught. It will take him a while to learn how to act along with the team instead of against it. Pose 1 Pose 2 Pose 3 Pose 4 Fracture's weapons absorb kinetic energy and apply it to his targets. He can supercharge an object to the point of explosion or stop a hero in their tracks. Building energy into his fist, he can literally pack a punch. This is my favorite MOC. For once I'm really pleased with the construction of the torso, as well as the overall asthetics. C&C welcome!
  14. When my brother went to the hospital to get some stitches, I thought he'd need some cheering up, so I drew this: LINK I really like the geometry of the 2.0 design; it helps flesh out the figure.
  15. A new picture of the Superheroes has been released, and the Joker figure sports a handful of purple armor plates. This includes sizes 3M and 5M, and the Evo large shoulder armor. I'm really hoping for a purple hero this summer!
  16. While looking at the new picture this thought occured to me: Could Hulk's silver armor be representing his classic ripped shirt? I know it's a stretch, it looks nothing like a shirt, but it's an idea nonetheless.
  17. I'm getting a little tired of the generic energy blasts the HF movies have overused; I'm hoping for a legitimate projectile launcher, like Vakama's Kanoka crossbow. I'm probably wrong, though.... Actually, the more I look at these new heroes, the more they remind me of Toa wearing Adaptable Armor. I think their size and mechanical qualities add to the look. Rocka could've easily passed as a Toa back in 2008. The only thing that bothers me with the new wave is the color of Surge's arms, as well as his leg armor. Why they are entirely lime green I have no idea. And the silver villain cores don't help at all. Since he will be cheaper though, I'll get him and repaint him to represent Eric Zeal, my self-moc. I guess I'll get Toxic Reapa to battle him, too.
  18. Great artwork, Corweena! I always like to see cartoons, and your attention to scale on the vehicles is really amazing. LINK Half-Life anyone? :D
  19. Nice job! Looks like you improved the articulation, too. Every hero should be this armored-up.
  20. Awesome!! I'm really glad they're going back to the basics for this wave-- bad guys break out, HF rounds them up (though I hope there's more to the story than that). The sizes are interesting, I wish all the heroes were small, but I'll see how it works out. I definitely want Breez and Toxic Reapa, and Rocka looks cool too.
  21. Thanks! That's my favorite part about him. I'll try to go over the yellow again.
  22. After watching Savage Planet, I knew I had to give Nex another makeover. Here's Nex 3.2, ditching the tiger stripes and instead sporting a movie-accurate paint job: Front Helmet Chestplate Shield My painting could've been better, but for now it'll do. Since getting rid of the Sharpie stripes proved harder than I thought, I had to give a coat of orange to every orange piece; compared to Nex 2.0, he's a bit lighter in color. I'll definitely repaint Stringer when I get him, too.
  23. That's a neat idea. I'm sure a lot of us would have liked the newer Bionicle pieces in old Mata colors.
  24. Thanks for the upload! I have to say I enjoyed Savage Planet. I liked the jokes, and I'm glad they made several connections between the heroes. The plot was interesting, and the action was pretty good, but I think I enjoyed the OoF fights more (better camera angles). I'll give them a plus for more close-combat, something the first four episodes barely had. Overall, a great addition to the series and probably my favorite so far. And has anyone mentioned the Hero Recon storyline update? It seems that Fortis is on a mission of his own.
  25. So many possibilities, I don't know where to start! I'm definitely saving up for a Recon Hero now!
